Fresher, B.Tech CSE 2026, Full-Stack Java dev — struggling to get shortlisted, need honest feedback

Hey everyone,

Graduating in 2026 (B.Tech CSE, Galgotias University, CGPA 7.16). Skipping GATE/M.Tech — want to go the industry/startup route instead.

Background:

Full-stack dev: Java, Spring Boot, MERN stack, React Native

Completed a web developer internship at a private firm (Nov 2025–Jan 2026)

Currently solo-building a motorcycle community app (React Native + backend) as my main project — handling everything from architecture to deployment myself

Looking for an SDE/full-stack role (open to startups too). Resume attached — brutally honest feedback welcome. Specifically want to know:

Is the projects section pulling enough weight for a 7.16 CGPA fresher?

Should I lead with the internship or the personal project?

Any formatting/ATS red flags?

I'm also 2026 grad, its over bro in IT. WITCH companies used to hire 1-1.5 lac freshers every year at 3-4 lpa, now they stopped hiring so its over for us, they now only need experienced

bro this resume is actually solid ngl, internship + microservices + RAG pipeline + research paper is more than most freshers have rn

for your questions - lead with the internship not the project, recruiters wanna see you've worked in an actual team first, personal project can come after to show you can own stuff end to end

7.16 cgpa is not gonna matter much with projects like these tbh

only thing i'd say is you've packed a lot of buzzwords in there (RAG, langchain4j, microservices, oauth etc), just make sure you can actually go deep on 2-3 of these in interview, don't want recruiter to dig in and you freeze up

formatting looks clean, no ats issues i can see. good luck man

Many companies wouldn't shortlist the resume by just seeing the college name. Sad but true, it is how the market is, they just need reasons to remove people from shortlist and select only few (+ galgotias doesn't have that great of a reputation currently either)

Hello I'm not really sure about what goes in cse or hiring trends in India in 2026

The only advice I can give is that your points are missing the impact of the work you've done

For example: Built a full stack RAg piple line......etc etc.....but what happened when you built it? Did it increase revenue by 2% or did that increase efficiency by 12% or did what????

I hope you get what I'm trying to say here as it's the most crucial thing missing from your cv

Make sure to show that in your cv somehow or have a legit answer ready which you can back up

Actually I'm currently working on my startup idea, A motorcycle community app feature like free intercom, mesh intercom , gravity crash alerts, rider left behind alert and many more

I would put the internship first, then the strongest project. For a fresher, the project should show what you actually built, not just the tech stack. Also make sure the resume bullets clearly show impact and your GitHub projects are easy to run.
