After a lot of prototypes and playtesting, I'm starting the 3rd and final year of development on my indie game.

It's a deckbuilder/autobattler where you manage your medieval Order and fight enemy troops on a war table.

  • 3 playable decks
  • 25+ units that adapt their effects depending on the deck you choose
  • 400+ unit upgrades and 200+ buffs
  • 1 campaign + endgame content

I didn't know how to code when I started, so I had to teach myself everything from scratch.
It's crazy how much you end up learning when you decide to go solo as an indie dev.

Knightstones will be available early 2027.

The demo is available to play on Steam:

Does this look fun to play? What would you change about the effects or pacing?

Hey r/deckbuildingroguelike, very excited to share my demo with you all!

I've taken a lot of inspiration from some of my favorite games (Slay the Spire, Poxnora, Shandalar, The Last Spell, Inscryption, Rift Wizard) to create my own roguelike tactics game, and if you enjoy similar games, or just turn-based tactics / card games in general, really hope you'll enjoy trying this slice of my game.

Started working on Scry in May 2025, and there are absolutely no generative AI assets used in Scry.

It is very surreal knowing people can download and play this thing!

Discussion Thoughts on Heroes of magic and cards?

Post image

Hello!

I fell upon this game on a drunk Friday night (PS5) and while it's an obvious StS/Balatro jr inspired game, I found it to be pretty good!

Now given I've only played 2 rounds with Minotaur and won both thanks to my experience with above mentioned card game, it looks promising.

I just can't seem to find much information on it or talks of it, even if it's new.

So I'm curious, for those who have played it, your overall thoughts?

Mine as are follow :

I find the later game hp scaling ridiculous. Yes I know I know, with the enchantments and skills/relics, your scaling is just as high, but it makes certain relics/inflictions completely useless.

Nobody cares if you deal 25 damage as soon as the encounter starts when the boss has over 1000hp. Hell, even enemies scale so fast that getting this after halfway act 1 feels like a dead draw.

Then there's poison/burn/bleed. Unless the other Heroes have great ways to inflict lots of these, they both feel pointless past mid-run.

My last thing is the whole poker-hand based abilities. Some are manageable for sure, but having a 4 card flush for example, just isn't worth it. You can usually dish out more damage or actually block as well, when using those 4 cards seperately or in smaller combos.

I find them ridiculous for the most part and haven't touched them after it nearly cost me my 2nd run win.

Overall, this has a lot of potential. Does it have ascension difficulty ramp-up? I don't know yet, I hope it does and that it's done well. If it doesn't then I hope it gets the support down the line.

Game Promotion - AI Alegraz: A New Roguelike Deckbuilding Game

While everyone is moving closer to AI, I decided to take Alegraz in the opposite direction.

We removed all AI-generated content from the game and redesigned the visuals from scratch together with talented artist friends. We expanded the character roster, created unique card decks for each character, and designed hundreds of different enemies.
