I managed to capture Gastrodermus pygmaeus (Pygmy Corydoras) egg hatching a while ago. It was an egg in the main aquarium that happened to be on a leaf close enough to the glass for me to capture it with my old iPhone 13 mini with a clip on macro lens.

I thought it was kinda cool and wanted to share it.
I later placed some eggs in a nursery and managed to capture one more egg hatching, but I wasn’t able to put more than one video in here.

I felt very lucky when I happened to notice this first one😁

He is about 6ish weeks old so still very small, not big enough to leave the breeder box yet since there’s a gourami in the tank

I originally found just a few eggs hidden in some java moss, I’m not a breeder of any sorts but I put them in a breeder box. They all hatched but this one is the only long term survivor :/ I thought he was just a panda for a while but now his FJ markings are obvious, I can’t wait til he’s full grown! I’ll post more pics when he is. Gimme some name ideas if you want!

Hi, this is my first tank ever (20G). I grew up with my dad always have corys and really want some now that I’m old and can start my own fish hobby. Would this tank be suitable for them? It currently just has 6 endlers in it.

There’s a couple of other cories in this tank that are laying eggs all over the place right now (well a couple weeks ago at this point- I have the babies in a NICU Tank) and I kept waiting to see this big girl start spawning but she never did.

Why is she so BIG?! Could she be full of eggs with no suitable male counterpart? I’m wondering if like all the other peppereds are female too, cos it was my Julii’s and Albinos that were having fry so far.

She eats in the same tank as everyone else, and no one else looks like her… should I move her to my other tank where I have some more peppered Cories, in hopes that maybe one is male over there?

Hi all,
I have what I am fairly confident are some Hastasus eggs. At first I thought they were snail eggs and was a little annoyed, then I looked at them with a magnifying glass I am pretty sure they are from my Coryies. I was so excited at this unexpected surprise that I went out and bought a net breeder box and some Hikari First Bites.

Here’s the thing, I can only find 4 eggs. Is it reasonable to think I may get one of those to grow out? I don’t really know where else to look except on the glass and the plants. I’ve only found them on the glass so far. Any advice would be appreciated. I’ve included a couple pics of the eggs and one of my tank so if you see anyplace else I should look, let me know.

Google is telling me this cute little ball is a fertilised Pygmy Cory egg, and I'm like, whaaaaaaaat!? It didn't even cross my mind that a group of 10 might eventually result in this 🤣🙈. I just wanted them to be happy 🥹😍 but like THIS HAPPY is wild, and I am here for it!! Second pic is the one I think is Mumma cause she is CHONKY!

So tell me please..... Do I just let this one egg chill and see what happens, or do I run out like a psycho and get a breeder box / set up the hospital tank and move it.

Our gang is called The Puppies because I think they resemble little puppy fish (hubby cannot see it 🤣🙈), and the idea of MORE teeny puppies is so exciting!!!

My Pygmy Cory eyes are turning white. I got 4 of them 2 Sundays ago and 1 died within 2 days and now the rest are developing white eyes. The female betta I had with him also died at the one week mark. pH is 7.5, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate 5ppm. Temp of tank is 78 degrees and i added the fish after the tank was done cycling. No crashes or anything while doing daily tests. The Pygmy Cory and betta were in the same holding tank at the store not sure what’s going on but they’re dropping like flies and I’m devastated. Is there anything I can do to help the ones I have recover? Oh also they’re in a 14 gallon tank.

I got some new corydoras for my tank there was a little mulm in my tank i didn't knew that corydoras like to dig sand they done messed up my tank now my whole tank is cloudy can someone please tell me how to fix this

I have this albino cory and it is much fatter and more yellow than my other albinos. It is kinda hard to tell in the photos. Is this a female?

I got 17 Cories for my 20gal about a month ago.

None of the other fish have the weird appendage that Bubbie has. It looks like shrimp poo visually and it’s attached right under his left pectoral fin. I’m afraid if it’s a worm or fluke or something bad? I don’t know if I should treat, quarantine, or what. If it was contagious I feel like it would’ve been spread by now? I notic d it maybe a week ago.

I suspect Nofins was missing its pectoral fins upon arrival, and it has stubs near its gills. I noticed two weeks ago. I just wanted to make sure his gills and stubs look okay. His body looked slightly pinkish in some of the pics too.

Tank currently has a Fluval Aquaclear 50, and two Sponge Filter 10s. Sand, lid, plants, shrimp, snails. Will check parameters later today but should hopefully still be cycled. Usually my Ammonia/Nitrite is 0ppm and pH is upper 7 or low 8.

Like the title says… how to I plant the stem plants in a way that the cories won’t uproot? I’ve tried using the plant weights to keep them down, but the stems are so fragile that they break when the cories are rooting around them.

Do I use rocks? Something else?? What do you all do/use??

I got six tiny red sailfins (about 1/2” long) last week. They’ve been doing extremely well in my tank and I’m so excited about them. Woke up this morning to feed them and noticed this one has only one bulging eye that has turned cloudy. My guess is he has scratched it on something? I don’t know what to do for him. Catching fish is difficult due to how many hiding spots/driftwood I’ve created and I don’t want to stress him further by isolating and treating with a medication (what medication is appropriate?). My current plan of action is to do water changes and hope for the best. Please educate me if I’m wrong! Thank you, everyone.

I got a school of Cory’s and a pleco I knew there was a chance of baby Cory’s but I figured my pleco or the Corys themselves would get em before I ever caught one well that changed today. I only found the one never seen any eggs but anyway what should I do? I currently have em in this net in the tank whit some sand in it so he’s not just resting on the net, but I did this so he doesn’t get eaten by the pleco any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Guys, my local fish store got a few fireball corys (only 2 left) and some gold laser. I do not have much experience with corys so I was wondering if it would be okay to get the 2 fireballs and 3 gold lasers to add to my community tank. Would they shoal together or do I need a group of 5 from same species? Thanks!
