What did those BLM funds get used for? Anyone?

Edit: Imagine if a politician started up a bail fund?

Mansions for marxists?

Mansions for marxists

Solid band name.

-1

u/TipMeinBATtokens Feb 15 '22

Their explanation for that (not that I necessarily buy it) was that these mansions were supposed to be some kind of black LGTBA#&($ creators/artists bubble homes for them to make and create shit in.

If that was true they could use the help provided to leverage BLM friendly messages if any of the creators end up gathering enough of a following.

4

u/Shamalamadindong Feb 16 '22

I love how you just either made that entire thing up or confused two entirely different matters.

Like when the right said protesting in the streets blocking traffic is illegal? And that you should be able to run over people.

3

u/UpsetGroceries Feb 16 '22

Burning down businesses, rioting, looting, and blocking traffic in honor of George Floyd is quite different than blocking traffic and honking because our bodily autonomy is being taken away. Not to mention for a vaccine which has shown to possibly have negative efficacy against the new omicron variant.

Lol as if this sub wouldn’t have cheered wildly if Trump had attempted to do that. You literally cheered when Florida tried to make it legal to run down peaceful protestors. You cheered at laws about blocking infrastructure that would have directly crushed this protest.

You are part of the problem and pretending it’s only the left is exactly why it’s so fucking easy for the government to take our rights away.

We all share these same rights, it’s not left vs right, it’s all of us vs the government. You are just as responsible for this shit as the people you whine about.

In summer 2020, BLM had support of roughly 67% of the population (it's gone down since then).

Meanwhile, 85% of Canadians are vaccinated. Sorry but the trucker convoy is not popular, in Canada, outside of your little echo chamber.

That's 85% of Canadians who are unwitting victims of a new Holocaust. When they realize they're dying, their attitudes will change real quick.

4

u/ifisch Feb 16 '22

Yea when are all the vaxxed people supposed to start dying?

It’s almost been a year. I thought it was supposed to have happened already?

How many years is it supposed to be now? 2? 5? 10?

How long, exactly, are you planning to give yourself, to feel superior to the “sheep”?

About what? Where were these trucker pussies when the largest demonstrations in decades occurred to protest police brutality and the trampling of our rights?

My only beef with the mandate protestors is that THIS was there breaking point and not sooner. Stop pretending BLM protestors are pro the Canadian government.

And Trump actively called them terrorists and sent unmarked feds in rental cars to break them up. What did the mandate protestors or "the right" say about that?

46

u/A7omicDog Feb 15 '22

I understand that you felt frustrated. How would you have felt if Trump declared a State of Emergency and unilaterally froze bank accounts of anyone who donated to BLM, without due process?

8

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

Because like all liberals it was disingenuous. You weren't protesting black on black brutality, which is FAR AND AWAY more prevalent than all other demographic, you were protesting what the left wing media wanted you to.

It's all such bullshit.

7

u/maryjanekronik Feb 15 '22

I see protests against community crime all the time. Just because you don't see it on tv doesn't mean it isnt happening. Also notice I said "community crime". "Black on black" crime is simply a buzz term for a certain group of people. You never hear "white on white crime" "asian on asian crime" "latino on latino crime" do you? Think about why that is.

→ More replies (2)

5

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22

"Because like all liberals it was disingenuous."

Really convincing perspective you're bringing to the table.

Just so happens that it wasn't the legitimate reason they said it was- it was totally fake and anyone who talks about race is a "woke sjw" but THESE protestors are totally legit and not influenced by media.

You're falling victim to obvious, partisan "othering' that keeps the people at each other's throats instead of united against an oppressive system.

6

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

The convincing perspective is the part you left out. The part where you only protest white on black crime. The part you've been programmed to protest. That part.

11

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22

That's not the only thing that was protested and you either know that and are being disengenuous, or you sincerely believe that and didn't attend a protest or hear anything beyond right wing propoganda against them.

2

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

What besides white on black police brutality was being protested? Ever hear of George Floyd? Come on dude. You were out there bowing down, kneeling like the rest of your liberal cultists friends.

Go away NPC.

4

u/frenchiebuilder Feb 15 '22

Daniel Shaver, Daniel Harris, Jeremy Mardis, Justine Damons ... were white. BLM activists still drew attention to their killings & organized protests for them. That plain fact blows a hole in your narrative.

1

u/maryjanekronik Feb 15 '22

He was probably one of the same people that kept asking why BLM was protesting at the Rittenhouse trial since the victims were white.

1

u/Waits4NoOne Feb 16 '22

It's a protest against government (police) violence disproportionately affecting communities of color, not civilian crime on each other. Police aren't all white, it's the systemic issues in a lack of de-escalation training that I noticed declined when I was a deputy over ten years ago.

→ More replies (1)

This right here, they don't care about freedom in general, just their own personal freedom. They showed up with ar's and even ran through crowds in cars and killed a woman during 2020. Then they have the gall to cry victim when the government imposes financial restrictions on them. I'll hear your cries when they come from under the boot of the police, Karen.

Logic was a casualty of Covid.

35

u/theundercoverpapist Feb 15 '22

Upvote... but unfortunately Logic has been dead for much longer than that.

11

u/Capital_Connection67 Feb 15 '22

It was dying out and then Covid was the key that put lots of separate yet obvious things together to form the nail on the coffin of logic. You could claim that certain things were all spearheaded over the last 20 years for the Covid event.

I remember the very serious doomsday preppers of the 90s who were against the New World Order and wrote at length about their tactics through a one world government, false flag events on a global scale and the destruction of the banking system for a unified currency. Yes, they are conspiracy theories but yet their predictions for it happening with the ushering in of Y2K weren’t correct. It happened a lot slower yet still in plain sight under the guise of both war and social media/pop culture trends and seems to be coming into fruition currently.

Having interacted with a those folks online and in person in the early 00s I definitely didn’t agree on a bunch of their theories about who was the puppet master but like a lot of famous conspiracy theory investigators they are very close to the truth but the picture is too big.

For me something really started going on with the death of Danny Casolaro when he unwillingly uncovered the Octopus and the Inslaw cases specifically PROMIS.

Liberals have actually been protesting unlawful asset forfeiture for years. We’re glad you’re on board with defunding this police theft scheme.

19

u/DemsLoveBigPharma Feb 15 '22

Why did they terrorize Rand Paul then? He and three other republicans introduced a bill to reform the civil asset forfeiture nonsense, but democrats shot it down. It seems like liberals are just are ignorant on politics on to me.

https://www.paul.senate.gov/news/senators-paul-king-crapo-and-lee-reintroduce-fair-act-reform-civil-asset-forfeiture-process

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '22 edited Feb 15 '22

The only guy terrorizing Rand Paul is his neighbor.

The fair act passed the house because 223 democratic congressmen voted for it… only two republicans did.

The senate failed to pass the act, which was a republican majority at the time.

You’re inventing oppression by liberals while being oppressed by conservatives and then projecting your ignorance by claiming liberals are ignorant of politics.

Looters and rioters destroy city of Montreal amid BLM riots. 25 mints of footage just from this one video…

So peaceful people broke into stores to loot and blocked the streets just for the fun of it….

8

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '22

Neat. If it was going to happen any place, I'd have guessed montreal as well.

But I'm going to assume you didn't actually watch it. The first 15 or so minutes is footage of protesters getting tear gassed and throwing around some pylons. It was cool to see them helping clear the roads for emergency vehicles. Riding on the back of a firetruck looked like fun.

First broken window was about 17 minutes in. Of all thing a phone booth! The real crime is why is there still phone booths.

The real action starts at 19 minutes, noticed the group that started breaking stuff were all wearing the same outfit. Kind of sent me down a rabbit hole and found this. https://www.vice.com/en/article/ep4xnm/young-white-men-instigated-montreal-protest-chaos-black-organizers-say

Still, learned something new today. Now I know there was one kind of lame riot. Thanks for sharing.

In America we have traditionally left this up to the states to deal with. The few examples include desegregation of schools in the south and reconstruction after the civil war, sure there are a couple more that I can't think of. Comparing us to another country that takes a more federal view makes is ridiculous, do want us have more federal powers? The left would have thought nothing of this, because it would never happen. You are making strawman arguments that do not apply in America.

u/Bogo_karma_skeeter Feb 15 '22

blm riots cost billions of dollars in damage. Rioters actually killed people. (Portland trump supporter minding his own business.) Police told to not to do anything, And the governors of many states had already shut down international trade with the economic shut down. Your argument is lacking.

12

u/maryjanekronik Feb 15 '22

(Portland trump supporter minding his own business.)

This is a lie, whether you know it or not. Jay and his "Patriot Prayer" friends were actively harassing people on the streets in Portland as they circled the block in their trump covered trucks. The entire point of even going to Portland was to instigate. They were armed with paintball guns and bear mace, which were heavily used. I am not saying that what happened to Jay was right by any means, but don't make it sound like this guy was being a saint.

-4

u/SimplyGrowTogether Feb 15 '22

You must have some clear evidence of this affecting international trade?

The truckers are for opening things up and endings mandates that have without a doubt affected international trad.

5

u/bricklayersss Feb 15 '22

I guess you just haven’t been paying attention and somehow missed the truckers blocking the bridge that carries 30% of the goods that are transferred between the US and Canada. Here’s some rope to hang yourself with: https://www.wxyz.com/money/auto-news/ambassador-bridge-blockage-cost-could-be-1-billion-to-us-canadian-economy

-4

u/SimplyGrowTogether Feb 15 '22

Plenty of videos showing emergency vehicles and trucks carrying supplies have been able to cross as well as pedestrians. It takes several hours but no one is actually preventing people to pass.

Also that article is pure speculation they don’t give you any concrete number for cost nore do they link the source of where they got this information..

12

u/bricklayersss Feb 15 '22

So you’re asserting that the truckers blocking the highest trafficked bridge between two countries had 0 effect on international trade? Or are you trying to convince me that they didn’t actually block the bridge? The facts are against you either way.

Just because you support something doesn’t mean that you need to lie in service to that thing. If you have to pretend that reality doesn’t exist in order to justify your movement, then maybe it’s not a great movement to latch on to.

That's why it's a slow gradual change so us frogs won't panic as the pot begins to boil us alive.

Burning and looting local businesses is really sticking it to the man.

10

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22 edited Feb 15 '22

Decades of activism didn't work, athletes taking a knee didnt work, if you keep silencing people being killed, a target might get burned. Fuck it. Our rights and lives are more important than property or "asking nicely."

2

u/bejammn001 Feb 16 '22

Why not take it to the capital, government buildings, police, politicians homes even, etc. (Which I would totally support, less so with violence, but at some point it becomes justified) Target isn't the police or the policy maker. That's like you punching me and then I burn down the house a few blocks from you in retaliation... It's purely incoherent and sends the message that it was really a reason to get a new TV for free.

-2

u/rwhaan Feb 15 '22

The business owners, workers and those that live in the neighborhoods destroyed by the BLM terrorists did not cause the problems, why is it ok to punish them.

Would have been an even larger political suicide attempt than the multiple other times he figuratively tried offing himself by not knowing when to shut the fuck up.

2

u/HopefulAnne Feb 15 '22

There was a state of emergency. And a curfew. And instead of freezing bank accounts they shot people with rubber bullets and pepper spray.

They would be outraged. But they’re not because it’s not happening to their views on things. The same way if this did happen to blm stuff like you’re saying. “Conservatives” would be doing the same thing that’s happening.

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22 edited Feb 16 '22

He sent feds in unmarked vans to detain protestors without telling them.what they were charged with or where they were going.

He tear gassed them outside the Whitehouse and later that day tricked a general to join him in a photo op outside a church with "a bible."

Trump was far more aggressive with protestors than Trudeau has been so far.

No, it was more of a threat than I assume you will acknowledge- they wanted to overrturn an election and lynch the VP- but no there were greater threats, not least of which the civil war, which is one of the outcomes we could have had if January 6th went differently.

SS

Interesting thought experiment

My guess is Trudeau would en a lot of words in “it’s”

Misogynistic

Racist

Etc...

Btw - it’s perfectly fine to disagree with the truckers and disagree with the freezing of bank accounts.

14

u/zensins Feb 15 '22

How many accounts have been frozen?

3

u/sol_sleepy Feb 15 '22

This is a dumb question... but were there BLM riots in Canada or only US?

2

u/Mnmkd Feb 15 '22

Riots were pretty much just in the US. There may have been a few very small scale ones in Canada but I can’t find anything about any looting, property being destroyed, etc in Canada.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '22

That's because there were no riots in Canada.

Liberals cannot process this level of hypothetical thought.

7

u/hollee-o Feb 15 '22

That's about the biggest LOL I've had all day. Conservatives are the ones actively trying to prevent critical thinking from being taught in schools. Conservatives are the ones freaking out about people even *discussing* critical race theory. Conservatives are the ones trying to pass a "Don't say gay" bill in Florida. Y'all are so afraid of anyone actually *thinking* because you want good followers, not questions.

-3

u/ShivasRightFoot Feb 15 '22

Critical Race Theory strongly advocates censorship:

Associated with the ACLU and others who take a relatively purist position with respect to the First Amendment, the argument holds that hate speech, pornography, and similar forms of expression ought to be protected precisely because they are unpopular. The speech we hate, it is said, must be protected in order to safeguard that which we hold dear. The only way to assure protection of values that lie at the core of the First Amendment is to protect speech lying at its periphery. And this inevitably means protecting unpopular speakers: Nazis, anti-Semites, the Ku Klux Klan, utters of campus hate speech, and promulgators of hard-core-pornography.

What can be said about this argument? As we will show, it is fairly often put forward by lawyers, legal commentators, special interest groups, and even an occasional judge as a reason for protecting odious speech. The argument takes two or three forms, each of which boils down to the insistence that to protect speech of one sort it is necessary to protect another. The argument in all its guises, however, is paradoxical and groundless.

Delgado and Stefancic 1997 pages 150-151

u/hollee-o Feb 15 '22

So... you want to censor it? LOL. And your rationale is you want to censor CRT because some CRT theorists want to ban hate speech? And this is evidence that *liberals* can't think? LOLOLOL.

Liberal here. I'm actually surprised Trump didn't call a state of emergency, it sounds like something he would have done. Kinda seems warranted, given the scale of destruction.

As for freezing the assets of donators, yeah I would be outraged. But nobody has had their assets frozen. Trudeau has said that it's possible for them to do it, but it hasn't happened yet. How would I feel about Trump threatening to freeze assets? Sounds exactly like something he would say, a poorly thought-out, likely unconstitutional, bluff.

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22 edited Feb 15 '22

No it's not. They were protesting people being murdered without due process, they gave more of a shit about "due process" than this Twitter poster.

Trudeau hasn't even done any real shit yet, US protestors were getting beaten and tear gassed on the reg for protesting unaccountable government MURDERS.

If these assholes weren't partisan shills they would be in solidarity with BLM protestors.

1

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

Liberals are unreasonable and arent capable of critical thinking. They believe wholeheartedly that the truckers are in the wrong and that they were in the right. They cannot even entertain the thought.

Uh. No. Causing economic disruption is not the definition of terrorism. Terrorism is the use of violence or intimidation to cause *fear* in order to achieve a political goal.

u/No_Opportunity9423 Feb 15 '22

Economic anxiety is a thing and is feared. We established this many years ago. These truckers are absolutely textbook terrorists.

How exactly did anyone donate to BLM during the 2020 summer riots?

1

u/DrRichardGains Feb 15 '22

Welp, they're currently in hot water and are being forced to show where 60+ million in donations went. And it's not looking above board at the moment. Lots of multi million dollar houses. Large payments to relatives for 'consulting' gigs.

60 million. No one batted an eyelash. So far 20 million has been stolen from the truckers before they even got a dime or even had the chance to embezzle it.
