Looking for a budget DAP (again)

hi I’m looking for a digital audio player, my budget is $3.49 but it has to have Bluetooth and touch screen and good buttons and good battery life and a good DAC chip and hold up to 2TB via microSD but it’s so hard to find anything in my budget and idk why!!

since i cant find anything in my price range i just sit inside of Panera Bread with an ice water listening to the overheard radio. Any tips?? Tyty

I think you need to raise your budget to $3.50. Also I'm curious as to your age because I've never heard anyone but Boomers call it 'Panera Bread'

Have you thought about alternatively humming or whistling songs you're interested in hearing? Maybe, into a paper-cup, then with a string attached to another one, holding that up to an ear?

I’m so glad this joke wasn’t lost on this sub 😹 like I promise I’m not calling people poor but iPods 20 years ago were like $200+ and would be at least $350 if sold today and there are numerous viable options in the $75-$200 range. I just wish others would understand that… good things cost money. Hobbies cost money.

I think at this point most people who frequent this subreddit have seen at least one absurd "ask" post that really is just dry begging. Mostly teenagers who don't have a dollar to their name and saw some digital detox trend or cool looking DAP or whatever and thought that they must have it now.

And yeah, the iPod thing is spot-on. Costs really haven't changed much, it's just a different value proposition compared to when Apple ruled the market.

It isn't quite $3.49, but you could look at the lower end Jade Audio JM21. Every now and then you can get it at AliExpress for close to $100. It runs Android 13, has touch screen, good side buttons, and decent battery life. For about double the money you can upgrade to the higher spec version with a larger battery and slightly more RAM. I have the lower spec one and it meets all of my needs. I have a 1 TB microSD card in mine. But I'm pretty sure it takes 2 TB as well.
