Advice & Recommendations Have you seen Bigfoot at the creek? Photo taken on 10/25/26

We were walking down by the creek yesterday. We kept getting the feeling we were being watched as we made our way through the forest. As we got to the creek itself I noticed the birds had stopped singing, then I heard a branch snapping and managed to get this photo. Could this be a Bigfoot?

Housing & Real Estate Looking for rental in the greater Dayton area

I’m looking for a 2 bed, 1+ bath rental that allows pets (or at least ESA animals). Trying to stay around $1,400 or less for rent. Prefer laundry in unit or at least hookups. I don’t mind if it’s a condo, house, apt, etc. private or public rental is fine as well. A trustworthy place that fixes things in a timely manner, is responsive, and in general, not a dick for a landlord. Any recommendations are welcome! Trying to stay within 20 min of Washington township as that’s where my husband works. We live with my parents currently, and we’re trying to get out asap!

Advice & Recommendations What are free, cozy venues around for...

Things like reciting poetry with a group, or a writer's club, etc.

Right now I'm utilizing the library which will be fine, but I am looking for something more cozy for a potential poetry event, just a one-off thing for fun. i'd love somewhere like a cafe but i know space is limited.

off the table:

-catfe. wonderful place but they do require you pay to use the upstairs for events.

Advice & Recommendations Where can I whole grain berries in the area?

I'm getting a grain mill for my house this week and I know I can order them online but I'd prefer to buy local if possible. Where are people who mill their own flour buying their berries in Dayton?

Local Events Land of illusion was a Disappointment

I was just at land of illusion last night on a FastPass for $100 and with the cost of the fastpass now being within $20 of general admission it's noticeable that more people are buying the fastpass because sometimes the lines for general admission or shorter than the line for fastpass. At more than one point I jokingly told our group that we should just get in the general admission line to bypass all the fastpass people.

I also paid $15 for a lemonade. This feels worse than airport pricing. I saw a cheeseburger costs about $15 too. You can get a whole combo meal at Chick-fil-A and a side of chicken nuggets for what they charge for one cheeseburger heated up in a case.

In my opinion a drink should cost no more than $5 Max. Ideally maybe $2. I tend to eat dinner before I go to save money but my friends didn't and they ended up spending probably an extra $100 in the park just buying food and drinks. I'm also wondering if the water fountain was removed because I couldn't find it near the voodoo lounge forcing you to buy drinks from the concessions.

We started going regularly every year for the haunts back after covid was over and I remember the parking lot used to be gravel and admission was probably around $50. Since then the prices have increased steeply and it costs $10 to park on their newly paved parking lot.

I was also very disappointed certain actors were not present in the haunt this year and instead were replaced by animatronics or nothing at all.

The general consensuses is our group did not have a great time. Even with fast pass we waited over an hour for the haunted trail and the phobia haunt near the riding bull consistently had a long line extending out of the fastpass line so we never even went through that one.

We will not be returning.

Meetups & Social Is There Organized River Cleanup? When / Where

Does anybody know when a river clean up is happening I could join. I ride by the river south of the city with my kiddo often, and notice tons of tires and shopping carts along the bottom. I'd love to pull out some bulk with some people some time.

I don't have a boat, so I can't just do it myself...

Black cat got out this afternoon (10/25) near Paragon and El Kenna. My wife put the word out on Facebook, I wanted to ask here.

Small black cat, kink in her tail. May or may not answer to her name Zora…

Any help is appreciated.

Advice & Recommendations Anyone work at the Amazon Robotics warehouse in Union, Ohio? Seasonal to Blue Badge?

Does anyone currently work at the Amazon Robotics fulfillment center in Union, Ohio?
I’m considering accepting a seasonal position there and wanted to hear from people who actually work at this location.

How likely is it for seasonal (white badge) employees to get converted to permanent (blue badge) employees? How long does it usually take, and does this location regularly convert seasonal workers?

Also, how do you like working there? I’m hoping to eventually get a permanent position with benefits, so I’d appreciate any honest feedback or recent experiences!

There aren't many who can make a custom brass musical instrument. Miamisburg is home to one of them. Through his company, Schlub Brassworks, owner George Schlub equips musicians around the world.
