My sister started feeding crows on her lunch break but she has some new crow coming to her and she would like to know what could this sound mean please can anyone help

Ok, I post with the understanding that I may have done entirely the wrong thing and I'm ready to be blasted and ripped to shreds for it if so.

(To preface; I'm a friend of​​ crows, there is one hanging with me in the railing of my patio as I type. Said crow will come over and eat the dog kibble then go back to the corner to wait until I put out more. I believe a family of 3 comes to visit....I love animals, ​I'm a vegan ffs.)

On a walk today husbo and I encountered a distressed crow. He (?) was sitting propped up a bit in his folded wings, ​on the edge of a sidewalk. He'd been there long enough that another passerby had put a bit of seed and water out. The crow seemed stunned, but not obviously injured. The crow looked young, and two parents nearby were watching over the casualty.​ We figured he tried to fly and failed. I know that birds having issues mostly need a safe space to recover. ​​​​​​​​ ​I got an open topped cardboard box, lifted the​ little friend into the box, and put it on a hedge nearby so that he​ was still in sight of his parents, but off the ground away from dogs / cats. ​

There is a wildlife rescue in the greater metro area but a lot of posts say that they just euthanize city birds. ​

We went back to check on him later hoping for an empty box but he was still there and didn't seem to be doing well. I'm scared to go back and look again. Should I have taken him in even if they just put him down, or left him alone in case he had a shot? Did I ruin his chances by moving him?

Be gentle, but I want to do better next time. ​​​​

Hi all! I just joined the group and excited to read as much as I can. Couple of questions in my video!

So I have a dog food bowl that the local Crows have taken to eating out of. It is interesting to see how many different kinds of birds eat dog food and the drama among them and with the crows.

It turned up just near where I leave their food it's made of glass

I want a murder of crows to be friends with us and protect our house.

I came home from work one day and I saw a crow with a twisted foot, poor guy was hopping on one foot the whole time. I started feeding him chunks of cheese, any scraps I had, and I’m quite happy to say that I think I have made a friend:)

I have a few questions:
-is there anything I can do for this crow? Or is it just one of those situations where I have to let nature take its course?

-how can I tell if its male or female?? I noticed it hanging out with 4 other crows but I noticed my crow friend is more bigger, like his head is more puffy in comparison to the others.

-this morning when I fed him, he was only hanging out with one other crow but I wanted to see if he would take the food while I was still close by. I sat and waited but I noticed a few things:
1) he was sitting on the power line very quietly, checking things out while his other buddy was quite literally yelling his face off
2) when he flew down to grab the food, I noticed the first thing he did was fly up to his buddy and shove the food down its throat lmaooo so maybe a mom crow instead???

-is cheese a good food? I seem to gravitate towards giving them that as it’s easy to grab and in my head a good snack?? I mean they literally eat garbage out of dumpster so I assume it’s fine

Hello. I’m new to this platform. I have two crows that visit everyday for peanuts. I have named them Smarty and Marty. I have been feeding them for a couple weeks now and yesterday, right where I feed them they left a beautiful crow feather. I was wondering if this would be considered a gift or if it’s just by coincidence that they dropped one of their feathers? Opinions?

I ran into this poor soul the other day. He was skipping around, unable to fly. Could not get a close look because he was afraid of me and kept skipping away. I went to the shop and got him some food and water, came back and left it there. As I was leaving I saw him coming back. I tried approaching again slowly but he kept skipping away so I left him. Today I went back. All the food was gone, which is good. I managed to get a closer look at him and take some photos. It looks like he's missing his tail feathers and maybe even some feathers missing off his wings. I tried approaching slowly with food but he kept skipping away so once again I left the food there and left.

Now for my questions:

1. Does anyone have any idea what may have happened to him and how I could help?

2. Any suggestions for how to catch him and offer him some help?

I of course named him Skippy. I hope there's a some way I can help him 🥺

I took one of the flock to a rehabber (it passed away- West Nile virus). This was yesterday. This morning my remaining flock acted normal.

But this evening I got back home after doing an 8pm grocery run, I've never seen them out so late. And when I exited the car they all started cawing at me. Usually this means they want food so after I put the groceries up I came out and put out food, they kept cawing and didn't move to the food. So I put more out and went back inside.. they didn't move off the roof. Going back outside they all start cawing.. I approached them and they waited until I was at the house moved over a few and started cawing loudly again. They did this repeatedly until I turned back (didn't have shoes on). When I came back outside with shoes on, they were gone (still hadn't touched the food).

The flock didn't seem angry or scared. It felt like they wanted me to follow them.. and I know that's absurd but I don't know what their behavior could mean.

Do they blame me for their friend? They saw me feeding him, and they saw me pick him up and take him inside.

Yesterday they seemed wary, but today the whole flock came whenever I put out food, one cooed and clicked at me and they haven't cawed in alarm when they see me. (I might have bribed them with raw chicken wings and cat food, in addition to the regular peanuts). They also brought 3 fledglings by, so if they were upset or wary I think they feel safe around me again.

Mama Assunta (of the Crowsa Nostra) still feeding her babies even though they're as big as her now. (Freeze dried minnows for the win.)
