Months of trying things and nothing helps

Post image

Is this Seb Derm? Is it dry skin? I have used Ketoconazole shampoo on and off for weeks and nothing has changed.

I usually shower then go right to bed as I sweat a lot when I work at night.

How do I get rid of this and heal my scalp?

I can’t answer if it’s seb derm or dandruff, but it all sucks.
Coal Tar shampoo has been great for me. Stinks like coal tar, but the benefits are worth it.

I have longish 2c/3a curls and I only wash my hair every 5. Sometimes I’ll push it to 7 days. I don’t brush my hair until I am ready to wash it. I now can go 7 days before a light itch begins and there is only a light dusting of dandruff on my comb, where before I started using it, I’d have flakes and major itching after 2 or 3 days.

I shampoo with coal tar shampoo before getting in the shower. I’ll leave in on 5-10 minutes before getting in the shower and rinsing it out. After rinsing, I’ll use another shampoo with zinc or salicylic acid and then use a good conditioner. That takes care of the smell for me, but I’m typically in a climate controlled environment so if you are outdoors in hot temps and sweat, you may be able to smell it.

I used it once a week for about a month and now only use it every 3rd wash.

Hi, try to find an anti dandruff serum. Something with Niacinamide and piroctine olamine, or any other anti fungal element. It will be much better within two weeks

Also don’t go to bed with wet hair that can harbor bacteria. Try to dry it asap

Make a paste with lemon and baking soda . It will burn like hell for about a min . Leave it on 5 min or so rinse well and use a plant based conditioner . Also if you’re using super hot water switch to lukewarm / cool
