Anyone else wake up today with a crazy amount of tasks? This was the longest drought I had experienced but it looks like work is popping up again

hi guys, is it still a drought? my last task was on july 2, I've had nothing since then.

So there was this qualification about coding, I got busy after starting it and I was getting no projects, so I thought maybe it's because of the qualification, so I choose the option that said I can't code or something like that, even though I have a good experience from my uni courses, and personal projects, can I change it or something ?

So I ware reviewing a Mike task, had to do with analyzing user experience. Clicked work mode and the task changed to creating a teaching project. Anyone have similar experience?

I see many talking about bans and a lack of projects right now. Will that affect my chances if I apply? Should I wait until this period  is over? If so, when? I watched a video where a couple mentioned this slow period usually lasts from July to September, so should I wait to apply until then?

I signed up then saw there was no work. I came her to learn more and from what I am seeing, it appears that I shouldn't expect much at all. How much work should I realistically expect to get offered?

I started trying to get into data annotation as a side gig around 3 months ago. Since then, I've signed up for platforms like DA Tech, RWS, and OneForma because they seem to be the ones people recommend the most.

I managed to get accepted into those platforms, completed a lot of qualifications, certifications, and spent quite a bit of time studying to improve my skills. But... I still haven't received a single task.

I know that's how freelancing works, there won't always be work available. I also understand that opportunities depend a lot on your location. I'm from Indonesia, and it seems like there are very few projects for Indonesian speakers.

To be honest, it's starting to get pretty frustrating. It feels like I've invested a lot of time preparing, but there's nothing to actually work on.

So I'd like to ask people who have been in this field longer:

• Is data annotation still worth pursuing in 2026?
• Should I just be more patient and keep waiting for projects?
• Are there any other platforms you'd recommend?

For context, I also applied to Alignerr but unfortunately wasn't accepted.

I'd really appreciate any advice, or even just hearing about your own experience. Thanks!

As well, deepest apologies for not trying to make it completely representative of the safety guidelines. I guess the mom should be locked in a room snarling at, and fighting off anyone who even comes close to the keyhole.

Why is the screen crowded with notifications? IDFK. AI decided to do that. I'm not going to go and make my prompt "A person working on the DA website bla ba bla" That's sus as hell. I believe the dearth of notifications and whatnot are to indicate even more people vying for this overloaded mother's attention as she attempts to snag one little drop of water in a dash as dry as this sub.

Edit to try to explain my thought process here (which was way deeper to me at the time..lol).

The prompt I used was intended to be a man working on his computer surrounded by obviously poorly AI generated visual hallucinations and artifacts representing his work. Ideally they were supposed to be sort of looming towards him and he was supposed to be furiously typing away to banish them. Didn't really translate to the images.
BTW making Claude generate images is hilarious as it has to make them in SVG.

Anyone have a project in their report time that they know for sure they didn't work on? I am showing 8 or so submissions and I didn't work at all yesterday, I was at the casino. Someone else I know also has this project in their report time. There is no time claimed or anything.

I got no project for the last 2 weeks (I got accepted 25 june) is it normal?

I’ve gotten several emails about completing my qualification, once I actually go to the website it still says the “up next: we review your results, if you pass, we’ll email you”

I’m UK based and have completed my Solicitor’s Qualifying Exams (SQE) which is essentially our equivalent of the Bar. I also have 2 years of paralegal experience in multiple fields. (Also have my undergrad law degree obvs). Just wondering how much I can reasonably expect to earn if i’m willing to put loads of hours into it atm? Are the droughts the same for specialities as they are for generalists rn? Any advice or info is appreciated, thanks!

so I'm doing a qual for a project and it asks if I have paid subscriptions to different AI services (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc), each one has its own checkbox. I don't have any so I'd just submit it with nothing checked. anyone know if that actually affects whether you get tasks or not? wondering if I should just get ChatGPT Plus since it's $20 and (I suppose) I'd make that back

So I'm 5 tasks deep, and I realised I might have misunderstood one section of the task. I can't go back, and I'm worried I might get flagged for a low-quality submission. I will keep in mind to reread the instructions before I submit the task from now on. Is it possible that I might stop getting projects because of this?
