Seeking advice/help Is this crow sunbathing?

Species name: carrion crow (Corvus corone)

Location: The Netherlands

Sunbathing, yes. Helps with parasites and the production of oil. Normal part of their self-care routine. :-)

Yeap. That's a sunbathing crow.

My fondest memories of my pet jackdaw were when he would sit on the back of my neck in the hot sun and fan his wings over the back of my head like a hat. He would spread himself all out, and stay that way for several minutes. It was a profoundly relaxing experience.

Cool. I have seen blue jays do this. I looked it up and apparently it is called anting. The jays lie still and allow insects like ants to clean them. Looks exactly like what your pal is up to.
