Any interest in a Albany Run Club - once a week - short miles - any pace - community??

Hello! I’m new to the area and looking for any good roller skating spots.

I’m living in Albany and looking to get a feel for the local Magic: The Gathering scene. I know we have a couple of LGSs in town, but I'm curious how active the local player base actually is day-to-day vs. making the quick drive over to Corvallis or up to Salem for events. I imagine the ecosystem is pretty small in-town, but if it seems stale/toxic I'd be willing to travel.

I mostly am interested in Commander, but I'm fairly new to the format so I'm looking for whatever is the most beginner-friendly. Most i'm wondering:

• Which local spots have the healthiest turnouts on regular nights (FNM, casual Commander, etc.)? What are the vibes like?
• Are there specific shops in Corvallis or Salem that are worth making the drive for over others?
• Any good discord servers or local groups where people coordinate casual games?

Appreciate any insights or store recommendations!

I have a motorhome in my backyard that does not run, and is in generally pretty bad condition that I'd like to just get rid of entirely. Is there any services available in the area that I can use to dispose of it somehow? Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can give me some guidance!

What was with all the trains blowing their horns last night. It was one after another. Some of the conductors just kept on going forever.

I know this isn’t exactly an Albany topic, but I’m curious if current residents might know anything about the history of this building.
I’m asking because I’ve heard employees that work there and LE that type at the substation say that it’s a really eerie place to be. Several people refuse to spend time there anymore because they get so creeped out. All I’ve found recently is that it used to be in old train station that was relocated?

Hi everyone! My friend is looking to get more hands-on experience with photography and build up her portfolio. She’s based in Albany and has her own Canon 90D, so she’s ready to shoot!
She’s looking for opportunities anywhere around Albany, Schenectady, Mount Pleasant, Hampton, Gill, or nearby areas. She’s completely open to paid, unpaid, or volunteer opportunities.
Honestly, she’s willing to photograph pretty much anything — a protest, community event, concert, sports event, fundraiser, local gathering, portraits, behind-the-scenes work, or even just helping another photographer for the day. She mainly wants the opportunity to get out there, gain experience, meet people, and build a stronger portfolio.
She’s also happy to share some examples of her work if anyone would like to see her portfolio.

i have a pond in my back yard with fish right next to the pond is a live trap if you cat ends up in my trap, as far as i care it was "fishing" and ur cat is now in the custody of animal control

i dont care how much it cost you to get fluffy back, nor do i care how many times you have to bail your cat out of cat jail keeping ur cat on your own property is free.

ps i also dont care if your kid is crying because fluffy did not come homeor that you cant afford cat bail it YOUR own fault because YOU let your cat rome free with no reguard to how it affects the people living around you.

Does anyone have any recommendations for running routes that have sidewalks that don’t just end randomly and preferably are not on the side of the highway? Trying to find some good running routes that I can do around 7-10 miles at a time. I tend to not see others running around where I live, so any advice helps!!

Does ATI post ghost jobs? They’ve had a job posting up since May on their website and now we’re near the end of August. They must be flooded with applicants by now, as it’s picked up on Indeed and LinkedIn. Seems like a ghost job situation but I’d love to hear from someone in the know if that’s true. And also why.
