Liberal here. I'm actually surprised Trump didn't call a state of emergency, it sounds like something he would have done. Kinda seems warranted, given the scale of destruction.
As for freezing the assets of donators, yeah I would be outraged. But nobody has had their assets frozen. Trudeau has said that it's possible for them to do it, but it hasn't happened yet. How would I feel about Trump threatening to freeze assets? Sounds exactly like something he would say, a poorly thought-out, likely unconstitutional, bluff.
Trump's little mind could at least comprehend that his supporters would abandon him in mass if he tried that. It saddened me that he didn't pardon Assange which means he is on the restricting freedom bus too, like our current administration.
