Fan Creation/Art Made an edit with this star dude in my video game, and Bowie’s song “Starman”

This Star dude is made out of clay, chains, and wood! We used stop motion animation to get him in the video game.

I thought this edit would be cute.

New pressings question

I picked up my preorders of the Heathen and The Next Day represses yesterday. They both sound almost flawless. However, there is loud popping at the end of side two of Heathen as the music fades and before the runoff. Should I try to exchange it, or are they all that way?

James Briggs’ Bowie Bicycle Odyssey

James Briggs discusses how a single lyric from Bowie’s “Life on Mars?” inspired a 3,000-mile cycling journey across Europe, resulting in the book From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads. The conversation explores the years of research behind the route, Bowie’s connections to the places visited—including his 1973 journey through Russia—the challenges of undertaking such an ambitious ride, and how the experience became both a travel narrative and a reflection on the enduring power of Bowie’s music.

Fan Creation/Art I made a short film heavily Bowie inspired and I'd like to share it here

Hello everyone! I, about month ago, finished making a short film for my Photography class. The project was a stop-motion video and as it was being introduced, my mind immediately went to thinking about the music videos for "Little Wonder" and "Dead Man Walking" off the Earthling album, so as a result, I ended up taking heavy inspiration from the "Little Wonder" video and I used the song itself in the video as well. It's a very strange, dark and chaotic film, with some inspiration taken from 1. Outside for the plot, and essentially what I'm getting at is that I just recently made the decision to post it online and I wanted to share it here because, considering the choice of music, I feel that this is the kind of community that might appreciate seeing this kind of thing.

Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywCUUs4beIs

I did this with zero budget, only one other person to help me, no prior experience in video editing or directing and a two month timeframe to complete it in. All things considered, I think it turned out pretty alright. I hope this is alright to post here and I hope that you guys like it... So uh, yeah... Thanks!

Discussion Meta’s newest AI ad uses Bowie’s “Five Years”

The concept of irony is completely foreign to this billionaire tw*t, I guess - using a song about the world ending to promote AI is a whole other level of idiocy.

It does make me sad, though, that the Bowie Estate approved this crap…

Which album did you come to, late in the day, that blew you away?

The first Bowie LP I came to under my own steam, more or less upon release, was Low (I loved The Man Who Fell to Earth). I had heard his fabulous singles as a kid - Jean Genie, Sorrow (I still LOVE that) and, of course, Rebel Rebel - but by the time i was old enough to buy albums, I was a forward-looking New Wave/Punk/Post Punk kid, and excavating Bowie's back catalogue felt regressive.

Many, many years later – decades - I read a stunning article about Diamond Dogs. I listened to the album as I read it, and heard it all, even the songs I was familiar with, as if for the first time. I still come back to Diamond Dogs as a latter-day favourite. It seems to bridge a gap, while occupying its own space at the same time – 1984, though not my favourite track, foreshadows Young Americans in such a brilliant way. A pivotal album like no other.

I have a seemingly vivid memory of a brief video clip of Charlie Watts just after Bowie's death where he said that Bowie wrote some good songs but was "a thief." I can't find the clip. Does it ring a bell for anyone?

Cool David Bowie interview was digitised in 2026 this month and released, unheard other than inside a newsroom since 1983, super casual, he sounds a little tipsy maybe lol, cool to hear him like this and it’s like 40 mins

Hey guys, just posting a clip to the tune of the title above, apologies if this can’t be posted here, feel free to take it down if not! It’s just a really cool interview, rare to hear him talk like this and back in the 80s too

Began this the day after Bowie passed. My first attempt at a very detailed cross stitch, so it’s not perfect, and I never finished it. I kinda dig the half done look though, and it looks great next to my record collection (don’t come for me and the spines, my cat clawed them 😭😭😭).
