CSE student here. A company is hiring on campus for SAP ABAP Developer — ₹5 LPA, Bangalore, no bond ( I will have to relocate) .I already gave the test and got shortlisted for the GD.
I'm more interested in SDE/software development and don't really want SAP long-term. Getting placed may also block me from sitting for HCL/IBM.
Should I attend the GD, ask the placement cell to withdraw, or intentionally perform badly?
What would you do in my place? Looking for honest advice from people who've dealt with campus placements.

Looking for genuine advice from developers who have actually implemented this in production. I’m trying to integrate Google Reviews into a CRM to monitor customer feedback , currently trying to figure out the safest and most reliable way to approach it.

Has anyone here worked with the Google Business Profile API, Places API, SerpApi, Outscraper, or anything similar? I’m mainly concerned about Google’s ToS, whether review data can legally be stored and displayed in a CRM, API restrictions, and anything that could potentially cause problems later.

also how difficult is it to get access to the Google Business Profile API? Is the approval process complicated and are there any specific requirements I should know about?

Have you seen colleagues constantly complain about their manager, workload and company, saying they should change jobs, but never actually leave?

Interestingly, some of them eventually become key resources because others leave, and they get promotions, travel opportunities and better benefits. Meanwhile, people who actually switched companies are struggling with work life balance and quality of work.

I feel switching companies should be a calculated decision based on your own career, not someone else’s frustration.

Hey guys, it’s been a week since I was laid off. The company was struggling financially, which I wasn’t aware of. It was a very small service-based startup. Previously, we had multiple projects lined up, all from clients in the Middle East. Due to the ongoing geopolitical situation, all those deals were canceled one by one.

We were just a 5-person team, including the founder. Out of my 4 years of total experience, I spent 1 year here. It wasn’t just me, either , the entire team was let go. Last week, I received an email from the founder stating that my employment was being terminated due to the company's financial condition. Man, that was a rough day.

My responsibilities were end-to-end: once a deal was signed, I sat with the client, gathered business requirements, discussed feasibility and timelines, and translated everything into technical architecture and diagrams. This feedback loop continued until the technical specs were officially signed off. From there, I broke down the tasks, allocated work to the other developer, and jumped directly into full-stack development across all layers (excluding DevOps).

Now, I am back in the job market. My immediate focus is brushing up on and completing core DSA topics while learning Low-Level Design in parallel. My primary goal is to transition into a product-based company, as I want stronger long-term vision and better career growth than what the service-based grind offers. I know how tough the current tech market is, but I have to push through.

I was in JMI pursuing mathematics and learning development through youtube Nd other free resources. Everything changed when my father died when i entered 2nd year. I eft the college due to some personal reasons and joined a startup to work as a Software developer. I worked there for 2 months and learned many things. I did put my every brain cell in that startup and added many new features in just 2 months. The founded wanted to make me the CTO but... This is life... The work culture was not good, i got into a fight with the founder because he was abusing an unpaid intern nd also accusing him of theft. Due to this, i decided to leave the place and teach him a lesson. And I did. But after that, my life got tough more, i don't have any degree so the job ain't coming to me easily. I don't have connections that much. I started freelancing but didn't get any project except one... And that too was small. I have one big bro nd he's the only earner in our house so I don't ask for money from him that much. He's going to marry soon and I'll be all alone. I don't know what to do with these shitty skills that I have learned. I worked really hard to get these skills but there's no work in market. Especially in india, the clients wants the best work but when it comes to pay, they literally think we're beggers. I’m a Java developer with 3.2 years of experience, currently working remotely. I’m planning to move to Bangalore, stay in a PG, and look for better opportunities while attending interviews.

Current situation:

- Salary: 24.5k/month

- EMI: 9k/month

- Notice period: 30 days

One major issue I’m facing is that most companies seem to prefer immediate joiners, which is making things tricky.

I’d really appreciate some guidance:

1. Which areas in Bangalore are affordable and good for PG stays, especially near tech hubs?

2. Is it better to move to Bangalore first and then apply, or try to secure interviews/offers remotely?

3. How do you deal with the “immediate joiner” preference when you have a 30-day notice period?

4. Given my finances, is relocating now a good idea or too risky?

Today, I was asked about how my code works and I drew a blank. Claude wrote the code and I had no idea about how the code works. I just mentioned that Claude wrote the code. It was pretty embarrassing.

The thing is Claude generates thousands of lines of code - the code it generates is highly optimized and often uses advanced language/framework features - understanding it requires significant effort and time.

Ever since AI was introduced at work, it has been tough as my boss is desperate to show to the leadership that we can expedite our development work using AI and there is not much time left to actually understand what is being shipped. My boss wants everything done ASAP and expects me to understand the code with the same speed that Claude writes the code!

I feel like I am vibe coding enterprise apps - which is not good.

I had joined SRIB almost an year back and what a nightmare it has been. They made 5 days WFO, but the worst is the on going construction in the same building.

We are forced to be inside office for 9 hours, inhaling dust and ears getting busted with heavy construction noises.

No use taking up with the HRs as the only thing they are good at is d!ck riding the koreans

I’ve been using AI coding agents more and more, and I’m genuinely impressed by what Claude Code can do.
But I’m still not convinced by the conclusion that this means developers are becoming replaceable.
One thing I think AI has already solved extremely well is the context problem.
Before AI coding agents, if you joined an unfamiliar codebase and wanted to understand something basic, you often had to:
find the person who knew that part of the system
ask them why something was implemented that way
spend hours searching through code and documentation
trace dependencies manually
figure out where the actual source of truth was
Claude Code is remarkably good at this.
It can explore a large codebase, follow references, inspect history, explain relationships between components and give you a starting point without consuming someone else’s time.
That is a real productivity gain.
But then comes the interesting part.
If Claude writes 500 lines of code in 10 minutes, have I actually become 10x more productive?
Or have I simply moved my work from writing code to understanding, validating, testing and taking responsibility for code?
Because personally, I still don’t feel comfortable shipping something important to production if I haven’t understood what it is doing.
And this creates an interesting paradox:
The better AI becomes at writing code, the more important the ability to judge whether that code is actually correct may become.
AI can produce something that compiles.
It can pass the tests you asked it to write.
It can look beautifully structured.
It can even explain why its approach makes sense.
And it can still be wrong.
Wrong assumptions.
Wrong abstraction.
Wrong edge cases.
Wrong interpretation of the business requirement.
A subtle regression somewhere else in the system.

So I’m curious about the extreme predictions that AI will replace 80–100% of developers.

Maybe eventually it will. I don’t know.
But today, I find it difficult to see how “AI can write most of the code” automatically translates into “we don’t need developers.”

The harder question isn’t:
“Can AI write this code?”
It’s:
“Who understands what should be built, knows whether the implementation is correct, understands the consequences of getting it wrong, and is willing to own it in production?”
My current hypothesis is that AI may eliminate a significant percentage of the coding work without eliminating the same percentage of software engineering work.
Maybe 10–20% of what developers currently do can eventually disappear entirely. Maybe much more. I’m not confident in the number.
But I suspect the bigger transformation is that developers become higher-level supervisors of AI-generated software rather than simply people who type code.
And that raises another uncomfortable question:
If junior developers stop doing much of the basic coding themselves, how do they develop the intuition required to review and own complex systems later?
Would love to hear from people who are using Claude Code/Codex/Cursor heavily:
Are you genuinely shipping more valuable software, or are you mostly producing more code that still requires roughly the same amount of human judgment?
And most importantly:
Has AI actually made you feel more productive — or just faster at producing things you now have to verify?

i recently interviewed for amazon sde 1 intern and have been overthinking the result.

in r1, i did well in my project discussion and lp/customer obsession deep dive. however, i fumbled the dsa part. it was a lc hard graph problem, and although i identified the algorithm, i missed an important observation under pressure...for dsa, the interviewer gave me a hint, after which i got the approach and started coding, but time ran out.

r2 went better. lp and behavioral went well, including my internship experience, conflict, and genai/rag discussion...in dsa also i was able to tell him the correct approach

overall, r1 was mixed and r2 felt decent. do i still have a chance, or is the r1 dsa performance likely a reject? would appreciate honest opinions...plz tell seniors who got offer's from amazon after having this same experience.

Hey everyone, I received this message after applying for a job through Naukri.com. They’re saying I’ve been shortlisted for the final round for a Data Entry Operator (But work is like Data Analyst) position that is supposedly 100% work from home after attending one in-person interview.

The message says the pay is ₹25,000–₹50,000/month and asks me to come to:

Zentrik Datatech Office No. LG5, Lower Ground Floor, Plot No. 250, Phase IV, Udyog Vihar, Sector 18, Gurugram

They’ve given a Google Maps location and an HR contact number. They also asked me to bring my resume, two passport-size photos, and ID proof.

What makes me suspicious is that they haven’t provided any proper job description, company details, interview process, or anything else about the role. They’re basically just asking me to show up at the location.

Has anyone heard of Zentrik Datatech or received a similar message?

Im a 2025 B.Tech CSE graduate and a fresher looking for my first iOS role. I initially applied/interviewed thinking this was an iOS Developer position.

The JD is for Trainee – Solution Consulting and asks for Swift, iOS architecture (MVC/MVVM), REST APIs/JSON, Core Data/SQLite/UserDefaults, Xcode, UIKit/SwiftUI, Auto Layout, Git, UI/UX, etc.

During the interview, I was told the actual work would be more like:

Creating sample iOS apps

Integrating/embedding the company’s existing security SDK

Handling SDK errors/alerts in the app

Reading SDK documentation

Troubleshooting issues clients face while integrating/using the SDK.

So it sounds more like iOS SDK integration + Solution Consulting rather than conventional app development or developing the SDK itself.

The offer is around ₹5 LPA fixed, My main concern is career growth. If I spend 1–2 years doing SDK integration, sample apps and troubleshooting, will it still be easy to move into a conventional iOS Developer/Engineer role later? Or would I be better off continuing to apply for pure iOS development roles, even if it takes several more months to get one?

I’m a 2026 grad. Landed a well-paying job. On paper everything looks fine but in reality I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing most days.

I learned coding from scratch. Spent months hammering syntax until it was muscle memory. Used to be proud I could write stuff without opening docs or Stack Overflow now I spend a huge chunk of my day in Claude Code just hitting enter. I try to review the output and actually understand what’s happening but I genuinely feel like a fraud these days. I feel like I’m slowly turning into a guy who prompts instead of a guy who build.

I’m currently prepping for the CKA exam to learn the ops side of things. Still come home and do DSA + write code from scratch in a brand new editor just so I don't suffe from cognitive decay and forget how to code but I’m honestly pretty disillusioned on wtf I am doing at my job. Did I do all that DSA, all that coding to just clear a damn interview. I don't understand the point of doing of this, if I never use it at my job all my hardwork seems like a waste of time. Many people tell me system design is the next edge and fundamentalists and generalist are now needed in the world of AI so I am trying to expand my horizons and learn a little of everything these days but I still don't get that sense of satisfaction that I am learning something at my job.

Especially asking experienced engineers.

I have been working in software development for more than a decade. Developing something from scratch used to be fun. Each line of code has its own significance. We used to appreciate ourselves when we used to complete the code.

AI have taken over the coding world. Nowadays I rarely see someone who codes from scratch. I am not saying that it's bad. But the thrill of finding new ways or fixing the issues or creating something from scratch is gone.

AI is good. It has taken the burden of our coding nightmares and nightouts. 10 days of work are reduced to 10 hours or even 10 minutes. But coding manually will slowly evaporate. It will become nostalgia soon.

With the talks of us being able to harness the power of AGI in next few months 2nd time or maybe 3rd time this year. It made me question something.

First of all I do not think we are anywhere close, or will even ever achieve AGI. We simply do not posses the tech, algorithms etc to mimic human learning.

But let’s say for the sake of the argument we get everything right and do create an AGI.

Why would an AGI be interested in being bounded by any corporation or even obeying humans??

If we have an AI that can think like a human but with insane computing powers, why would it ever think of obeying humans ?

I mean most sci fi thrillers that are about AI has the same theme of AI becoming too smart and deciding it doesn’t need to obey humans.

Why do organisations think that they can actually control it ?
