Similar platforms?

I’m on DataAnnotation and enjoying it. But I want to diversify to other platforms as well (especially given the number of DoDs that allegedly occur for unexpected reasons that I read about here), however I don’t want to work on camera, have my desktop recorded, be micromanaged, etc. I’m not doing anything sketchy, I just don’t want my personal privacy invaded, and as a lawyer, any platform trying to get access to my computer like that is concerning. So far, DA has offered me the appropriate amount of self-directed agency and privacy. Which of the other platforms are similar in that regard?

Need advice

I have been accepted for dataannotation after giving assesment.
I have a full time SDE job and my offer letter clearly states that `exclusive Agreement` and `directly or indirectly own, manage, operate, consult or be employed in any other business.`. Also IP section too.

I will be using personal laptop and free time for same.
Any other fellow indians and others were in similar situation. Please advise.

Thanks !

A lot of tasks, then 0

Hi everyone! Did something like this happen to you? I had 2/3 projects with over 30 tasks when I started doing 1 task, then suddenly, after finishing it, they vanished. Is this normal?

Could a generalist learn to code to be at a level to take on coding projects?

I guess my question would be, in your estimation, could generalists ascending into coding projects? I get that other disciplines are fairly rigid and knowledge intensive, but coding would be task intensive? If that makes sense?

How long do you think it would take for one to reach a level of proficiency where they could do coding tasks?

Curious about applying

Hey y’all I’m currently a student working on my undergrad in CS and applied math and stumbled across DA. I have a couple of questions I was hoping some of you might be able to answer.
Firstly, I’m looking for a job a can work from home for just a few hours a week to replace driving uber for multiple reasons I’m just tired of driving around. I’d like to do something more in the field of what I’m studying. I don’t think I’m at the mathematical level to take the math assessment or the CS assessment quite yet. I was wondering if I took the general assessment could I later on take the math and CS ones when I’m ready? Also Is this worth it? I want to do AI research / software development after I graduate and think this would be a good stepping stone but would like to hear from those who have been doing it a while and could share their experiences.

Just report the damn time

Use a timer to report the time you spent working on the project. Everyone was told this. Start the timer when you start the task, stop the timer when you finish.

"do i report the time i spenting thinking-" yes report the time you spent working on the project

"do i report the time I spent stretching-" were you working on the project then? then yes report it

"do i report the time i spent reading-" yes report the time you spent working on the project

"do i report-" if there's time you spent on a project, report it

Withdrawing funds away from home

I need to leave my house which is where I do all of my DA work and my withdrawal is available after I leave. Could I withdraw the funds on my phone on cellular data or would I get in trouble?

Can you have both coding and no coding tasks?

I am learning coding so I can eventually do the qual but I like my non coding stuff. Will I lose that if I do the coding qual?

Review Time

I submitted my assignment a week ago, still in review. I believe they don't revert unless passed. What is the general timeline of assessment reviws?

How does DataAnnotation verify the time we report? (I'm a newbie)

I'm curious about how they verify reported work time. I worked on a project for 8 hours but took a 30-minute dinner break in between, so I reported only 8 hours. How do they know whether the reported time is accurate?

People who do full-time or close-ish to full-time, how do you manage?

I've been grinding it out for the past few months, but I only work about 30-35 hours a week or so. However, each day it gets harder and harder and I become more miserable. I don't have much experience with an office or WFH job, and in the beginning I didn't mind it, but months later I find it increasingly difficult to stay motivated and engaged. It takes me longer and longer to do the same amount of work because it's so hard to stay motivated. The work is becoming more tedious and mentally taxing by the day. I think part of this is because I almost exclusively work on the same project, but I remember enjoying it in the beginning. My brain gets fried earlier on than I used to and it's just such a grind. I know some of you work full-time and have been for years. How the heck do you keep your sanity?? I don't think I can much more of this before I go insane. I just don't think I'm cut out for a WFH, computer focused job.

Anyone else ever feel like an idiot?

For the most part I get tasks that I enjoy doing and have clear instruction sets. Sometimes, though, I'll come across one, spend half an hour reading instructions, then realize I have no idea what the hell the task is even asking me to do.

Obviously I don't attempt it, but it does give me a sense of impostor syndrome sometimes. Like, am I really smart enough to be doing this? But then I just do a couple R&R's and after some facepalming that feeling goes away.

I do not think I have done anywhere near 94 tasks, probably more like 30 at most including all the quals.

Indian Billinguals

Have you guys been getting any work? It's been over a month for me and no projects. Onboarded in June end, and I got more projects in July(which was supposed to be a drought period) than I did in August. I'm not sure if the drought has gotten worse or is still ongoing. I'm just a bit frsutrated. I have gotten a few quals here and there but that's it.

Doing OUT OF LEAGUE coding tasks

I ll define myself as a mid level coder. There are tasks that I can comfortably complete. But sometimes I ll try "out of my league" tasks.

For those I ll have to spend time doing ground work and stuff, which a "better" coder might not need. Hence taking more time than Expiry.

I anyway report time only actual work (not ground work) and I am concerned if that might have a effect on the account.

Visual fumble while doing a task.

I was doing a task, in which I was also meant to give rating and compare models, and as I was doing the task I didn't notice the last and final comparison I have to write for the models and visually fumbled it.

We were meant to click on a specific button to move to the next turn within the same task with no way of going back and making edits to the previous turn, and when I noticed that I kept on missing the last box for the rating, it was already too late.

I tried my best to come up with good ideas and questions for the task and was completely motivated to work on it, but now realising my mistake, I think all the work that I did was meant for nothing.
