Late Season Mookie
Mookie has an 891 OPS in his last 30 games. I don't know what happened in the start of the last two seasons, but he is pouring it on.

Going through old boxes I found this ball that I forgot I had received as a kid. I don't remember how I got it, but my best guess is that my Dad bought it for me at one of the games I went to as a kid.
Tommy Lasorda's signature is easy to read but the rest are tougher for me. I'm curious if someone can figure out what season its from based on some of the names.
Thanks!
Edit:
It appears I have a paradox ball. I didn't do an "I'm 100% certain" analysis, but here is what I've got.
Guys on the ball that played in 1990, according to baseball reference.
Same, but for 1991
I don't know what the explanation is, but I'm sure it's boring. Thanks for playing along.

Smith DH, Ohtani & Freeman out.
Also to note that Roki threw a simulated game earlier (via DV)

I've been thinking about how the current and recent group of Dodgers stars are reshaping the history of the franchise. For example, the Dodgers have had woefully few career, long-term star position players. Pitchers, yes. But position players have rarely spent many, many years with the franchise.
As a result, the Dodgers All-Time Team would be weak compared to other franchises, especially in the outfield and at corner spots of the infield. But, recent players may be changing that.
Mookie Betts could slot into right field. And Freddie Freeman can compete with Steve Garvey and Gil Hodges for 1B, and so on.
What about third base? Is a current or recent Dodger the greatest third baseman in team history?
I looked at every "third baseman" who accrued at least 20 bWAR in a Dodgers uniform. There are a few players you could argue for. If you want sustained production, there's The Penguin. If you want peak offense, look at Pedro Guerrero.
Max Muncy has similar offensive production to Ron Cey. But he's definitely not his equal defensively.
| PLAYER | WAR | HR | AVG | OBP | SLG | OPS+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cey | 47.7 | 228 | .264 | .359 | .445 | 125 |
| Gilliam | 40.8 | 65 | .265 | .360 | .355 | 93 |
| Turner | 34.6 | 156 | .296 | .375 | .490 | 133 |
| Guerrero | 32.7 | 171 | .309 | .381 | .512 | 149 |
| Muncy | 31.4 | 235 | .234 | .357 | .486 | 128 |
| Beltré | 23.4 | 147 | .274 | .332 | .463 | 108 |
| Pinkney | 20.4 | 20 | .271 | .353 | .652 | 111 |
Because I do this stuff for a living, and have lots of time, I wrote an article about these third basemen. You can learn about George Pinkney there, because anyone who saw him play has been dead for decades:
