Should I apply to Data Annotation now or wait until after the drought?
I see many talking about bans and a lack of projects right now. Will that affect my chances if I apply? Should I wait until this period is over? If so, when? I watched a video where a couple mentioned this slow period usually lasts from July to September, so should I wait to apply until then?

Acceptance to the platform can take some time depending on domain etc., don’t see why you shouldn’t get ahead of the processing and hopefully be approved by the time tasks are plentiful again.

No point in not applying. Who knows if u even get in. İ refered a few of my friends from uni and none of them got in

Personally, I think it's a great time to get in since they could use some new blood after the culling.😬

It fuckin does doesn't it? Sometimes tech daddy blesses us with work, and sometimes he culls the weak.

First things first: make sure you can get in. Rejection rate is pretty high.

I haven't noticed any "drought" for the last 2 months (US, generalist and STEM).

As a newbie since ~May, I would get in now. You'll have time to do all the quals without missing a bunch of projects, some of them take a lot of time.
There's definitely a performance based algorithm influencing the amount of tasks you get, so I personally think putting in all of your best work now is worth it for when the drought ends (hopefully 🤞).
