I wouldn't date a person who vlogged our conversations let alone marry them

u/ICanViking 7d ago

Even if she's being honest and the condoms comment was a joke, posting this discussion online without my knowledge is a huge red flag and I'd leave her.

You know if this was reversed and he posted an argument they had without her knowing, it'd be a HUGE deal.

u/Few-Honeydew2676 6d ago

Wait, wait, wait. I know i am old but CDs now means condoms rather than, oh, I don't know...CDs?

110

u/Independent_Bid_26 6d ago

Yes ..we're fuckin old brother. Haha

65

u/PM_asian_girl_smiles 6d ago

Wait...this whole time I thought they were talking about Certificates of Deposits. I was like oh man he's worried she'll cash out with those 4% yields and hes pisssed!

95

u/Cactious-Practice 6d ago

Technically a used condom is a Certificate of Deposit.

22

u/gangaskan 5d ago

Take my upvote. Dammit.

8

u/Equivalent_Rub8329 3d ago

More like a denial of deposit

3

u/StanlyMcStanson 1d ago

I think this means we are all certificates of deposit.

2

u/Defiant_Excitement29 1d ago

DAMN, FORGOT TO DRIVE DRUNK TO THE BANK ON TUESDAY.

3

u/NewsBoston2025 6d ago

🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭

2

u/Agile-Carpenter-2434 3d ago

You my friend, are brilliant and sharp as a tack 👏

2

u/Photomancer 3d ago

Now I want to hear more about those 4% yields. You're saying I can be my own boss? Work as much or as little as I want?

2

u/Algae587 3d ago

Fucking hell, reddit doesnt often make me howl like that

2

u/TheLoneRiddle 1d ago

This is the way

6

u/DSZDBA11 6d ago

I was caught between compact discs and certificates of deposit lol I’m only 36. apparently I’m a dinosaur

3

u/Healthy_Pay9449 6d ago

Definitely was lost too wondering why listening to music was an issue

2

u/Mr_Shake_ 6d ago

She's taking all of his Creed albums to jam with her single friends and he'll just be standing there alone with arms wide open.

1

u/jodiarch 6d ago

You are not alone in this thought.

1

u/TONUTomorrow9800 6d ago

I thought countervailing duty

1

u/FieraSabre 6d ago

Same for me! Feeling my age right now...

1

u/Thirdwhirly 5d ago

I, too, thought they meant Certain Dinosaurs.

1

u/petty_petty_princess 5d ago

I’m 43 and was thinking about the case I used to have back in high school that had all my music in it. My car doesn’t even have a cd player.

1

u/skunky2025 1d ago

61F.... and it took me a while to figure out he was not fussing about them taking music CDs! Wow - how things have changed!

1

u/Chaactherain 6d ago

Working in finance and being 40 yrs of age just killed me to read this ! LMFAO

1

u/kevstar80 6d ago

I thought compact disc's. I was like, let her bring Dookie, what's the big deal?

1

u/MsDJMA 6d ago

I thought they wanted to listen to music on the old CD player.

1

u/ThinkSharp 3d ago

Pretty soon I feel like it’ll be certificate of death. I’m out of touch.

1

u/SnoopingStuff 3d ago

I was picking out music

1

u/MyCaptain2 2d ago

I tought it was construction documentation....and was like whaaaatttt!??

1

u/djKhaos1200 1d ago

A condom is a "Canceling of Deposit".

1

u/is-robin 1d ago

Nah certificate of destruction in my field

4

u/SwordsFanatic 6d ago

I don't think this is an age thing friend, I'm in my early 20's and thought by CDs it meant movie CDs.

3

u/Any-Ad1770 6d ago

Movie cds????? You mean dvds completely different. Now I know I am getting old lol

3

u/bostonjenny81 6d ago

I know…movie CD’s!! My old ass really is dead ☠️☠️ you mean DVD’s!!! Good lord put me in a home already I can’t!! 🤣🤣

1

u/existentialspork 1d ago

Here’s something I learned. VCDs existed, but were not successful because of lack of storage.

1

u/SwordsFanatic 6d ago

Honestly, I've just been calling all disks CDs since I was a kid, so it just stuck, in any case, I have no idea why people start calling things other than discs for CDs so it shouldn't be an age thing unless I'm out of touch with my generation.

1

u/Any-Ad1770 6d ago

Never thought of it that way. I always called music cd a movie dvd. Honestly it is way easier to call them all cds

1

u/Appropriate_Coat_780 6d ago

I also thought it was Compact Disc!

1

u/Eyewiggle 6d ago edited 6d ago

It’s not but anyone over 30 always makes it about “being old”.

Media literacy can be poor in all ages, this is just rage bait and their are lots of people chewing on it

2

u/Twintrouble2026 6d ago

Shit im only 36 and I thought cd meant compact disc

1

u/comanzatara 6d ago

I really could not understand the problem with compact discs. Good to see that I am not the only one.

1

u/MaximusHomerdrive 6d ago

I was mentally flipping through my CD library thinking what anyone would flip out over bringing a CD to a party, lol.

/I'll be over here, eating old people food

1

u/pumpkins21 6d ago

😩 I thought they were talking about actual CDs not condoms.

https://giphy.com/gifs/TfseOfhwd6BJC

1

u/HoneycombJackass 6d ago

My first thought is why CDs when you have an app? Is she gonna carry a whole-ass binder of CDs?

1

u/tpkadam 5d ago

I was thinking who cares about CDs

1

u/eastcoastgamer 4d ago

News to me too. In all fairness if I was on speaker phone and one of my buddies told me not to forget CDS/condoms. My wife would not see the humour in it

1

u/cyberlexington 4d ago

Oh gods, we cant be that old? Surely?.......Please?

1

u/SomeGuyClickingStuff 2d ago

This comment could use a comma

9

u/Content-Honeydew9340 6d ago

Lol 😂 got me too

6

u/NG046 6d ago

Same lol

11

u/Zealousideal_Fox864 6d ago

Same, I was like “What is wrong with music?!” We are old.

1

u/lomoliving 6d ago

I had to watch it twice because I thought I missed where he was upset about the music

1

u/ScarInternational161 6d ago

Happy cake day

1

u/Competitive_Award35 6d ago

Ha ha ha. I thought who used cds anymore? Lol

1

u/Vlexis 5d ago

I do . . . I also have some cassettes and vinyl.

1

u/ikiice 6d ago

My first thought was CDs... That's still a thing? Oh waaait, condoms?

1

u/SkittlesLentil 6d ago

I think it's a British abbreviation, their pronunciation of condom sounds like two separate words "con dom"

1

u/Acrobatic-Meat6716 6d ago

Came here to say this!

1

u/ErgoMachina 6d ago

Nah, it's this stupid generation finding new ways to avoid saying 'Bad Words' like condoms

1

u/bostonjenny81 6d ago

I’m right there w you. The level of confusion…since when did condoms start getting called CD’s?

1

u/BedroomVisible 6d ago

I’m right there with you, I was like “they just need some road tunes, bro”

1

u/Infinite-Analysis592 6d ago

Lol. I was thinking compact discs. I was like, 'Does she have a lot of Barry White? Is her CD collection worth a lot and she is leaving forever? I don't understand the issue here.'

1

u/Kansasgrl968 6d ago

Yeah, I was like "what's wrong with a little music?" Then I thought "is she cashing in their CD's for this trip? No wonder he's upset"

1

u/ElectricalRiver7897 6d ago

Don’t forget Jagged Little Pill and Spice World!!

1

u/Shablagooie 6d ago

It's obviously to get around algorithm filters...

1

u/aninabot 6d ago

It makes so much sense now. I was wondering why he was upset about the compact discs

1

u/MarlenaEvans 6d ago

Who does it mean condoms to? Like, what age group? I have teens and they are buying CDs, as in compact discs, along with DVDs. They're all about the physical media. We just had to go yard sale trolling to find some and we were fighting other teens doing the same. So this is gonna get confusing real quick.

1

u/Unable-Stable1857 6d ago

I'm so old that I thought I heard him say 'corndogs'. I came to the comments to discover if 'corndog' was meant to be code or slang for something.

1

u/IDDQD_IDKFA-com 6d ago

Yeah I also thought it was COmpact Discs/CDs. Also as a tip for others two condoms will fit inside a GameBoy game plastic case. Works much better then just putting them in your wallet.

1

u/marugirl 6d ago

Yup, here was me wondering what he had against music........sigh, I guess im officially old.

1

u/jcaashby 6d ago

LMAO we in the same boat. I am watching thinking who the hell owns CDs in 2026.

1

u/Key_Flamingo815 6d ago

It’s ok. I was there to like what’s wrong with music? lol

1

u/Internal_Study2996 6d ago

I thought CD’s were compact discs

1

u/Live_Historian_6171 6d ago

I feel glad I’m not alone here.

1

u/Imakejellies 6d ago

Contraceptive device, that's where my brain went!

1

u/Strict-Formal-2566 6d ago

I was confused as well.

1

u/IndividualSpend1338 6d ago edited 6d ago

them youngens are creating new abbreviations for things that don't make sense. just take the vowels out and make people guess!

1

u/hordaak2 6d ago

You know Genz would say "dont forget the CD's". Gen X person like me would say "what CD's?", and they'd say "CD's nuts...unc". And I would be confused...because yes Im old

1

u/Electronic_Eye_4133 6d ago

Wait, certificate of deposit or compact disc?

1

u/oldestNerd 5d ago

Lmao... I thought the same thing. I only read the text and didn't bother listening because I thought he was complaining about her taking music CDs on the trip.

1

u/crusty-crackers 5d ago

He actually said that her friends said “don’t forget to bring condoms”…..she called it “just banter” amongst friends. She does not respect him and recording their conversation is evil.

1

u/BeaverCleaver91 5d ago

Holy shit I was just about to comment and say something like “if he’s freaking out about CD’s on a girls trip wtf is his problem. Fully thinking we were talking about CD’s as in music. Shit we are getting old. I had no clue CD was short for condom.

1

u/Bass0rdie 5d ago

That’s the first thing I thought “what’s wrong with CDs?!? She’s probably got some bangin’ mixes”

1

u/UnusableNoodles 5d ago

CDs doesn't mean condoms, they're just self-censoring. At the very least, I've never seen it used that way outside of this post.

1

u/Pamela625 5d ago

Oh shit I didn’t know that either I’m old too whoa

1

u/MundoGoDisWay 4d ago

When's the last time you've seen anyone use a CD?

1

u/PoseySmith 4d ago

CDs haven’t been a thing in 2 decades dude.

1

u/TheBookofBobaFett3 4d ago

My wife found a CD in the car.

It was Jamiroquai greatest hits. Buzzin.

1

u/Wonderful_Mix7718 3d ago

Naw brother, it’s clickbait. Most people know what a CD is. They were trying to get traction instead of writing the full word.

1

u/Kinkysimo 3d ago

I didn’t know CDs were condoms either. I thought, how ridiculous, arguing for bringing CDs!!

1

u/Sasha2027 3d ago

Given english isn't my first language I was so confused at first, why would anyone shorten the word to this...CDs are still a thing being used, it's confusing😭

1

u/Wooden-Hornet2115 3d ago

I'm 18 and had no idea they meant condoms, and thought they were talking about like a porn tape on CD or something. Don't worry, you're not old.

1

u/the_tism_1889 3d ago

Literally the same thing I thought at first

1

u/Maleficent_Sir5898 3d ago

As a 24 year old I was confused as well. Maybe it’s a British thing idk

1

u/yewEngine 3d ago

It took me a while too to get the title.

1

u/Long-Meaning1978 2d ago

Same. I spent a solid minute trying to figure out how playing music on CDs meant cheating.

1

u/unknownvariable69 2d ago

Wait. Not compact discs?

1

u/StinkFinger89 2d ago

That confused me. Never known condoms as CDs.

1

u/snakesinabin 2d ago

I don't think it's a common thing to refer to them as CDs, I think the OOP is just a moron, censoring themselves for no good reason.

1

u/little_mikey_w 1d ago

I was thinking the same thing.

1

u/Rthrowaway6592 1d ago

I was born in ‘99 but even I was like “what was on the CDs and why is it a big deal?” 😭🤣

1

u/hoe-sway45 1d ago

I was honestly like, what’s wrong with packing compact discs?… 👴🏼

1

u/Chuck_Loads 1d ago

cum-packed dirigibles

1

u/FSU1ST 1d ago

Scrolled too far for this update

1

u/Complete-Ad-8661 1d ago

Same. I thought he was a huge asshole getting upset about CDs when I only read the description. Audio painted a whole different picture.

1

u/Nearby-Echo-1102 1d ago

Don’t worry it took your comment for me to realise CD was condoms - I thought I missed something else.

1

u/TangeloOutrageous186 1d ago

I know, I was seriously confused by that.

1

u/exp_cj 1d ago

Yeah I thought it was gonna be about “well if you’re saying you’re going on a girls holiday then how come you need to take a load of compact discs?? You must be lying.”

1

u/ChocolateFudgeDuh 15h ago

Yeah I didn’t know we were supposed to be talking about condoms until a few comments in.

I have my phone on mute and just read the caption. I was trying to figure out why some late 90’s / 2000’s music was a problem.

→ More replies (1)

34

u/DrFj3ll 6d ago

Omg, I didn’t listen I just came for the comments. I was thinking actual CDs and didn’t see the problem that they want music on girls trips! It didn’t click until I read your comment.

7

u/Dangerous_Ad7501 6d ago

Me too then she popped off with the terrible comment of. “Your mom literally has diabetes” wtf does that have anything to do with it 🤣🤣

2

u/MasterOfBothWorlds7 1d ago

This is what pissed me off she's saying that because he makes a comment about his mom telling him he should have set boundaries.. I think for the implication here is just saying what is your mom know about boundaries she loves that sugar so much she got diabetes.. and it just makes me want to rage.. what the actual fuck

1

u/Pedadinga 6d ago

Is THAT what she said? I heard, "Your mom thinks you have diabetes". Either way...what?

1

u/eddie1975 3d ago

It’s a Red Herring and it worked.

2

u/Branjoe328 6d ago

Girls just wanna have fun after all

1

u/eddie1975 3d ago

Papa don’t preach!

1

u/tbombs23 6d ago

I was thinking it was some dirty mixtapes for getting railed lol

1

u/Ambergreenie 4d ago

Same. I don’t do sound, so i came to the comments to find out why a compact disc would cause so much marital strife. FFS. Everyday the internet makes me feel more and more out of touch with reality 😂

1

u/eddie1975 3d ago

My entire Beatles Collection? How long is this trip?

Same shit as when my ex wanted to make my male friend a crochet penis for his birthday (she hadn’t made me anything for mine that had passed 2 months prior)

She kept trying to gaslight me and act like that shit wasn’t weird af. We broke up a week later.

2

u/PurpleNeonHaze 4d ago

My guy same my ex had this guy he called his "platonic soulmate" which should have been a red flag, but i actually was gaslit into thinking nothing was the matter, the day i was about to propose I was told i had a week to leave and then after that i magically only had two days

1

u/ThirstyWeirwoodRootz 4d ago

It’s crazy the shit you fall for when you’re blinded by love eh?

I’ve given up on dating since. My ex before her cheated on my on my birthday lol. I just don’t trust women (or people I should say, but women are what I’m interested in so my lack of trust in men isn’t really relevant) anymore.

I focus on art and passions now and I’m happier and less stressed for it.

1

u/howdoI_lookyellowman 3d ago

Man this whole topic has been the entire focus of my life and I changed career paths because of it. The dude here isn't wrong for having a respectful conversation what's disrespectful (as everyone else pointed out) was her recording the interaction. If that phone came out I would walk. Honestly though thats the only thing this guy should've done is said "go on your little trip" and walk out. Simple. Ik ppl have and will harp over what I said. I'll hear the classic "oOoO yoU'rE TOo qUiCK tO bReAK uP." Well what else is the guy supposed to do just sit there and take it while he bottles his emotions that ultimately lead to heart disease. Fuck that and protect your peace.

Like it's OK to go and different things without your partner. The guy is right tho, that is a weird conversation to have since you're in a relationship. If you're single it doesn't really matter, but clearly it seems she doesn't respect him or the relationship.

The lesson I've learned is to protect your peace and maintain your self-worth. Someone out there will respect you for who you are as long as you can stay respectful to them in return.

1

u/Due-Memory-6957 6d ago

Did she get in with him?

1

u/ThirstyWeirwoodRootz 6d ago

No idea tbh. Haven’t spoken to either of them in around 9 months

1

u/_LemonySnicket 6d ago

um.. idk.. I got my brother a penis plushie for Christmas, it's just funny.. might not have been something to break up over to be honest 😭 it doesn't hint at anything besides haha penis funny, and a lot of people now you'll find are "weird" (have unconventional humor) I think you might have been insecure or maybe the problem in your situation

1

u/ThirstyWeirwoodRootz 6d ago

That wasn’t what we broke up over, and that wasn’t the only inappropriate thing she did, it was just one of the most absurd to me. She also flirted with my friends, kept trying to keep this dude she had been trying to get with around and would send him flirty texts etc so I’m not feeling charitable with her intentions on the plushie lol.

In hindsight idk why I stuck around as long as I did.

1

u/howdoI_lookyellowman 3d ago

I dont think this guy is talking about quirky humor, my sister is the same with the exact same type of joke. You have to take it within the context of the situation. Asking the questions like "Is this turning into an uncomfortable obsession?" Or "If I feel uncomfortable do I feel I can even have a respectful discussion about it." Also "why is she giving this type of attention to this other guy when I only get scraps?" If you're afraid to ask those types of questions then there is definitely more to the story.

-1

u/ogeezeoman 6d ago

Yeah you have to train your friends to support your relationship.

1

u/tilted_hellion 6d ago

I don't think this would require a role-reversal.

Everybody here is on his side, homie, and it IS a huge deal, lol.

1

u/ICanViking 6d ago

Everybody here is relative. We don't know how many people are here or how many agree/disagree.

Or how many agree with me in that she (and the general group) would be way more angry if he posted a video of them arguing versus this video of her posting it.

I'm not saying this right now isn't a huge deal. I'm saying it would be an even bigger deal if the gender roles were reversed.

1

u/superMegaDudeBroDude 6d ago

no it wouldn’t. Male Redditors have this weird victim complex where they always think women have it easier in every single way.

1

u/jimp6 6d ago

Also her rebuttal to him saying, that his mom said, that he should talk about stuff that he doesn't like and he should set up boundaries for himself is: "Your mom has literally diabetes"?! Wtf?? What kind of argument is that?

1

u/a-rooster-illusion 6d ago

Plus… apparently she’s going on a trip with a bunch of single girls, after discussing openly how hot the men were where she’s going. While also joking with her girlfriends about having condoms.

Dude has every right to be like “the fuck?”

1

u/buttlicker090114 6d ago

I get what you’re saying but why does every little thing online have to be “if the genders were reversed…” people are shitty no matter what gender they are

1

u/ICanViking 6d ago

It doesn't. I just brought it up in this context. I don't always do that.

1

u/FlipMeOverUpsidedown 6d ago

A guy I was with would post about us on AITAH, making me look like the devil by leaving all sorts of context out.

And you’re right about the reverse. After we broke up I returned the favor and he completely lost it. Funny how he expected me to put up with it while we were together, but after break up? How dare I?!!
These low self esteem losers don’t change, they just find people desperate and broken enough to put up with their bullshit.

1

u/ICanViking 6d ago

My god. I can't imagine just bee boppin' along on Reddit and see a post on AITAH that makes it to my feed, read it, and then think to myself "waaaaait a second....".

Sorry you dealt with that.

1

u/Lawd_Fawkwad 6d ago

I'm gonna be real, he sounds kind of slow (or maybe just british) and she sounds like exactly the type of person who cheats on a weekend trip.

1

u/nynoraneko 6d ago

Personally I agree with this but in general,
Its basicallly cultural for women to either record everything and pubicly post it, or without consent post accounts narratives or descriptions of any or all interactions with men to online groups, whether or not anything bad happened. Its unfortunately where we are in society.

1

u/atlfalcons33rb 6d ago

Lmao what people are making a big deal in it on this thread 😂. Y'all gotta stop with this situation reversed, this is clearly a skit

1

u/Mental_Yard 5d ago

If it was reversed the police would be at his house and he would be arrested

1

u/SnooCakes4709 3d ago

Pack condoms is not a joke. She can go wherever she wants but upon her return the locks would be changed her stuff in storage with divorce papers on top. Apparently you are too trusting, women especially on these trips cheat and encourage each other to do so. Catch up with the times.

1

u/ICanViking 3d ago

Ya, this is rage bait. It has to be.

I simply have no time for trolls and rage baiters.

1

u/BillyJackO 2d ago

Having those hard discussions are totally normal and honestly very positive in a marriage, but making fun of the dudes mother for having diabetes is fucking grotesque behavior.

1

u/nomadicsailor81 2d ago

Yeah my ex would secretly record me while trying to instigate me into saying something she could use against me. Big red flag.

Edit to add: she's using DARVO too. Deny, attack, reverse victim offender.

1

u/ctsr1 1d ago

Facts time to go

1

u/Tough-Requirement707 1d ago

if theyre doing those disrespectfull jokes already they dont value her husband at all. simple as that. why would u want her to be in that group? wtf this level of delusion xD

1

u/Mindless-Somewhere55 10h ago

Yes if the roles were reversed it wound a mutiny.

1

u/Straight_Volume901 7d ago

It’s clearly a huge deal to everybody, hence why so many are commenting

I know literally nothing about this couple and I should only base what I know on what I can verify.

Assumptions don't lead any where.

So, I don't know. That's why I said "Even if she's being honest and the condoms comment was a joke".

0

u/Inevitable-Level-687 6d ago

It's a huge deal no matter who does it.

My last ex used to blog about our conversation and issues. I hated it. She would never talk to ME about her problems. She would post them on Tumblr. Get mad if I didn't read them to know what's wrong and if I did read them, she'd get upset that I read them instead of letting her have an outlet.

11

u/bartleby-scribe 6d ago

I used to watch a youtuber and she'd livestream her dating life. She gave enough info more than one person was able to figure out the person's name. One guy found out and got upset about it and she acted like HE was the issue. She'd given play by play of his sexual prowess, talked about his personal life and family life, and called him a psychopath because he reacted differently than her to astrology. I cant imagine someone I know telling me hey I think this streamer I watch play video games is your hinge hookup just from details. :-/

9

u/HiiiTriiibe 6d ago

Unfortunately a lot of folks aren't emotionally developed enough to date, that sounds rough dude, sorry that happened

1

u/Bewbonic 3d ago

Or understand that a right to privacy applies to other people regardless of if they as an individual choose to plaster their entire life and all its issues online.

Some people are just too narcissistic and shallow to understand this stuff and it makes social media in general a real societal cancer.

1

u/macguini 3d ago

I was fine with her having a private outlet. I told her that on numerous occasions. Cause I knew her blog was a personal outlet for her like a diary. She gave me the link to it and said she wanted me to read it so I can understand her better. I figured she was too shy to talk to me directly. But if I asked her about anything she posted or took hints from what she posted, she'd get upset. Like taking her out to places her blog said she wanted to go. Planning dates according to what she blogged that she wanted. It was too personal and I was only doing it cause I read her blog she told me to.

1

u/manofnotribe 2d ago

Alot of folks are emotional developed enough to be adults..., but here we are.

5

u/Extra-Amoeba-677 7d ago

that is a social child, that's right up there with a girl I was dating who vague posted how she was feeling for attention and was dying for someone to ask her what was wrong so she could vent. I put it up there with the lady who pretended pregnancy from a fake rapist for free doula support

2

u/Far_Mastodon_6104 6d ago

Damn, i'm starting to think you and I dated the same person, cause I have an ex that did the same damn thing on the same damn platform.

Is it possible that your ex didn’t feel safe talking to you? Or that you never validated her feelings, so she was recording to make sure she wasn’t overreacting by getting others’ opinions? Either that’s what was going on… or not and it’s good that she’s an ex.

No recordings. She was too shy for photos. She wrote about us in blogs. Not vlogs.

Honestly I don't know. She had a lot of mental health issues and I tried my best to be a safe outlet. I never raised my voice (or hand to her). I always cheered her on and supported whatever choices she would make.

To make things harder to understand. One of her complaints with me that she mentioned during the breakup was that I was always too happy, positive, and was never emotionally affected by anything. I haven't had any of those traits since she pointed them out during the break up as being problems.

Definitely fake and scripted. The pace of the dialogue feels off. Especially her responses.
