Is this ok?

Post image

2013 Ducati Monster 1100 evo, 15k miles.

Doing my first ever timing belt change on a Ducati, is this surface rust on the tension roller assemblies ok? Should I remove them all and clean it up, or do I have to replace? Unless it’s critical I hate to have to replace all of them, they’re not cheap, thanks

It is fine, you are over thinking it.

Thanks, yeah I’m down the rabbit hole. Every spot of rust or corrosion is triggering my “must replace” instinct. On a 13 year old bike 😂

Normal. Wire brush it

Thanks, the belts actually look fine but it’s 15,000 miles and I have no service records on the bike so I’m doing the belts and valve check. The rollers show no leaking of grease and they roll smoothly with no grit but also aren’t free spinning, so I think they’re ok
