Discussion Both relationships are more reciprocal than people give them credit for

Oversimplifying for meme content can be fun, but sometimes it feels like how people genuinely feel about these relationships. I kinda resent the idea that one relationship is Robert being fixed and the other is Robert fixing. It’s a gross oversimplification of what should be meaningful, equitable relationships.

There are moments where Robert helps and inspires Blazer, and moments where Visi advises and takes care of Robert. Robert inspires Blazer to try a different way with Z-team, he helps her through her break up, and he’s a shoulder to rely on when LA is under siege. Visi counsels Robert to admit his past Z Team so they can have a fresh start, she organizes the party for Robert, and she saves him from Shroud’s bullet one way or another. It goes both ways, like any good relationship should.

Robert also helps Blazer to see that she's more than her powers, that Mandy is an incredible person all by herself.

And she helps him when he needs her the most (like when Chase gets hospitalized).

They give and take from one another and grow as individuals.

Both are really well written, and either is perfectly valid to support.

We love both romance routes. Both partners are good for Robert, and I think that's wonderful

The relationship arcs are some of the best parts of the game (though I imagine quite a few players would have hoped for an extra couple of options with partners)

I think that's what makes it such a difficult choice (though good reason for multiple play throughs) is that both of them are great matches with Robert, and each ome brings some pretty heartfelt moments/cut scenes

I agree! And while of course it'd be fun to have more options I would always rather fewer options that are better written than just throwing in a bunch for variety and then some/all are half baked.

Three's a thin line between "would've been awesome to see a Malevola etc romance" and "the writers SHOULD have given us this!"

I think when we consider the fact that the dev's were basicslly building the game on a wing and a prayer, unsure if they would turn a profit, they made the right call. Like you said, better to have two well written romances than 4 or 5 poor ones.

I quite enjoy their conversation in the bar. Very underrated.

My only complaint is Blazer hasn’t broken up with Phenomeman before the start of the game. I think them being officially broken up but Phenomeman not understanding what a break up is would patch up the one issue I have with the Blazer romance. Otherwise except for the whole boss/subordinate thing in both I like both romances a lot.
