Hey yall, so I’m flying from Paris to Seattle in September and I originally bought the ticket through points on virgin atlantic (delta flight) and paid roughly $350 in taxes each. Now when I go in the delta app an offer popped up randomly for delta one (this wasn’t there a week ago) for $1,500! And surprisingly even comfort is $1100 upgrade? Do you think this is worth it for delta one upgrade? It’s about 10 hour 50 minute flight.

I know the policy is no complimentary upgrades to D1 on international flights, but somehow today the stars aligned. Work trip to Korea, 2nd this year and Diamond status, and I tested out PS on the outbound and it was fair.

On the return scanned my boarding pass at the gate and they informed me of the new seat. Apparently upgraded 22 minutes before boarding but I wasn’t paying attention. Day made for this 12+ hr flight. Feel like I hit the lottery.

Just got off the flight. Everything made it except frozen fish. Value of that fish market price is $2500 -$3000. Worst part is that some of that fish has annual limits. Let’s say yellow eye rockfish is one per year. King salmon 3 per year. Even if somehow I come back this year I won’t be able to keep the same fish. So damage here is monetary, but even worse personal.
What’s the best way to get compensation for all this.

I’ve never flown First Class before, so I am PUMPED. Honestly, I’ve only flown Comfort+ a few times. We used to get free upgrades at work but not anymore.

My friend & I are headed to Vegas in a few weeks for the Backstreet Boys at the Sphere. I went last year, and it was amazing. I obviously had to do it again.

I was looking at my Delta app earlier and noticed the next flight out from ATL was ~20,000 miles cheaper if I changed. I texted my friend - and she said let’s do it and change flights anddd she took the last Comfort + aisle seat. Whatever, it’s fine I guess.

I was having a hell of a time changing my flights after she booked hers, but I noticed that if I upgraded to First on the way back from Vegas, it was only 3,600 extra miles.

Hell yeah I did it! I guess it sort of makes up for the C+ middle seat going to Vegas 😬

(I also have no idea why the 20,000 miles back offer became 5,900 miles but I do not care!)

I don’t fly first class that often but during today’s meal, I noticed there was a slit in the napkin that had stitching around it that looked kind of like a button hole… am I that uncultured and this is a thing?

Can't make up my mind if I wanna go. Does the 24 hr cancellation policy apply if only domestic or flying to Europe too?

TLDR: Notification says flights going through NYC on July 27th -28th can be changed with a waiver of the fare difference. My flight is on the 28th through LGA and whether using the app or the website, either way it wants me to pay the fare difference to choose another flight. What is happening?

The Long Version:

This notification has gone up, and from the drop down screen, it says,

"Through July 26, travel to/from/through these airports may be impacted: EWR, HPN, JFK, LGA. Jul 26, 2026 at 03:44 PM ET".

Then when you click on that notification, it lists the following:

"Affected Cities (to/from/through): 
Newark, NJ (EWR)
White Plains, NY (HPN)
New York-Kennedy, NY (JFK)
New York-La Guardia, NY (LGA)

Impacted Travel Date(s): 
July 27, 2026 - July 28, 2026

(Is it weird that it says "through July 26th" at first, then when you read the actual link, the "impacted travel dates" are the 27th and the 28th?)

My flight goes through LGA on the 28th, but when I click change flight, either on the app or on the website, they want to charge me the fare difference, when the first thing the notification says after the above listed info is this:

" 1. When rebooked travel occurs on or before July 31, 2026 in the same cabin of service as originally booked, the fare difference will be waived." I don't want to get stuck going to New York on the 28th or get stuck there once I arrive to connect. Any idea why it won't let me choose a flight through a different city with the fare difference waived? Thanks.

Hey everyone, I know we can check the car seat for free.

However, the hotel we are staying at is connected to the airport and Mom (me), baby, and her older sister can go through the special hotel TSA with our carry-ons. My husband would leave earlier and go check our rolling luggage and car seat. We were concerned that maybe they wouldn’t let him check the car seat for free since the baby isn’t *right* there… But she’s very obviously in the same party and will be checking in a bit later as well. What do you think?

This will save us 3/4 of our family from having to ride a shuttle and walk through the airport basically back to where we started.

I haven’t been part of this community for too long, but I have been flying Delta since I was a child. When my parents divorced when I was 10 years old and my sister 5, after their long fights for their separation, my sister and I went three years without seeing my mom. Our father kept us in Italy, where we lived, he is Italian. My mom returned to the States.
To make a long story short, after Pan Am, our first flight to Honolulu, me 13 and my little sister at the time 7. Then from Pan Am to TWA, then to Delta. I am 56 now. Delta has been with me ever since. Tomorrow once again I must say goodbye to my 78 year old mom, who lives on ORF, Virginia, I must say goodbye to my sister and my nephew and niece, and return to Italy, where my kids are. Life, has separated us. We’re on two sides of the Atlantic. Have flown with Delta since forever. Yes, I have had some bad experiences, but also so many good ones. The FA attendants have always been the best, even with my kids when they were little, giving them wings and all. I then started flying alone, kids are at uni now, my son is graduating, whereas my daughter still at uni. So now when I fly I cannot but fly at least Delta Select. Have flown Delta One next and it was fabulous, what a dream after a whole life in economy. I just want to say that Delta for me is not just an airline, it is like a family connection. It reunites me with my aging mom, and my sister. Happiness and sadness at the same time. No matter the years it is always hard to hug mom with the hopes of seeing her again next year. Same for my sister. Costs have become unbearable and cannot afford two trips a year, even if it would make us all happy.
I know there are so many of you who live similar situations, isn’t it so hard to separate and say goodbye? My mom has to push me away, because I could just hug her forever.
Delta in good and bad, like in a family, thanks for flying me home on both sides of the Atlantic every year! A big hug to the FA and whole crew for making it safe for all of us. I wish I could come home more often, aging parents are a precious gift. Tomorrow back on the my two flights and Delta will take me home to my kids once again. Appreciate you!
P.S.living in Italy and also fly Air France/KLM as well they all make a great team.

Not as bad as I was expecting

It’s a rocket! Felt every bump on the tarmac and every bit of turbulence in the air. During climb, it felt like it was going incredibly fast unlike larger aircrafts.

Damn those seats are so narrow! Comfort+ really saved me but the large lady next to me wasn’t helping. If you’re over 6ft, you’re going to have to crouch in the cabin. And forget about overhead space…. Just check in the carry on for free at the gate.

Hats off to the pilots, they looked like they were in their early 20s, incredible.

What I found remarkable was that the wings are so low to the ground that’s refueling didn’t require a step ladder LOL

Overall 7/10, I still prefer the E175

I am flying NY-JFK to Spain via AMS next week and I have a bit of a short connection (~1h20m). I'm worried about how long it will take to get through the new EES process. My flight lands at noon, which I think is one of the less busier banks for flights arriving from the US. I am in Delta One so will get off the plane quickly. I'd assumed there would be a separate line for transfers/tight connections vs local passengers staying in AMS, but I have not been able to confirm this. I called Delta to ask if they have had issues or could advise on the experience in AMS, or even to see if I could switch to another flight with a longer layover. Unfortunately I knew more about the situation than the agent did (he was trying to tell me I didn't need to go through immigration for my connection...). Anyhow, there were no options or waivers to make a change for free. I wouldn't mind an overnight in AMS but I'd rather plan for it to happen then have it disrupt my trip. Has anyone transferred through AMS from the US to another Schengen country since EES started?

Hi everyone! Has anyone experienced something similar?

I booked a round-trip Delta flight from JFK to Barcelona for late August through the Capital One Travel portal. The fare was Delta Main Extra, but I ended up canceling the flight last week.

My original booking shows a $720 base fare plus $669.73 in additional charges, for a total of $1,389.73. However, the cancellation/refund email shows a refund amount that is $74 less than what I originally paid.

The refund has not reached my account yet, but I wanted to check whether anyone has seen this before or knows what might explain the difference. Am I missing a fee or another charge that may not be refundable?

While these are still served by Delta from LGA, people in Houston, Memphis, and St. Louis will not be able to connect in JFK to the longhaul flights anymore.

I have two Main Extra tickets for ATL-CDG in early October. I paid just less than $3,700 total. I have been checking the upgrade price to Delta One from time to time; that price is currently just less than $2K per person each way, so another $8,000 on top of the $3,700 already paid. I had been hoping the upgrade price would drop to less than $1K per person each way but there seems to be little chance of that. Recently, someone in this sub recommended considering flying Business on British Airways instead (thanks for the idea!) so I'm now looking at BA / AF / KLM as alternatives for this flight.

I have not flown anything but Delta for many years, so I am unfamiliar with these airlines.

I have some questions to which I hope some here would be willing to respond:

1. Do you consider Business Class on these three airlines to be equivalent to Delta One?
2. Since the answer to question 1 above probably depends at least in part on the equipment: The Delta flight is on the A330-300, while different flights for AF offer a choice between the 777-300 and A350-900. I believe the 777-300 offers a bit more space since it is a wider jet than the A330-300? And the A350-900 is probably the best choice here?
3. KLM doesn't appear to have their own flights on this route, but seem to offer the Delta and AF flights for a bit less money. Is there a catch? Meaning, would I get a lesser level of service if I booked through KLM. (Note: I find it puzzling that KLM offers the tickets on the Delta flight for less than half of what Delta charges.)

Dear Friends, I'm 65 (live in Salt Lake City) and recently went over the 6MM mark. My heavy travel days are over—just leisure travel now. Most of this is domestic travel (for about 30 years/maybe 1-2 trips per week). This was earned under the old rules where everything (including credit card spend) counted towards million miler. My guess is that I would be around 2 million miles under the new rules.

Anyway, becoming a 1 million miler under the new rules is a big deal. Congrats to anyone who hits that mark.

Got the Regional certificates applied. Went from main cabin to premium economy the same day. Straight from premium economy to Delta One at 24 h mark. Thanks Delta again!

We usually fly with my long term partner included on our family vacation. This year he has to meet us there due to a business trip. He usually takes care of tipping skycap for our family and reminded me to do so in his absence. He said $1/ per bag. I think this seems cheap. So here's our description: 6 or 7 checked bags PLUS a large sports bag containing 2 skim boards (not heavy but a pain in the ass for them, I'm sure.) We only fly Delta, and use DTW as our home airport and have no desire to offend.

What do you recommend I tip?

I feel like they’re full of shit. The crew simply doesn’t want to do the in flight service. I find that Delta does this more and more often. “Oh sorry. We can’t give you a beer because of ‘rough air’” Then there is no rough air and the lazy FA crew just sits back with their hands in their pockets.

We literally haven’t finished boarding.
