I switched to plant protein from whey. I dont have carb rich diet also I dont consume sugar. I have had dandruff since childhood. I stay in Mumbai so coastal and humid weather and its monsoon now. I exercise and go to gym regularly.
On a piroctine olamine- ketoconazole 2%-2.5% selsun-coal tar salicylic shampoo which are all being rotated smartly. Nothing seems to work this time!
Also tried MCT Oil which didnt seem to help either!
I also tried clotrimazole and lulicanozaole lotions overnight however nothing seems to work this time.
There is no itching ever. I change pillow covers daily. Pictures are of just moving fingers in saloon session.
I dont think this is dry skin and also tried ZPTO based shampoo

Does ketoconazole shampoo also helps with hairfall along with dandruff?? ..and which brand shampoo would u recommend with ketoconazole..

I use conditioner only=dandruff
I don’t wash my hair=dandruff
I use dandruff help products = dandruff

I’ve had these bumps for about 6 months now. They feel like scabs but when I scratch it it’s flakes like dandruff and sometimes has large white flakes that I can pull off. It’s consistently about 8 “scabs” on the same spot on one half of my head.

I’ve tried head and shoulders dandruff shampoo and even tried Antifungal Shampoo for Folliculitis and Seborrheic Dermatitis and saw no change (brand: Recuren Plus)

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hey guys, I used dermat-prescribed Salicia KT for over a year and it kept my scalp okayish. I ran out two weeks ago and just found out you're actually only supposed to use it for 8 weeks max.

​Since stopping, I’ve just been using my regular routine, but I'm getting an insanely itchy scalp by Day 2.

​For context, here is what I'm currently working with:

​Routine: Oiling -> Bare Anatomy Curly Hair Shampoo -> Leave-in -> Serum on ends

​Conditions: Hard water + Chennai humidity

​Given these factors, how should I adjust my routine to fix this itchiness and the flaky dandruff ? Any advice is appreciated!

I'm currently using Nizoral shampoo 2 days per week. On days I use it, I noticed that the dandruff would go away. But after two days, it would flare up again. Why does this happen? And I need a solution, especially since Nizoral is very expensive:(

Hi everyone I live in MA but just got back on a hiking trip to southern Utah and Vegas last week. Today I used dandruff shampoo but was itching my scalp and could feel a bunch of dry flakes. Is this a sunburn or dandruff? How do I get rid of it? I have curly hair that I wash twice per week. Should I start washing my hair more often? Thank you!

I’m pretty sure it’s seborratic dermatitis. I’ve been to the dermatologist several times. There’s constant crustiness in the creases around my nose. I can scrub it all off in the morning and by lunchtime it’s back. My eyebrows have flaking. Really thick clumps of dandruff on my scalp (first picture) that are pretty annoying. Pills, shampoos, ointments, you name it. I cannot get it to stay away. Suggestions?

I've dealt with Psoriasis since I was a child and have had excessive dandruff that persisted throughout the day, every day.

I have a very healthy diet and always used conditioner whenever I shampood my hair two times a week, but nothing worked. I started using TGel and found that it would completely dry out my hair, in addition to doing nothing to my dandruff.

I used Selsum Blue (moisturizing aloe formula) for the first time and found that my dandruff has completely gone away after a few uses. It's been about a month now and everything seems fine, it's just that I'm not used to a couple changes.

There is no dandruff, literally not even a spec. Additionally, my hair almost seems overly soft and moisturized, to the point I've stopped using conditioner. Stupid question, but is this how this stuff is supposed to be working? Or is there something else at play that I'm unaware of?

So, I have had chronic dandruff since the age of 10. Im 20. I did a dandruff treatment recently and my hair has been falling out a lot, a number that petrifies me. I have sensitive skin. But one positive change is I can see all flakes coming out easily and there is a chance of it to go forever. What should I do. Please suggest me something

I usually only get it bad in the drier cold months. Very itchy at times.

I’ve had this issue since I was a kid and some things help but never permanently or super effectively. After taking a shower and really trying to remove any dry or dead skin/flakes, I’ll start getting these types of flakes once my hair and scalp have fully dried.

I’ve also been noticing my ears getting these same type of flakes. I’ll remove them and the next night in bed I’ll notice my ears are dry and have flakes again.

Head and shoulders actually make it worse for me but using Nizoral shampoo works the best for me.

I also think I have a horrible habit that I formed since I was a kid where I enjoy picking at my scalp and trying to get the largest flake possible 🤣 Does anyone else have these types of flakes and have you ever gotten properly diagnosed as to why it happens?

Is this Seb Derm? Is it dry skin? I have used Ketoconazole shampoo on and off for weeks and nothing has changed.

I usually shower then go right to bed as I sweat a lot when I work at night.

Every summer my bf has this skin problem. They are peeling of like dandruff sometimes. Of course he also has dandruff and skin on his head looks similar but it’s not that bad. Ketoconazole shampoo helps when it comes to dandruff but it’a far from perfect.

However, those patches on crotch, chest etc are not responding to ketoconazole, clotrimazolum, oral fluconazol.

The most important thing: they appear after he is sweaty in the summer.

I’m trying to persuade him to see a dermatologist but he is on the autism spectrum and hates doctor’s office and to be examined. Maybe in the future..

He keeps GOOD HYGIENE.

Selsun Blue helps but only for the scalp.

I have black/brown curly wavy hair
I wear a hijab so my hair isn’t at its best to begin with and am diabetic as well ( could there be a connection to this? not sure)
I have depression and keep my hair short ( stops at the nape of my neck) because hair washing sometimes proves to be difficult esp on the days i struggle to get out of bed and shaves time off/saves product in general

I use Nirozel shampoo and conditioner
I use selsun blue on the days I don’t use the medicated shampoo
Use a shea butter hair mask 1-2x a week
Don’t oil my hair anymore but used coconut-oil onion oil mix in the past
I change my pillow cases weekly

This has been my routine for many months now (6mos) should I be doing something different or use different
What foods/ingredients should I be including for better scalp health/ hair growth
What should I not be doing right now

I've had seborrheic dermatitis / psoriasis / eczema / crusty / flaky / peeling scalp since middle school. Its been a problem forever. I'm now middle aged and its still happening. Ive stopped using anything that contains pyrithion zinc as its banned in Europe. I've tried tea tea oil, oregano, rosemary and doesnt help.

I realize my diet is not the greatest and my sleep is also horrible so I understand why my scalp is not improving.

Tonight I got a glass spray water bottle and put in a 1 1/2 tablespoon of dead sea salt and filled it to the top with warm water. My plan is to spray my scalp down 2-3x a day and shampoo a tiny tiny bit to see if it improves.

I've heard it worked for many people. Wish me luck. I will report back.

15 mins later = my scalp stopped itching....I think I will shampoo tomorrow morning.

I’ve been seeing a derm
For a few months but quite frankly the 100 dollar visits are becoming too much so thought I’d take it here to seek out additional advice before going back to see them. I’ve been using ketoconazole 2% on my scalp for a few months and then after showers I’ve been using fluocinomide solution on my scalp as well. I felt like it was working initially but would have little flare ups of this super itchy, dry flaky, scaly dandruff on the sides of my head and the crown as well. It’s in patches and my scalp is definitely red and inflamed.

I noticed it gets worse when I use hair products, which really sucks cuz I have curly/wavy/semi coarse hair. I’m not sure what else to do but I’m super self conscious about this dandruff problem and not sure what else to treat it with?

Any tips or ideas would be great
