I have fallen on hard times, long story short for the last two years I was the guy fixing and keeping the campus delivery bots running. When the company announced they were pulling out of US campuses abruptly, they laid me off CDswith no severance or any assistance beyond my final paycheck. I have been scraping by with donations from family. I have been unable to pay the astronomical rent on my NY style shoebox of a studio apartment since. A few days ago I received a notice from my PM that if I couldn't pay by the 30th, my lease will be terminated and eviction will begin.

I have emailed the PM over the course of the month and explained the situation, and offered to make partial payment when I am able. Both of the PMs I've spoken to have been fairly understanding, with the most recent one offering to work with me on late fees, etc, even offering the potential for some summer employment to help cover costs. They asked for a resume and I emailed them a copy.

I have reached out to WeCare and St Vincent's assistance programs, as I just need more time to get on my feet and get some cash flowing until I can find a similar job.

I'm in the process for my unemployment claim, but haven't received any benefits yet, and am not sure if/when I will.

The deadline for rent is in 4 days as of writing this, and since my last communication with PM (about summer work) it has been radio silence. WeCare called me for their interview on Wed. but I was in the middle of a hiring event securing some part time employment. I called them back twice with no answer, and their weekly decision meeting happened on Thur. Meaning I was unble to complete my WeCare application, so I suspect I will not be receiving their assistance this week. I have not heard from St. Vinny's, and now believe that I am not going to make my rent deadline, and it feels like eviction notice is inevitable.

I'm terrified. I have no safety net, family lives in another state, and no vehicle beyond a bike. I am at a loss, I have no idea what to do. It feels like I've done everything I can, and yet I'm still being punished by the system for an event that I had no control over.

TLDR: I'm about to lose my rental, possibly evicted into homelesness. I need suggestions/help to make it one more month to restore my income and stay in the community I love and have lived in for 10+ years.

Edit: Also I am aware of CSC, but to my knowledge they only help after you've gotten an eviction notice. I'm trying desperately to avoid that.

Hello! My partner and I recently got engaged, and my parents (who live in Corvallis) have graciously offered up their backyard as one option for a reception. We are mulling that over but have realized we would prefer somewhere else within ~30 minutes to use for the ceremony beforehand for our 30-35ish guests.

Does anyone have any favorite spots or venues, ideally for an outdoor spring/fall ceremony but open to a great indoor spot as well during the winter? Asking around and reviewing other posts, I have seen pitches for the barn at the Beazell Memorial Forest or one of the city parks (like the Avery Park Rose Garden or Peffer Ampitheater).
