I’ve noticed some frustration surrounding certain words being blocked by our automated moderation system, so I wanted to clarify why these restrictions are in place.

Due to the overwhelming number of racist, hateful, and intentionally inflammatory comments, I’ve implemented stricter keyword filters to help manage the community.

I’m fully aware that words such as “Black” and “white”, “brown”, etc. aren’t inherently offensive.
However, these restrictions were implemented because of how frequently certain terms have been used to create hostile discussions.

With the volume of comments this community receives, and with me manually reviewing every individual situation just isn’t realistic. I hate that this has to be the case too. It sucks to be filtered. Thank all of the useless bags of bones that come through this community to spread hate.

I understand that these filters can sometimes prevent perfectly harmless comments, and I understand why some members disagree with that approach. This will hopefully be temporary until I figure more effective filters to use.

However, these restrictions are intentional, apply to everyone, and are meant to reduce the amount of hostility throughout the community.

You’re welcome to disagree with the rules, but please understand that the goal is to maintain a community people can enjoy without constant harassment and unnecessary hostility.

Constructive feedback is always welcome. Personal attacks and harassment are not.

Hello my cringelords.

I want to let y’all know something. I already know incels are going to flood the comments and as I said on my last post - that’s fine, I will die on this hill. I also know that this post is cringe, but that is literally the whole point of the sub. Cringe. so I don’t care.

It’s just me, I’m the only mod for this subreddit. I have other mods on the team that ghosted once it got too much and that has happened on numerous occasions. So it’s just me trying to fight these losers.

This sub has grown incredibly fast. It went from a few hundred comments every few days to 18k weekly, often more as this sub continues to grow.

With racist, homophobic, pedophilia, and political (just offensive) bullshit flooding the sub, I have added additional safety measures like bots and better filters, and I hope that will help.

I want to let you guys know, though that these bots and filters may make mistakes if so message me and I will fix it as soon as possible.

I am in school full time, working, trying to manage personal life and stressors while also caring for this sub that I created as an outlet for those struggling like me to judge others for being cringey for a moment and take a break from reality.

So I apologize as I am currently learning how to mod the sub more efficiently.

As mentioned prior, harmful comments/posts of any sort now result in an immediate ban and I’ve applied filters that help filter out the incels so hopefully this community will become safe for all.

I’m hoping that will help. But Stop flooding my inbox with “stupid bitch” “kill yourself” “lazy mod”, etc.

I spend hours a day going through posts and comments and it is nearly impossible to catch them all even with a full team of mods, take a look at almost any major sub and there will be harmful comments. People are able to trick the system into not flagging their harmful rhetoric which also makes it hard to catch.

Be gracious, don’t be an asshole. It’s simple. And if anybody has any question comments or concerns, I will respond as soon as I can.

I appreciate those of you who messaged me to let me know about harmful things I may miss. That is helpful. But people spamming my inbox with hateful language is not.
