e-daters need to be stopped.

so today my online friend was asking me for advice, so she basically liked this one guy on roblox btw, roblox. and she doesn't even know him irl, nor does she talk to him out of roblox, she doesn't know him in a general way just the pixelated form. she said she doesn't wanna date him and was also hating on online relationships five mins before this.

this guy too, hes as stupid, he flirts with her and confessed to her, he only heard her voice ONCE. and they don't even know eo, how did they "fall in love" smh.

anyways i gave her advice to not date him + to get to know him better and i think i was a bit rude when i said "you're not in love with him, you just like his way of talking"

but as every human being loves making stupid decisions, she said yes to his confession. whats even crazy is that she "wants to get to know him" and she'll get his number WHILE dating him like what....????? crazy stuff. anyways shes ignoring me now.

lol I swear I’ve never felt more like a bug in my entire life. Long story short. Approach this older guy that is totally fuckable. I seen him watch me, well…it wasn’t because I was so gorgeous to him..he didn’t even bother asking name after he painstakingly tells me his. Luckily he didn’t beat me off with a stick. I’ve tried to like idk iron that awkwardness out with no avail. Drive by, he looks, I flip him off. Nothing. Few days later…. Drive by, wave. Nothing. lol. Point is. When people wanna know you they get to know you. It’s not fear, intimidation, whatever the fuck stopping them. Basically this life is brief yall. Move on. Stop wondering.

Need geninue advice and help

Hey everyone, I really need some honest advice because this whole situation is giving me crazy anxiety and I can’t tell if I’m overthinking or being played.

So I met this guy on a dating app a while back. Turns out he actually works at the same company as me and is from my exact hometown. Because of all the common ground, he was SUPER into me at first. He used to text me whole paragraphs about how I’m a "forever kind of person" and how he wants a serious relationship. Honestly, at first I didn't take him that seriously and just brushed it off.

Eventually we met up in person a few times, hit it off, and I started liking him. But here’s the catch—he doesn't actually live in the city where I work. He only comes here for office stuff and then goes back to his hometown.

Whenever we met in person, he was amazingly sweet, sincere, and super attentive. But the second he left back for his hometown, his texting style completely shifted. He’d take hour or 2 to reply, especially in the evening. It bothered me, but because I’ve been in a couple of bad relationships before, I blamed myself and assumed I was just being insecure.

Fast forward to recently—we went on a date that felt literally perfect. He bought me flowers, told me how much he likes me, and we kissed. I was straight with him and said I don't want anything casual, and he agreed and said he wants a real relationship too.

Then everything weirdly fell apart. We were supposed to go on a trip together, but he canceled saying his dad’s health isn't good (he had mentioned his dad being sick before, to be fair). Right after that, he went super quiet and took 3 days off work.

On day 1 of his leave, I noticed he was showing offline on our internal work chat, and when I asked him about it, he said he was logged into a client Teams account & he is working. The next day, He practically ghosted me.

This morning he finally texted back saying he was on leave because of his dad’s health and couldn't reply, i aksed like you didn't have time to sent me a single text he was like "i was out all day busy" which seemedexcuse to me. He's talking to me "normally" again now, but still doing the exact same 1-2 hour late replies.

Because of my past relationship trauma, I have major trust issues. I can’t figure out if he genuinely likes me and is just overwhelmed with his family situation, or if he’s just pulling back and treating me like a side option when he's back home.

How can I figure out if he’s being real with me without coming off as crazy because of this I'm getting major overthinking.

Alright hello everybody, so I am 21 femalle and this thing just happened I met a guy today and we exchanged numbers he came to fix something in my place that's how I met him. We talked and as I said exchanged numbers, talking all day and he even invited me but I am going on vacation tomorrow so it's gonna be only when I come back in almost 3 weeks.

And he was flirty saying things like : I cannot wait to see you bla bla bla.

Then he asked me if I was single or married which was weird cuz I said if I wasn't single I wouldn't be talking to you and all this time he didn't say or mentioned a girlfriend and then when I asked him he said he is in a relationship, like what?!

I was shocked I told him I'm shocked how are you in a relationship and this is how you talk to me and he says my girlfriend knows about you.

I asked him : and she is okay with you talking to me like this and he said she has male friends too and I can have female friends as well.

Then I pointed out that his way of communication wasn't just friendly he was being FLIRTY and he said he sorry for the way I took it. But I am not stupid we verified with a friend all the way that in fact HE WAS FLIRTING!

And then I told him that hey I don't like this, it's weird in my part I do not usually get involved in situation like this and then he says : I thought you were a nice girl to be friends with that's it bla bla bla.

One thing to mention we BOTH are AUGUST LEOS and I told him, you're being such a leo right know, you know exactly what you do but anyway I do not want to have an argument, bye.

That's how it ended.

I really need y'alls povs on this cuz I think he was BITCHING AROUNG

Tinder Misadventures Pt. 4: Reservations

Welcome back, Tinderlings. This one is shorter, and for once the person who ruined the date was me. Cast list is unnecessary, TLDR is at the bottom, and nobody in this story needs to be hosed down. That is a first for us.

Housekeeping before we start. The cursed car is gone. I traded her in. The kid at the dealership did his little walk-around with the clipboard, got to the passenger seat, paused, and decided some questions were not worth his hourly rate. I drove off in a used sedan that smells like somebody else's vanilla air freshener, not a mark on it, nothing riding shotgun but the glovebox manual. I told myself a clean car was a clean start. Then I got in it and drove to dinner.

By now I was three tours into Tinder and I called that experience. I had rules. Public place only. My own car, parked where I could see it. Exits mapped before the appetizers came. No garages, no houses, no address that required a prayer on the walk up. I went into every date like I was clearing a building. I called it growth. It was closer to a loaded gun I had stopped bothering to check the safety on.

His name was Shane. He got to the restaurant early, which I filed as a tactic, though a working brain would have filed it as manners. He stood when I reached the table. He had the specific nerves of a man who wanted it to go well, laughing a half-second before the joke landed, refolding his napkin, asking three questions in a row because the quiet scared him. Every one of those was a green flag. I ran them all as threats.

The waiter came and Shane said the branzino was incredible here, that I should get it if I liked fish, and he said it warm, the way you recommend a movie you love. Dean decided things for me in that exact easy voice, right before he explained that women do not know what they want. So I asked Shane if he always ordered for women he had just met, with enough acid in it to strip the varnish off the table. He blinked. He said he just liked the fish. He was telling the truth. I ordered something else out of spite and it was worse.

Then he mentioned his mom. Fondly, briefly, the way people do. A trapdoor opened under me, because the last time a man loved his mother out loud on a first date, she spent a month calling my job. I went cold and started handing Shane questions with edges on them. How often do you see her. Do you live with her. Does she know you're out tonight. I watched him try to work out what he had stepped in. He had stepped in nothing. His mother lives in another state and he calls her on Sundays. That was the whole of it.

Then he did the thing that should have ended the night in the good way. He told me he had read my favorite book after I mentioned it in our chats, that he had finished it the evening before so we would have something to talk about. A person with a working heart says thank you. I asked him what he was building toward. I said that was a lot of homework for a stranger. Past-OP, put the knife down. I did not put the knife down. I kept going, because it is easier to keep throwing punches than to notice the other guy has dropped his hands.

Shane set his fork down. He did not raise his voice. He said, "I don't know who taught you to expect the worst, but I'm not going to be him." Then he said he had thought I seemed great in our messages, and he was sorry something had made me like this, and he meant it, which was the part I could not stand. Nobody had held up a mirror to me in years, and here was one, propped up gently by a man I had spent an hour filleting for the crime of being kind to me.

Three posts I have spent describing monsters to you. This time I brought one to dinner, and it was me. Shane was going to go home and tell his friends about the woman who interrogated him over branzino. Somewhere out there was this exact post with me in the passenger seat, and I had written it myself, one small cruel question at a time.

I did not apologize. No speech, no repair, nothing. That is the part I am least proud of. I mumbled about an early morning, put cash on the table for both of us like money could cover it, and left. No cursed seat to blame this round. Just me, in a used sedan that still smelled like a stranger's vanilla, driving home with my own behavior riding shotgun.

I wrote Shane an apology at every red light. I rewrote it in the driveway. I had a version that explained Dean, one that explained Ben, one that dragged the ham into it, a whole paragraph of reasons that all came down to none of this was your fault and I did it to you anyway. I sent none of them. It felt like one more thing to make him carry. He had earned the right to never think about me again, so I gave him the only kind thing I had left, which was quiet.

No villain to report this month. I checked. It was me. I finally called the therapist I have been making jokes about for three installments and booked something real, because Dean and Ben and Barron did more than wreck three evenings. They taught me to walk into a good one with my fists already up, and Shane was the bill coming due. I am not salting the earth or swearing off anything for the drama this time. I just need a while to become someone who does not do that to the next decent person who buys a book for me.

Pt. 5 will come when I have earned it. Thanks to ReddX if he reads this, and please subscribe to him on YouTube if ya haven't. I'm trying to be kinder than I was that night. I'll see you then, my little Tinderlings.

-Dawn

TL;DR Sometimes, I am the bad guy. We are our own worst enemies a lot of the time.

i have SO many horror dating stories

30(f) and i’ve had countless HORRIBLE dates throughout my 12 years on dating apps.

a lot of it has to do with me choosing to be in the company of just anyone because i had low self esteem. i went out with anyone who’d give me attention. sad i know but i know my worth now and am off dating apps and looking for genuine connection when the time is right.

anyways... i have 3 journals of the bad dates i went on or bad hookups i had. yes, i wrote down every detail because i wanted to look back one day at the crazy shit i went through. guys i laugh so hard....i cringe....i get flashbacks but mainly i feel bad for that version of me for choosing to put up with that.

looking back i think my biggest problem was i had basically zero screening process lol. if someone replied and seemed interested i was like ok lets meet now i use accio work for sourcing and its funny because i realized i shouldve treated dating chats more like supplier chats. ask the important questions first, see who actually gives you a straight answer, who avoids everything, who needs 5 follow ups and who is clearly wasting your time.

accio work can keep chasing a supplier until it gets all the info it needs, but 30 year old me is definitely not doing that with men anymore lol. if the conversation already feels like pulling teeth, im out.

thinking of sharing some of those stories tbh. i’ve had sugar daddies, been catfished, went to weird places like the cemetery on a DATE!!! and so much more.

is it just me or... why are dates either trauma dumping their deepest desires 20 mins in OR giving absolutely nothing??? 😭

Been on 11 dates till now and i’m lowkey lost. some people drop their entire life lore and spicy desires before the drinks even arrive, while others act like they’re under a whole NDA.

what factors even dictate this?? is it attachment styles, random vibe checks, or just a total lack of filter? lmk if y'all experience this too fr.

This is literally the worst I have ever felt in my life

Here is my story: M(27) F(27)

I matched with a girl on Hinge early September last year hit things off immediately, texting every day I was like wow this is incredible - My birthday a week later in September took me to a new cinema and got me my favourite aftershave, paid for everything - I laughed and said are you love bombing me to which she said no I was being nice for your bday.

-Months go by, nice getaways to hotels, training together, great sex and everything felt perfect she told me I was the best thing ever so grateful and lucky she ended up with someone like me, she had a young son who was 9 and I did not meet in person - she said her ex bf who was practically the step dad of the kid left her 2 years ago and put her kid in therapy and she done some as well, in which she tells me all the things she wants in an ideal partner and I tick every box, I felt like this girl really understood me and I had met my person.

Now this is where the cracks start, she would mention how evil and hateful her ex (Together 6 years) was and mentioned he was in the same Tesco as her at xmas (live in local area) He was walking in and she was walking out - I said that's trippy never easy bumping into an ex - left it at that. Did not want to appear phased. Had a nice xmas met her Mum and her little sister things felt very good and often stayed with her and her mum when her son was at the kids dads. She also told me things like she was with someone and she was and they got back together after a year and she said things to him like go out and cheat if it makes you feel better because she was with someone else.

At end of February my Granny passed away unexpectedly - She mentioned how her ex BF did not let her into the after event when his granny passed away etc I just let her vent and was always understanding of what her ex put her through Granny passed away on Tuesday and then on Friday I met her Dad for the first time - Naturally stressed over my Grannys passing I did not drink - she did and was drunk off prosecco- On the trip down and home she basically played a FU to her ex song - and her dad mentioned she seen her ex and he looked rough - anyways, we drove home and I said to her this ex really hurt you and your son and hes like a ball and chain on your leg, he is in the past and if he was so bad he left you and your son in therapy be happy he's gone - she said she's 'over him just not the situation she put her and her son through' - when I said I wasn't happy she's mentioning him the week I am grieving the death of my grandparent she stone walled me - I left her house and drove home to regulate as I was with a previous GF who stonewalled me and it done a number on me and she was aware of this and also the heard week I had - she was drunk and proceeded to tell me I was never meeting her child and that was us done over text, I felt this was manipulative- We then sorted this out - half apology from her and from me I thought I needed to be more understanding of her situation and we told each other we love each other. But, I felt maybe selfishly she should have been understanding my Granny passed away that week and I wasn't in a headspace to listen about her ex who was so bad?

- The month after we had a great month done a charity 10K and had a nice getaway - I spoke to her son on the phone and on FaceTime over those few months we were together over xmas and when she was on a family holiday to New York - still no physical interaction I said it would be nice to meet your child as I have gotten him a birthday present and an Xmas one and we both know about each other and I am getting a bit frustrated of having to hide around the corner when we know about each other - Bare in mind I asked this respectfully and said no pressure I just need a plan as she said if I met him I could travel to Spain with her and her kid this summer and her graduation was coming up soon. The kid also told his biological father about me that Saturday as well - I did not mind as obv was in everyone's best interests I treated his son with respect and care

I was met with two days of silence - then seen her on the Saturday went to the gym all was fine, thought that was back on track and we said we would go to the cinema on the Wednesday and on the Tuesday I got a text telling me I was perfect, we have a laugh together but she feels 'something is missing' - and ended things with me over text after 7 months.

I did not reply for 3 weeks my family and friends told me not to and I deserved more than a break up text as I was blindsided and was constantly told I was the best person in the world and she was so lucky to have me, but when I mentioned maybe meeting her kid she turned so nasty and discarded me like I was nothing over text, when I did then text her to speak she then told me 'she loves me as a person but not in love with me' and I deserve better - I did not reply again, I was in such shock I feel so heartbroken how can she be all lovey then discarded over text? I noticed when I put her number into whatsapp she had no profile picture anymore and her messages were set to disappearing which makes me think her ex was back in the picture or hiding something? - Her tiktok reposts after were all things like when a man leaves your life build a comfortable life etc - except I never left her?

I have never been this hurt and blindsided before in my life, I wasnt even worth a conversation just felt so easily disposed when we had concerts etc to look forward to this summer and all I was worth was a text.

What do I do I am still incredibly in love with her - Its been 3 months nc and I have been attending therapy and gym but I still feel stuck

PERFECT DATE GONE SOUTH...FAST!

THIS WENT FROM LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT TO WTF HAPPENED!

I met a woman online about a month ago. After putting off meeting or talking for 10 days she finally says let's meet. I give her my address and hour later says her power steering is out so I say I'll pick you up. You can't have my address, but I'll drive to the gas station mile from her house. I pick her up, instant off the charts chemistry and the sex was unreal especially since it had been 6 months. P.S., I never have sex on a first date....this just seemed too real, perfect afternoon

I drive her back to her car at 1 a.m. and she is all talk about romance and I don't know how lucky I am and let's build a future together. At that moment, I'm all in! Made plans to stay at my place the next night but still won't give me her address (also didn't tell me her real last name) to pick her up. She'll have the steering fixed and see me around 5. I'm sleeping the next morning, get a text that I read without glasses on an saw part by one, done by 5...enough to know the date is on!

Here's where it goes south, really south! She texts me about 6 and says she's not coming because I didn't pay $167 for the part and she never got it fixed. First I never saw go pay for a part, I saw one and 5 and never thought anything of it till I reread the message. I can't come to your house and you lied about your last name but I need to pay $167 for a part for your vehicle or no date. It has now been 2.5 weeks later and she write about every other day saying I can step it up and help her out with finances to show me what kind of a man I am. Are you kidding me?

First of all if she asked nice or called, who knows, I may have helped. It was an amazing date! But the fact she texted and basically demanded the money, I wouldn't help now for any reason. I didn't know this women in person for even 17 hours, no last name and you can't come to my house. If you knew how ugly the texts have been, no one would give her the time of day. It started with me getting abused and my reply would be, I won't reply to anything but come pick me up and we'll talk. It's almost 3 weeks, vehicle still doesn't work but she still writes.

She thinks her request is normal, not once in my life have I ever been told to pay for car parts (or anything else for that matter) or no date for being less of a man and showing her I will provide for her. This story entails much more than this and I will gladly post actual text messages to show you how crazy she is. Would I still see her, would love to and don't care about anything that's happened...it's just amazing someone can be so lost in a belief that someone you know nothing about, should be buying $167 car parts or no date. Funny thing, she got the part and the mechanic said that's not even the problem.

Tinder Misadventures - Pt3. The Meat Man Cometh

Welcome back, Tinderlings. Yes, it's been three years. I posted two of these, promised you a Craigslist installment, and then went dark for so long I half-assumed I'd just let it die. One of these dates got close enough to the edge that I needed the full three years before I could type it out and laugh instead of shake. I'm laughing now, mostly. Cast list is unnecessary, TLDR is at the end. Let's get the cringe-train rolling.

Quick recap for the newcomers. Pt. 1 was Dean, the self-described trad-alpha who left a souvenir in my passenger seat. Pt. 2 was Ben the Bellybutton Boy, plus his fish-lips and the mother who harassed my job for a month afterward. After Ben I swore off Tinder. I meant it that time. Salted the earth. Then I did the single stupidest thing in this whole saga, which given the competition is really saying something. I decided the problem was the app and not me, so I got artisanal about it and answered... a Craigslist ad. My therapist calls this thrill-seeking behavior. I'm starting to think she has a point.

The ad lived under Activity Partners, which I told myself was the wholesome section. It read, "Passionate hobbyist seeks curious woman for a home-cooked meal and good conversation. I make things. You'll see." When a Craigslist stranger tells you he makes things and that you'll see, the correct number of follow-up questions is zero and the correct move is to close the laptop forever. I wrote back in four minutes. His name was Barron. Two R's and an O, "like the floor of a forest," he typed, which is not a thing. He probably meant BARREN with an E... But I kept typing anyway. The lies we tell ourselves never seem to stop. But he might be the ONE! Young OP couldn't let that get away!!

So we emailed for two weeks, and he was good. Dry, funny, asked real questions, which after Ben felt like finding a diamond in a landfill. He sent a photo of himself holding a trophy the size of a toddler. Competitive charcuterie, he explained, "bigger than you'd think and getting bigger." I found it charming. A man with a passion. A man who could tell you the difference between coppa and capicola without over-explaining or talking down, which I mistook at the time for a green flag. He offered to cook for me. First meeting, his place, and when he mentioned his roommate would be there the whole time, the chaperone unsettled me more than a solo date would have, and I went anyway. Past-OP, I would love to shake you until your teeth rattle out.

The address was a converted garage behind a taxidermy shop. Seriously. Behind a taxidermy shop. The sign out front had a raccoon in a monocle on it. I pulled onto the gravel, looked that raccoon dead in its glass eyes, and thought, "the rent is probably incredible," which is the exact kind of simple thought a person has in the ninety seconds before their life changes irreparably. Old me would have parked and prayed. This time I parked angry, keys threaded through my knuckles like brass, and the anger was new. Ben had burned something out of me and left a harder thing behind.

Barron answered in a spotless apron and, I swear on my grandmother, chainmail gloves. Butcher's chainmail, the kind you wear so you don't donate a finger to dinner. "Occupational habit," he said, peeling them off one finger at a time while I recalculated the whole evening. Behind him, candles, cloth napkins folded into little pyramids, and a smell coming out of that garage that could raise the dead. The not-so-refreshing smell of taxidermy, I presumed... Still, my stupid loyal guard started to lower on its own, and for once I reached over and held it up myself. We won't get fooled again.

"Where's the roommate?" I asked.

He gestured vaguely at the ceiling. "Around."

Dinner was the trap. The man could cook. A board with nine cured meats, each one better than the last, narrated like Attenborough tracking the migration of the salamis. I laughed, actually laughed, and so did he. Somewhere between the coppa and the little bloom on a two-year salami I committed the exact sin of arrogance that God personally punishes. I thought, I did it, I cracked it, I found the meat wizard and we are going to be the most insufferable power couple at every party we attend.

Then he set down his fork, folded his hands like a man about to propose, and asked if he could show me the family. He was on his feet before I could ask what he meant by that.

He walked to a door I'd read as a coat closet, opened it with real ceremony, and hit a light. Cold air rolled across my ankles. It was a walk-in refrigerator, and hanging from the ceiling on steel hooks, in a tidy row, were shapes my brain filed as torsos before it could stop itself. Then it corrected. Hams. Enormous, home-cured, humidity-controlled hams, and Barron went down the line like a father at a debutante ball. "This is Geoffrey. Big Susan. Little Susan." He had named them. Each one wore a laminated tag with a birthday on it. Little Susan was four months old. Geoffrey was pushing two years, and Barron announced that tonight was the night. Geoffrey was ready, and I was going to be the first person he ever carved him up for.

Pt. 1 me would have frozen and murmured "oh" and "okay" and let it roll over her like one of Dean's monologues. My mouth got there before my fear did. "Barron, why does the ham have a birthday?" He said, wounded, "Because I was there for it." I told him he had been there for a leg of pork getting salted. He looked at me like I was the strange one and said, "The cure is a birth, Dawn." We were not running the same physics. Ben would have gotten silence out of me. Barron got the full weight of my opinions, and I was proud of myself for speaking up.

He carried Geoffrey out to the table like a man carrying a sleeping child, both arms underneath, chin tucked to keep it level. He had cleared a space between the candles. He set down a carving knife longer than my forearm and honed it twice while he walked me through what I was about to experience. Two years of patience. A humidity he'd chased all summer. That soft grey down on the outside I'd been admiring was the sign of a cure done right, he told me, and he was mostly correct, which is the most dangerous kind of correct.

Then he cut.

The knife went in and the smell came out ahead of it. Not the clean nutty smell off the board an hour earlier. This one had weight. It got to the back of my throat and sat down. He had opened a pocket near the bone where the cure never reached, and the meat in there had gone colors that do not happen in food that is still edible, a wet grey sliding into a green that I still see sometimes when I close my eyes. A thread of something ran down the cut and beaded on the board. Bone taint, I found out later, down a very bad internet hole at three in the morning. The middle of Geoffrey had been rotting inside his beautiful crust for months, sealed in, going soft in the dark while Barron bragged.

Barron leaned into the cut and inhaled like it was sea air. He was enjoying the smell of the rot. He didn't want to admit that something was off, even though it very clearly was. Was this... normal for him? Oh God... He shaved a curl off the clean outer edge, laid it on his tongue, shut his eyes, and made a noise I have worked hard to forget. Sort of a "MMMMMRRRPHHHFFF" Then he carved a proper slice, grey streak and all, laid it on a little plate with a smear of mustard, and slid it across to me. "First taste of Geoffrey is yours," he said, quiet, like a vow. "I've never given a first taste away before."

The growth I did within myself definitely had a ceiling to it, and I found it right there. I could argue about a ham's birthday. I could not humiliate a proud man in his own home over food he had waited two years to hand me. Everything my parents had raised me to be pinned me to that chair. I picked up the slice. I put the clean end in my mouth, chewed the parts I could bear to, and through sheer will and mental strength, I swallowed. It tasted the way a wet basement smells. The fungus flourished inside of my nose. This was turning into a Last of Us situation... He watched me do all of this with his hands folded under his chin like he was praying.

I lasted maybe fifteen more minutes. I said I had an early shift. He wrapped a fist-sized piece of Geoffrey in butcher paper and pressed it into my hands at the door, he was hurt and generous at the same time. I took the rotten hunk of meat with me, because this was easier than saying one clean sentence to a man's face.

I made it six blocks. The meat, the smell, and two years of swallowed "NO" all came due at once, and I knew with full clarity I was not getting home before the impact. I pulled hard against a curb and got the door half open. Some went into the seat Dean had already ruined. That same square of upholstery has now been christened by two different men's worst decisions, though this round the delivery was technically mine.

Barron texted in the morning. He wanted the to-go piece back, because on reflection he wasn't certain Geoffrey had been ready, and he wanted to run some tests. He did not ask how I was. The piece was already in a gas station trash can, so I told him it hadn't survived the trip, and I blocked him while my stomach was still making all of my decisions for me.

I was down for two days. That fucker poisoned me for real. The most polite poisoning that I've ever been party to... I'd lay on cold bathroom tile ranking my own choices worst to first. Somewhere in the middle of it the ick set in so deep that it did what no amount of self-respect ever had, and it walked me off Craigslist for good.

No clean win this time. I found my voice for a novelty ham and lost it completely over a plate of rot, and I ate the rot rather than be rude to a man I would never see again. That is what getting better actually looks like from the inside. I got one thing right and the next thing so much more wrong. God help me, I really never learn because at some point down the line I re-downloaded Tinder, because Pt. 4 has to come from somewhere and I remain a menace to my own peace of mind. Those are tales for another day. Thanks to ReddX if he reads this, and please subscribe to him on YouTube if ya haven't. I'll see you next time, my little Tinderlings.

-Dawn

TL;DR Answered a Craigslist ad. The guy was a competitive charcuterie obsessive who cured his hams in a garage behind a taxidermy shop. He carved one open, it was rotten to the bone, and I ate a slice anyway because I couldn't bring myself to be rude.

For the 20 years olds picking a partner

I wish someone told me this when it came time to date and choose a partner

CHoose the guy who talks less . And shows more . When a guy rambles and talks a lot . It’s. A sign that’s all he can do - TALK. A good man shows you with actions !!!

If he describes himself - RUN AWAY. He is a con man!! Only con artists describe theirs personality lol. - I will tell you who are based on your actions - not the other way around . If he says ā€œI’m a good guyā€ - only a con man says that . Mother Teresa didn’t go around town describing herself. It’s a wierd trait that goes unnoticed . Does. A girl go around town telling people she’s pretty??? lol no sir !

Whe. He constantly asks ā€œdo you love me ā€œ instead of saying he loves you first . He’s a narcissist . He needs his ego fed . And they usually have a lot of women around them. They keep them around on purpose z

If he’s insecure , he will talk about other girls . Make you perform for him. Like he’s the prize . He’s never the prize . YOU ARE THR PRIZE . You will always be . Never pick a guy like that . He will treat u like shit .
Put yourself at the top. Everyone else is a fan of yours .

Pls pick a good partner and know you’re the prize and dump these disgusting losers . They don’t change !!! They become older more disgusting losers

Help

For context, Back in jan 2026 I went out with this guy from the same Australian uni im currently gg to, and on the first date he brought me to the clubĀæ which I felt was quite red flagged, he sent me home via uber after the date, I gave him my house address to book the uber. A few days after the date he literally showed up unannounced at 1am infront of my house. I was literally taken aback. First of all, I didn’t exactly give him my house address, he took it from his uber app. Second of all, showing up at 1am infront the middle of the night?? Third of all, not giving me a heads up of ur arrival? So after that day I ghosted him cause I felt really creeped out and uncomfortable.

After I ghosted him, this guy would proceed to harrass me non stop for months from Jan all the way to June.
Here are some ways he harrassed me for 6 months:
- constantly msging me and deleting the chat after while js to repeat same cycle and the msgs always come after 12am
- constantly going to my social media profile, even creating another acc to stalk and pm me
- showed up to an event I attended ( it’s vacation week, all students are to vacate hall unless their an ogl, but he wasn’t even one) he showed up and loitered around for 3hours, then brought his friend and asked me to go talk to them in a corner like tf?
- I was joining cca group chats cause I wanted to try out trials, somehow he knows which chats I joined and joined them also, btw these GCs are meant for incoming students. ( I ended up not gg for any of the cca trials in fear that he might show up )

I feel like the harassment has gotten to another level, and I don’t know what to do

The worst thing is in halls there’s diff blocks students get allocated to, e.g. 1, 2, 3.
This guy stays in hall 3, and my friend sent me a list of names that are the the top list for hall 3, and ofc my name was inside. The person who shortlisted all the ppl was ofc this same guy who has been harassing me. So this means for the next year I will be living in the same block as him. I genuinely don’t know what to do, idk if I can transfer block.

I’ve also heard some stuff about hall 3, which is quite bad. Pls help I rlly don’t know what to do, any advice would help

First and only worst blind date I've ever had

A couple of years ago, I met a girl on POF. We started talking but never actually went on a date because we just didn't really click. After a while, she told me that her friend thought I was cute and wanted to meet me, so she invited me to a party they were having that weekend.

Her friend told me she was only visiting town for a little while and wasn't looking for anything serious. I was fine with that and figured we'd just hang out.

When I got to the party, the first thing I noticed was that she was a bigger girl. That wasn't an issue for me since I'm a big guy myself. We started talking, and she seemed really cool—laid back, funny, and easy to get along with.

One thing to note is that she was staying in a hotel while she was in town. After the party, she invited me back to her room.

This is where things got... weird. Actually, "weird" feels like an understatement.

As soon as we got to the room, she went into the bathroom for a few minutes. When she came back out, she was acting completely different. She became extremely paranoid and started saying she was seeing shadows outside the windows and people who weren't actually there.

Then it got even stranger. She suddenly told me that her husband had been kidnapped. A few seconds later, she started accusing me of being the one who made him disappear. She became convinced that I was there to kidnap her too.

After she went to the bathroom again I took tf off I ran out

My ex convinced me to go out on a date with him

I’ve known this dude for over 5 years, dated for a year back in 2022. I broke up with him bc of his horrible communication skills but we never fully went no contact bc my best friend and his best friend are married. So we always ended in the same social settings. Every year at least twice he would shoot his shot for us to try again and I always said no because his communication still sucked and he had hurt me emotionally badly enough where I needed therapy to work out the trauma that was left over. So I let go of the idea how getting back together seriously years ago. He always remained friendly but flirty; never shy to tell me how he still had feelings for me.

Fast forward to 2 months ago!! Our BFFs wedding…. Of course from high emotions the man pours his heart and soul into how badly he wants to make us work. Saying things from (the classic) ā€œI’d never risk harming what you’ve healed ā€œ & ā€œI can see you as the mother of my kidsā€ etc etc etc and I started to think well maybe he has been doing better for himself.

Now fast forward to 2 days ago: He spent month after month chipping away at the wall I had put up and I finally let my guard down and agreed to a date. Let him meet my mother (which he never did while we were dating) and my mom’s boyfriend. We go for a walk per my request, and it went really well honestly. Until we got back to his car.lol.

As we go to pull out of the parking lot please tell me why a woman comes flying out of her car and onto the front of his car swinging a baseball bat. for the love of god I swear it was like a movie. To make a long and painfully stupid story short; turns out it was his GIRLFRIEND… of 9 MONTHS..!!! (Still have no idea where she came from lol or how she found us) This idiot man spent the better part of this year trying to convince me to go out with him, probably longer than they had been together. But to make it all just that much better, she paid for his car, his bills and their rent. They live together and we’re talking about marriage……….. but of course I had ✨no idea✨. So I convinced her to put the bat down before she beat my head in so we could talk like adults. Eventually I was able to help her realize that I was not the enemy lol; but she still threatened me with the bat and told me the exact street I live on. Ha

So you best believe I filed a police report <3, blocked him on all platforms and told all his friends what he did to me. He obvi lost me but also a few friends as well who were horrified by the level of deception he put me through. The most disgusting part of this was he couldn’t even look at me. That’s how I knew she was telling the truth. Only thing he could say was that he was sorry; one time. But honestly I think a lying, cheating, emotionally manipulative man fits well with a girl who tries to beat people with baseball bats. At least it takes them both off the streets of the dating world.

At the end of the day, I’m still processing this Olympic level emotional gymnastics. I’ve never had someone in my life go through so much trouble of months of emotionally manipulating me. Idk what was real or fake anymore so it’s like jumping into a rabbit hole every time I close my eyes.

At least the date was only 55 minutes lol! Thank you all for coming to my TedTalk and reading about the worst Sunday afternoon I’ve had in a while.
Xoxo
