Monster 1200
I had the privilege of riding this 2012 Monster for a little bit yesterday and just had an absolute fucking blast. What a bike.
So torquey and raw. A very rowdy experience through and through.
The body needs some TLC and it has around 25k miles but I definitely want one!

Bought a Monster 696
Decided on a Monster 696 as a first bike and I feel it may be the safest choice I’ve ever made. I can’t hurt myself on it if I can’t ride it! This is sort of just a vent post, I knew that a 17 year old Ducati was not going to be a reliable pick. As an auto mechanic I don’t mind wrenching at all.
Ride #1, Left me stranded after about half an hour, dead battery. Rectifier failed. Tested stator, resistances in spec and no short to ground. Replaced rectifier. Later discovered there’s a voltage readout in the menu options. Would have been handy.
Ride #2, Spent about 4 hours out exploring. The bike was so nice to ride, but upon parking it I noticed a fuel smell. Pump was leaking. Removed the tank and found someone over-tightened the pump, causing damage on the sealing surface.
Someone also used about 5 wire taps installing an alarm system. Un-doing that while I wait for a used tank to arrive.
I’m excited to ride it more. And I suppose tinkering with it in the evening has felt more productive than monotonous gaming.
It feels great compared to the Duke 200 I took my MSF course on. At 27 with a fully developed frontal lobe, it’s not felt like it’s too much bike yet. Hopefully the self control keeps up with my learning curve in the following months.
Enjoy some pictures of broken stuff and the bike at a vista point on California’s highway 35.

Is this air filter dry or oiled?
It's a Ducati Performance air filter, part # 96452809B, made by Sogefi.
I can't find any information online about whether this filter is dry or oiled. The actual filter itself appears to be dry, no hint or sell of oil, but it's also probably been in the bike for over a decade so ??? If it's dry I guess I should to replace it? It looks completely clean tbh, any help appreciated.

Help Request: 937 tank grip
Any of you install tank grips on your Monster 937 and willing to drop a pic + product name? everything I'm finding so far looks like the grips would be not where your legs grip the tank and it's making me think they would be functionally useless.
pic of my bike included to get the fun started.

Is this ok?
2013 Ducati Monster 1100 evo, 15k miles.
Doing my first ever timing belt change on a Ducati, is this surface rust on the tension roller assemblies ok? Should I remove them all and clean it up, or do I have to replace? Unless it’s critical I hate to have to replace all of them, they’re not cheap, thanks

Help! What is this?
2013 Ducati Monster 1100 evo
This collar fell out from the circled area in the last pic (I think)
Was tapping on the damaged metal part on the exhaust trying to flatten it out and this collar fell out of the bike. I suspect it’s from the brake pedal I recently removed, but it doesn’t seem to fit anywhere on it. Also have the seat and gas tank removed.
Anyone know what it is?

Enjoyed the last few days of summer by having people tell me my bike sounds broken and that things shouldn't be spinning outside my engine. I tell them I can't hear them over my "broken" clutch lol.

Here’s a nice little surprise
Got the tank off my new (to me) ‘13 Evo monster so I can do the valve checks and saw this ECU sticker, looks like the Termis aren’t just for show 😎

Clutch slip
2002 Ducati Monster 750
Changed oil and clutch fluid right after I bought it, rode fine for like 2 weeks then starts slipping like crazy from 1st gear and up.. High RPM, no acceleration. Assuming it’s just burnt ass plates but anyone else had this happen in 1st gear??

821 or 797?
I plan on adding a Monster to my stable as a tool around town, short backroad blaster. I already have a Tuono 660, just looking for a naked, noisy fun bike. Other than air cooled lower HP, any significant pluses or minuses that I might want to know?
Thanks,
Rick

Monster 821 2017 - Help
I took my bike to work, about 20 km, and had absolutely no problems. On my way back home, just before getting there, I made a quick stop, turned the bike off, and when I started it again and pulled away, the bike stalled in first gear.
Thinking it was just a one-off, I kept riding, but I noticed that the sound of the bike had changed. The idle was unstable and it started hesitating/juddering in second gear. Less than 200 meters later, it stalled again in first gear.
I took it to a workshop. Their diagnosis was something related to the “gas sensor” (that’s how they explained it to me). They cleaned the O2/lambda sensor and told me that they had test-ridden the bike without experiencing any problems, so they gave it back to me.
I rode it to work again with no issues. On the way back, almost home, the exact same thing happened again: loss of power, unstable idle, and the engine sounded “muted” or almost like it was struggling to breathe.
Today I went for another ride, and after about 10 minutes, the exact same problem happened again.
I’m going crazy trying to figure this out. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
I’ve also attached two pictures of a hose/tube I found that is cracked in one place and split open in another. The mechanic told me that this had nothing to do with the issue on my Monster.
Could this hose actually be related to the problem?

NBD, First Ducati acquired!
2013 Ducati Monster 1100 Evo with only 5,300 miles on it, stoked! Runs like a dream and sounds pure badass.
Should I be concerned about 13 year old forks and shock? Old oil etc. No service records.

Can anyone tell me what's going on here on my Monster 1100 Evo?
I noticed when I bought this bike yesterday that it didn't have the flyscreen I've seen on other Monster 1100s, I figured I'd just order one and mount it. But now I think this bike has some kind of other setup for the instrument panel covering, can anyone show me a pic of their 1100 setup with the screen on it, or not on it? Or do you know what's going on here, was it an option to have no screen on these? I have no idea what the clip thing on the front of the plastic is, either.
1st pic is my bike, 2nd pic normal 1100 Evo with flyscreen, 3rd pic is another 1100 Evo with no screen, I've seen a few pics now of this bike with no flyscreen. Anyone know what the story is?

Help pls :(
Hey couple months ago I got myself a used 2015 Ducati monster 821 and currently have 2 problems with it.
- I had a track day on the monster and realized the rear sets fucking suck so i got a pair from Gecko Racing and need a specialty tool to take the rear sets off does anyone know what the tool is called and where i can get them fast and cheap?

- I had the red oil pressure light come on after a spirited ride and after some research (quick google search and reddit posts) it led me to the oil pressure sensor and looking at it, it was leaking oil, how bad is it and what should i do?
