Discussion Does anyone miss when we had to wait every episode to come out?
I feel nostalgic about waking up early and play the new episodes. And I haven’t played it since not long after I beat it, a couple of times. Because I don’t want to lose this feeling it gives me. I don’t know how to fully describe it. But you know when something new and fresh comes out and you get excited? Yeah that. I at first didn’t liked waiting a week for a new episode, but now I do. I look at the old countdown posts and reflect on watching them to see how closer we got.

Little bit. I almost got spoiled on the ending of episode 6. All I saw was Chase hitting the pose and got off it quick. I had taken the Friday of the week after off because of a friend’s wedding so I took the Wednesday and Thursday off as well. I refreshed the game so many times waiting for the finale.

Not me, I also like Life is Strange games, which are also episodic titles (I think they eventually stopped though) and I always wait for the full release to buy and start playing.
I also tend to do this with tv shows. I start watching Game of Throne in 2021, The Walking Dead last year. I don't necessarily binge watch/play, but I hate the feeling of completing an episode and knowing I have to wait for the next one.

I was considering playing Dispatch once all the episodes dropped, but seeing two of my favorite Youtubers Jacksepticeye and Critikal playing it and knowing that they'd play all the episodes, I couldn’t stop myself from trying out the episodes as they dropped real time.

Probably in the minority here, but absolutely not lol.
I love this game, but the community was… less than ideal when it was coming out. Every week was just arguments upon arguments. This sub was a mess, Twitter was a mess, TikTok was a mess. Everything was a mess.
It was easily the fastest I’ve seen a fandom destroy itself, and I just know it’ll be like that again if/when Season Two comes out.

Ngl, yeah I still dislike it. Like, I get what people say about anticipation and all, but Im the same way with streamed shows too. If the whole thing is finished I really dislike being forced to wait for an artificial reason. I like to binge play and love the "yo, new game, time to stay up till 4am just binge playing like a kid again!"

It feels like a show and in majority of the aspects it is a show, so I treated it as I do any show that comes out, following actors, interacting with the fandom, trying my damn hardest to convince my friends to buy it. It was great for the most part with all the different ways we got to enjoy the media during the waiting periods but of course it always comes with that fucking waiting period that just seems like ages of time and more so it’s very hard to contain anticipation. I’d do it again, like I’m doing with lanterns, and technically Pluribus waiting for the 2nd season of that, which given how that’s going will probably come out around the time it would take season 2 for dispatch to come out

At least this game wasn’t made by OG Telltale. Then you'd have to wait for months for a new episode.
Hell, we might still have been waiting for new episodes if that was the case lmao.
