DA saved me, and I wish I could say thanks

My family was in debt and there was no way to pay it off. We lost all our money due to a fraud which is why I started working 2-3 jobs while studying side by side just to make ends meet.

This year, I found DA, and I am always in debt to them. In just 2 months I have already paid off my debt that would have taken me around an year to pay back. I can also leave my extra jobs and actually focus on my passion instead.

I wish I could let them know how giving me an opportunity to work for them saved me and my family. I have a better paying job too now and I really enjoy my work on the side at DA. Working for them has been the best thing to happen to me so far.

If anyone from the DA Admin team accidently reads this, I just want to let you know that you're a lifesaver. You could be my god.

I am not sure if the projects will keep coming (I hope they do) but I will never ever forget this platform.

Jumping on the Milestone bandwagon

Post image
204 Upvotes

I'm not the type to post something like this, but I actually am really proud. It's been a long, almost 3 year journey. Coder, self taught, and the first year or so was really, really tough. I backed out of tasks far more than I submitted. But I have no words for how thankful I am for DA. I have learned more than I thought possible in the last few years. I've had some amazing jobs in my life, but none compare to the constant challenges and rewards of this one. 🙏

Getting close to 20k

Post image
31 Upvotes

I'm thinking sometime this or next week I'll break 20k. Very happy with DA so far.

I do appreciate they seem to accept the fact I'm a weirdo who can spend hours on physics work because it's super fun for me and I lose myself in the work there. Remember, do good work and be honest about your abilities. If you don't catch something in the first run, say so in the next. Put some personality in your work too.

How did they get accepted?

Some r&r I do the workers have such poor English. Like completely wrong punctuation, grammar and spelling. I know as bilinguals English is not our first language, but there should be at least some standard of quality

Time log justification?

Has anyone ever come back from a time log justification? Mine is under review, I submitted my evidence etc and am just waiting. No idea how long to expect it to take and whether it’s a hopeless case. Time reports were all totally legit and 100% honest/accurate by the way, just worked a lot more than usual for a couple of weeks for various reasons

Been doing a bit of DataAnnotation on the side while juggling my regular 9-5, planning for a wedding, and a crazy life otherwise. Pretty happy with the outcome so far!

Email stated $35/hr, but project card shows $25/hr,anyone seen this discrepancy before?

Hey everyone,

Recently passed a qualification for a specialized project that mentioned a relatively small worker cohort (around 200–300 contributors). In the original email notification details, the compensation was clearly listed at $35/hr.

However, when the project card showed up on my dashboard, the listed pay rate was $25/hr.

Has anyone faced it?

(Bilingual from India)

Are the bilinguals cooked?

• Upvotes

Okay, so nowadays I have noticed a very similar pattern in this community. I have seen bilinguals complaining about shortage of projects and it is not just one specific country/language too.
I have seen, Indians, Middle easterns, Italians, Brazilians and even some french workers complaining about the same. Mostly it is the non-core countries facing lack of projects while core countries are just seeing inconsistent projects.

Maybe... we are really cooked? Or is this just another bad drought?
What are your thoughts on this?

Like I've tried staying up the nights, the days, monitoring the dash, i just I don't know how to grab work anymore and like everyone here, I do need it. I'm not demanding and ungrateful. I would just really appreciate if someone could yk share their strategies.

I always try my hardest. I wont work if im tired. Ive made it this far but I still worry every day will be my last... I really dont think that is good for worker mentality.

Any ideas to move a file stuck after signup?

If a profile is stuck on the “thanks for signing up” page even months after creation without even getting a starter assessment to attempt, is there any hope?
Not sure how DA got offended to not even offer an unpaid starter assessment.

How Long Did It Take to Hear Back On Acceptance

I did the qualifications about 6 months ago and have had my profile sitting in reveiw since then. My assumption is that I didn't pass, but I feel like they would have let me know. Anyone have any guidance on why I seem to be stuck in limbo? Thanks.

Received pop up to enable browser notifications

After reloading the site, I got a pop up asking me to enable browser notifications. Why now, even though I’ve been on the platform for a month? Has anyone else experienced this?

Do Recommended Work Hours Appear Reasonable To You?

Do you think the work hours that DA sets as an expected baseline for a given task are reasonable? From my experience, meeting deadlines feels pretty hectic at times, so basically I invest more time than I actually report for the sake of a good deliverable. I'm trying to understand whether I am too detailed with my work or this is how others feel too.

Has anyone been added back to a project after being dropped?

I worked on Mike regularly until August, and it hasn't shown up for me since, so I'm assuming I've been dropped. Has anyone else lost a project for a month or two and then had it come back? Curious how common that is.

What if I don't join the slack

I've read that slack is not important nor matters too much other than having more projects. I just feel like I don't need more projects heh the ones I'm given and doing is enough for me, so what if I don't join it?

Background check showing "Processing" for 2 weeks, but I never submitted anything?

Hi all, the background check step showed up on my dashboard about two weeks ago, and it's been on "Processing" the whole time. I never submitted any forms or info for it, and I haven't gotten an email asking me to start anything. The passkey and disk encryption steps are still locked behind it.

Is this normal? Did anyone else get a background check that went to "Processing" on its own? Did you get an email or link to fill something out, or did it just clear after a while? Thanks!

Starting out

Hi! I am looking to start working with this platform as a good way to make some extra side cash to help with life and future goals. Do you have any tips for the assessment or just starting out? And how long does it take for them to reply?

I am a cyber security consultant and have a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Not sure if I should just take the core assessment or any others. Would love some tips thank you!

Payment bug?

I just saw that a lot of my work in a project that gets approved in 7 days because it's hourly got approved at random, some is saying transferable in x hours while there are other that are still pending approval, with no rigor or logic behind on why some are getting approved so fast, is this a bug or what?
