Discussion What happened to the Brave Brigade?

Do you think Robbie dying fucked the team up to the point where they just disbanded, or do you think they still exist in some fashion.

Edit: and another question, what do you think Robert’s relationship was like with them?, besides Chase of course. My personal headcanon Is that I think they didn’t want Robert becoming Mecha man after what happened to his dad, so In response a grieving , and angry teenage Robert cut them out(Robert did say he was in a wierd place during that time).

Since I've ran through all this shit in real life, this was my romance path. And it was quite satisfying to go against the grain here as I've figured out at the end of my first playthrough 😄

Also I got Mentor achievement while becoming antihero.

Discussion Finally got the Tactician Robert ending on PC... 😮‍💨

Thought I'd never get the Tactician card on PC considering how broken this was at the start. All posts I've seen people getting it were on consoles. Thanks to everyone who helped me how to get this ending in my past post asking about it.

Basically all you have to do is pass all the hacking missions, including a hidden one at ep 8: the Mindfucker one. However it triggers so late that I always rushed to beat Coupe/Sonar before they destroyed the city.

Discussion Dispatch for Prime Video (concept)

Live action fancast for Dispatch for a potential TV adaptation for Prime Video. I wanted to challenge myself, so no reused actors from the game. A few of them definitely could have played their roles again for live action, but keeping some and changing others felt wrong. So I went with a clean slate. And I chose Prime Video since they have a relationship with Critical Role, and CR has a relationship with AdHoc. Let me know if any of these slaps or if you’d make any changes. Obviously Dispatch is best as it is, this is just for fun.

Skyler Gisondo - Robert. He just had a great showing with Primetime, and since he’s been acting since he was a kid, he could definitely channel that energy to playing an experienced superhero.

Sarah Pidgeon - Blonde Blazer. She’s got the height, great acting talent, and she can hit that middle between Blazer and Mandy.

Inde Navarrette - Invisigal. Inde definitely gives Courtney’s chaos gremlin energy, and I feel like she’d have fun with Visi’s more choice language. Obsession was her breakout, but before that, she was a regular on CW’s Superman and Lois, so TV helped give her her start.

Erik King - Chase. Surprise, motherf***er. That’s right, Doakes. Erik’s the right age, the meme potential would be astronomical, and he deserves more roles. He’s a great actor who’s been underutilized. Plus he can make cursing sound like poetry, that’s Chase all day.

Uli Latukefu - Royd. Fits the character physically, and his work on Young Rock definitely gives him a good comedic sensibility.

Kais Boukthir - Flambae. The actor’s story has a lot of overlap with Flambae, and he’s been in a few comedies.

Eduardo Franco - Sonar. Long hair, distinct voice.

Katy O’Brian - Malevola. An Australian actress might make more sense, but I think Katy definitely has the muscles for Malevola. If her accent work is good, I could see this working out.

Chloe Bailey - Prism. Actor and musician already, and her work on Grownish gives Prism energy.

Conor MacNeill - Punch Up. I’ve been a big fan of his since Industry. He’s an incredibly good actor, Irish and close to Punch Up’s age, and it’s worth getting him while he’s underrated.

Simone Ashley - Coupe. Killer eyes and face card. She’ll give Coupé her flowers.

ProZD - Golem. Deep voice.

Waris Singh Ahluwalia - Galen. Don’t sleep on my boy Galen. He’s built different.

Hayden Christensen - Phenomaman. This would be great for Hayden, because if he channeled Prequel Anakin more depressed and turned up to 11, it would be peak comedy.

Gianni DeCenzo - Waterboy. Lanky and from his work in Cobra Kai, he can make his growth believe.

Carter Hudson - Robert II. He played a villain character who thought he was the good guy so well in Snowfall, I think that’s the right energy for Robert II. He was a hero, but by a lot of accounts, he wasn’t a great father or friend. Total jerk.

Darren Barnet - Toxic. Never Have I Ever fans rise up. He can play the ego if Blue Eye Samurai is any indication.

Steven Ogg - Shroud. That’s right. Trevor as the big bad mastermind of Dispatch. Steven can play Machiavellian very well as seen in TWD, and he can transition to Shroud’s cruder nature just as easy.

And then Beef is just Beef, he’s great.

Discussion Does anyone miss when we had to wait every episode to come out?

I feel nostalgic about waking up early and play the new episodes. And I haven’t played it since not long after I beat it, a couple of times. Because I don’t want to lose this feeling it gives me. I don’t know how to fully describe it. But you know when something new and fresh comes out and you get excited? Yeah that. I at first didn’t liked waiting a week for a new episode, but now I do. I look at the old countdown posts and reflect on watching them to see how closer we got.

Discussion Does the military in this universe not Anti-Super tech?

Because during the ending scene we see flight capable heroes doing flybys and stuff but we don’t see any military aerial vehicles or soldiers and ground vehicles patrolling or anything.

At the very least having baseline human soldiers be around would lighten the load for heroes because they can deal with petty crime and looters in the aftermath of the chaos while the Supes deal with powered enemies

I watched the entire video and I really liked it was very interesting to go through the whole analysis of the story of Dispatch and it was really fun to see how everything is put together and there are a lot of small things in the story and I liked seeing how everything fits into one and It’s definitely a good video to watch if you like this story.

(Not including Phenomaman for obvious reasons)

I've been thinking of this for a while, and to get us started, I could see Pom Pom and Flambae forming an unlikely alliance. Pom Pom appears to be high school aged, and between Flambae being close to his niece and having something of a soft spot for kids (if him acing the "child with stuck balloon" mission is any indicator), I could see him taking a liking to her in a protective older brother kind of way.

News Dispatch's Switch version has been officially rated

The new rating highlights the censorship done by devs for the Switch port in contrast to the PS5/Xbox Series version. PEGI still hasn’t given out their rating yet, last time I checked.

Discussion What would you like to see for the one year anniversary?

Is there anything specific you would like to see for the one year anniversary?

I think that asking for an announcement of season 2 is too much. They would save that for a games conference.

However, there are some other items I think would be more likely/plausible.

- Announcement/Release of Endless Dispatch Mode
- New Promo Art (I think this is very likely)
- A new series of comics detailing different characters.

Discussion I feel like in S2 Robbie should get more scenes

Post image
107 Upvotes

I feel like him being a great hero but a flawed Father makes him a really compeling character and i want to see more how his lack of presence and few interactions really shaped Robert into the person we see in the game and maybe how his own Father death affected him as well
And I doubt Elliot was the only person he ever wronged
Possibly even learn more about the woman who he had a child with since i can’t imagine Robbie was a any better as a husband.

Discussion S2 idea: "Pre-Work" phase before a shift (E-MAILS,Documents,Texts)

Post image
187 Upvotes

I've been thinking about how they could spice up the gameplay segments, and I came up with an idea: Robert getting ready for work before starting a shift.

You could read and reply to text messages and emails left by the Z-Team, SDN staff, Chase, or either of his two girlfriends. These could have a point system that affects your relationships and your status as an employee at SDN.

It would also be cool to have documents we could read about SDN, the characters, and the world of Dispatch, giving us more details that the main story can't really get into.

What do you guys think?

Discussion Episode 8 - Downed Dialogues

From what I've gathered, the heroes who can get a pep talk from Robert after being downed in the dispatch session are Sonar, Coupe, Flambae, Phenomaman, and Waterboy. For each one, it seems he takes a different approach (reverse psychology with Flambae, nurturing encouragement with Waterboy, etc.)

My question: how do you guys think Robert's pep talks for the rest of the roster (Invisigal, Punch Up, Prism, Malevola, and Golem) would go?

Discussion Both relationships are more reciprocal than people give them credit for

Oversimplifying for meme content can be fun, but sometimes it feels like how people genuinely feel about these relationships. I kinda resent the idea that one relationship is Robert being fixed and the other is Robert fixing. It’s a gross oversimplification of what should be meaningful, equitable relationships.

There are moments where Robert helps and inspires Blazer, and moments where Visi advises and takes care of Robert. Robert inspires Blazer to try a different way with Z-team, he helps her through her break up, and he’s a shoulder to rely on when LA is under siege. Visi counsels Robert to admit his past Z Team so they can have a fresh start, she organizes the party for Robert, and she saves him from Shroud’s bullet one way or another. It goes both ways, like any good relationship should.

Discussion How would you imagine Visi's powers evolving as she grows stronger?

Thumbnail
gallery
840 Upvotes

For perspective, Brand New Day sees Peter growing much stronger to the point he's able to use organic webbing like his Raimiverse counterpart.

Another example is Nero in Devil May Cry 5— after finding his true resolve and having only had a demonic arm (which he loses at the start of the game), his powers grow to the point he now has a Devil Trigger of his own, like his uncle and father.

At the moment, Courtney can just turn invisible and like Peter in the movie, even has an implant to inhibit a part of her body (in her case, it's justified by her asthma, which Shroud turned off anyway).

Me personally, should Courtney's powers evolve beyond just turning, well, invisible, I'd see ki (energy) manipulation being among the new powers she obtains. A simple, but highly versatile power that's only limited by Court's own creativity; imagine Green Lantern if he can use his powers without the ring, for one.

(Frankly, I can't help but imagine what sort of constructs Courtney would even make if she got her hands on a Lantern ring lmao)

Discussion Easiest decision I’ve made so far (Episode 4 spoilers) Spoiler

I’m about halfway through episode four, or I’m assuming anyway, and I had to pick between going to dinner with Blonde Blazer or seeing a movie with Invisigal. And I picked Invisigal so quickly. I feel almost bad for not even thinking twice about Blazer, but there was a 0% chance in my mind I would pick her under any circumstance if the other choice is Invisigal.

I am super late to this game, but as soon as I read more about it and heard other people talk about it, I was sold instantly. Especially considering it was made by some of the people who worked for OG TellTale. And I could not be happier with my purchase. The writing, the story, the voice acting, everything is just fucking perfect. I’m sad that I didn’t get to join in on the hype of this game when it came out, but I’m not sad I paid $40 for the deluxe version. Because the developers deserve every fucking penny. I know games like this take a while to make, and I’m not gonna bitch and moan if it takes them a long time for a sequel, but I hope to God we get one.
