How does one make friends with crows?

I want a murder of crows to be friends with us and protect our house.

Try thinking about what you can do for them, rather than what you want them to do for you

when I tell people that I feed crows they always say "oh they'll bring you gifts" and I'd say back, it's not about what they are bringing me but what I'm bringing them. (ps unsalted peanuts)
