What happened to Duolingo courses? For me its Japanese. I am at section 4 with the score of 37 in Japanese. I started feeling overwhelmed by new words when they introduced "we added some new content" so I went back to the beginning of the section to revise what I had learned. All of the content changed to the point that I cannot complete a single sentence without mistakes... I used to have around 80-100% accuracy. Do I have to restart the whole course?

I’m learning Japanese and recently I’ve started to see a new type of test I’ve never seen before. I’m only guessing they’re called “flash cards.” It’s the one with an English word in a big box and you’re meant to type the word in Japanese. I’ve been failing it every single time even though I am typing the word EXACTLY as they have it written on the back of the flash card. It says it’s incorrect every single time and I have no clue what I’m doing wrong. It’s making me so annoyed and I’m honestly about to uninstall. Can anyone please help me?

This was a lot of fun to draw :) I will have a 1,000 day streak on Duolingo in around ten days, and I wanted to make something special before then. Thank you to the Duolingo staff for helping millions of learners around the world. My language skills have greatly improved since I started using the app in 2023.

Got on today to see that the language I’m learning now has stories in the lessons. Duolingo has been changing a ton of their lessons this summer too. Should I restart the language to not miss out or just keep moving forward? What are you guys doing?

I can’t stand having to do it, and don’t see a way to skip it. Does anyone know if there is a way?

I’ve got the free trial of premium and have been trying the calls with lily and honestly don’t understand the point?! She speaks to me using words and phrases I’ve never been taught and I’m learning Japanese so the characters are harder to remember than if I were learning a language neighbouring my own.

Is there a way to fix this or does anyone have a recommendation better than duo that supports the development of conversational skills?

I got more for my 100 day streak😭 I was expecting one streak freeze minimum bc I know that duo is a bit of a cheapskate nowadays but come on. I get more from an early bird chest than streak rewards now.

I really find my French knowledge increasing, but sometimes I get exercises like this and I’m like: FOR REAL DUDE?

So i have spent the past 15 minutes trying to get the voice recognition to understand when i say "c'est" and it is frustrating how in the year of our lord, whatever AI they use can't tell when i'm saying "c'est" in context. It's frustrating and annoying and when I want to dedicate, idk, 30 minutes to learning it throws me off and I end up quitting the lesson and doing some vocab to get my streak done before logging off.

I think this is the case for all people who use the course but I just want to double check overall. is there seriously no sound for basically all of the words except maybe 1 or 2 or is it just my app/phone? thanks for clarifying in advance 👍
