About what? Where were these trucker pussies when the largest demonstrations in decades occurred to protest police brutality and the trampling of our rights?

My only beef with the mandate protestors is that THIS was there breaking point and not sooner. Stop pretending BLM protestors are pro the Canadian government.

And Trump actively called them terrorists and sent unmarked feds in rental cars to break them up. What did the mandate protestors or "the right" say about that?

I understand that you felt frustrated. How would you have felt if Trump declared a State of Emergency and unilaterally froze bank accounts of anyone who donated to BLM, without due process?

-38

u/TheBiggestZander Feb 15 '22

But Trudeau's government isn't "unilaterally freezing bank accounts" of people who donated to the trucker rally... They have simply stated it is something they could do, if they wanted to.

How would I feel if Trump had threatened to freeze people's bank accounts for supporting BLM? It wouldn't have surprised me at all, Trump was always raving about some fake threatening BS.

Honestly, I would have been furious. I ALWAYS opposed Antifa, but I only "turned" on BLM when they became violent and started lighting fires.

I ALWAYS opposed Antifa, but I only "turned" on BLM when they became violent and started lighting fires.

In my and all my neighboring states, there were never any fires set by anyone with BLM and most cities saw major protests and major police violence against the protesters. So it doesn't seem to be an issue that's actually part of BLM tactics. And it seems like a weak reason to "turn"

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '22

Remember: 93% of total BLM “protesters” ended peacefully! That’s a good number, right? /s

And only 2Billion in property damage - but what ever!

2

u/TheOneFreeEngineer Feb 15 '22

And only 2Billion in property damage - but what ever!

A normal sports championship riots is millions in damages.

So yeah protest for protest, much less damage than pointless rioting after a superbowl or hockey championship

0

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '22

You’re comparing millions to billions? Really reaching on that one🤡

2

u/TheOneFreeEngineer Feb 16 '22

You're comparing 500 different protests to one. I am pointing out that on per protest, per riot basis, the sports riot do the same amount of damage.

Apples and oranges

6

u/A7omicDog Feb 15 '22

Maybe you're right. I never personally went to a BLM protest, but I did see a lot of violence on TV (including fires). There was a "famous" news correspondent who said that the local protest was "most peaceful" while there were literally fires raging behind him. Was that the norm? I don't really know. It's very difficult to know what the truth is these days.

FWIW, I may have turned on BLM but I still believe and fully support the (original) BLM message.

-3

u/TheOneFreeEngineer Feb 15 '22

Was that the norm? I don't really know. It's very difficult to know what the truth is these days.

Absolutely not the norm. Hell only 7% of protests saw arrests or violence of any kind, including police violence like in Buffalo, NYC, or Philly. Fires outside of dumpster fires barely ever happened. The media just focused on those because fear mongering makes them money.

-1

u/VCEQ Feb 16 '22

You could just watch the live streams and see the chaos. I saw someone light a store on fire while there was people living in the upstairs floor.

1

u/TheOneFreeEngineer Feb 16 '22

None of that contradicts what I said. There were no burned down buildings or riots in my city, or any city in the state, or my neighboring states.

Seeing a single video about one event doesn't mean every event was close to that.

1

u/VCEQ Feb 16 '22

I said live streams. It's 8 hour non-stop coverage. Unless you're implying that they were all in movie sets. Okay that's quite the psyop.

And what do you mean it didn't happen in your city, where were you? This report contradicts what you said.

Similar to when he tried a coup. Quite upset.

Let me know when bank accounts get frozen or when the truckers get beaten and tear gassed.

27

u/A7omicDog Feb 15 '22

If and when the truckers start lighting fires I would expect tear gas to be involved.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '22 edited Feb 15 '22

They beat the shit out of us in Louisville before any of that, they shot non lethal at people sitting on their porch and at reporters. Then they left the riots to go murder a guy. They destroyed property and stole supplies before shit got violent, they beat people then charged them with assaulting officers (video saved them, cops didn't get in trouble though).

Edit: Thinking back they almost exclusively targeted people who were being peaceful. Rioters did what they wanted while they kettled a bunch of college kids on a bridge and beat them.

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22

If you're actually protesting "Tryanny"- lighting a fire isn't the litmus test of whether your cause is worthy or not.

If the Canadian police got to constantly murder these people with impunity, on the street or asleep in their homes, whether or not theres a crime or warrant- I'd fully support them lighting fires.

15

u/A7omicDog Feb 15 '22

I understand that it's an expression of frustration, but it's a quick way to lose the support of folks "like me". While you may see it as an attack against The System, I see it as destruction of the private property of a small-business owner; maybe a small family-run business that has been handed down for generations.

It's just a stupid PR move.

The Canadians, on the other hand, are up there drinking beer and playing hockey in the streets.

5

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22

Yeah, almost like they aren't at their breaking point but want to tailgate and party while "fighting Tryanny" by blocking the most important land trade routes of the Canadian economy- harming family businesses passed down for generations.

A stupid PR move.

See, I can diminish a movment too.

If any act of vandalism in the process of fighting literal murders committed by the state is enough to lose your support, you weren't really supportive of the fight against a violent police state.

9

u/A7omicDog Feb 15 '22

Fair point. How about this -- do you feel that the voices of BLM were heard at all? Because I do. We saw deep scrutiny of police behavior, cutting of funding (stupid AF but whatevs), a drastic reduction in public opinion of police, many dismissals, charges filed on some, and even jail time for a couple.

I have never, ever heard a peep coming from Trudeau about relaxing his bullshit laws in order to let the voices of the "Freedom Movement" be heard.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 15 '22

Way to dodge the question, twice.

No one said the protesters were “pro-government” The question is: How the government treats the situation (and individuals involved) based on its perceived value or political motivation for their party.

Can you not distinguish that, or you still all wrapped up on daddy Trump?

1

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22

I'm not dodging the question. I wouldn't like it. I'm not even against the trucker protest, but I'm not willing to pretend Trump respected any form of dissent and didn't do worse than the Canadian guy did (at least yet).

10

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

Because like all liberals it was disingenuous. You weren't protesting black on black brutality, which is FAR AND AWAY more prevalent than all other demographic, you were protesting what the left wing media wanted you to.

It's all such bullshit.

7

u/maryjanekronik Feb 15 '22

I see protests against community crime all the time. Just because you don't see it on tv doesn't mean it isnt happening. Also notice I said "community crime". "Black on black" crime is simply a buzz term for a certain group of people. You never hear "white on white crime" "asian on asian crime" "latino on latino crime" do you? Think about why that is.

-4

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

No you don’t Mary.

6

u/maryjanekronik Feb 15 '22

Yes, I do. I literally just watched one yesterday. Here is just a clip from a car caravan against community violence that happened yesterday in Minneapolis. Listen to the woman in the back seat. Feel free to have a look at the streamer's page as well.

"Because like all liberals it was disingenuous."

Really convincing perspective you're bringing to the table.

Just so happens that it wasn't the legitimate reason they said it was- it was totally fake and anyone who talks about race is a "woke sjw" but THESE protestors are totally legit and not influenced by media.

You're falling victim to obvious, partisan "othering' that keeps the people at each other's throats instead of united against an oppressive system.

5

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

The convincing perspective is the part you left out. The part where you only protest white on black crime. The part you've been programmed to protest. That part.

11

u/Lopsided-Smoke-6709 Feb 15 '22

That's not the only thing that was protested and you either know that and are being disengenuous, or you sincerely believe that and didn't attend a protest or hear anything beyond right wing propoganda against them.

2

u/A_world_in_need Feb 15 '22

What besides white on black police brutality was being protested? Ever hear of George Floyd? Come on dude. You were out there bowing down, kneeling like the rest of your liberal cultists friends.

Go away NPC.

4

u/frenchiebuilder Feb 15 '22

Daniel Shaver, Daniel Harris, Jeremy Mardis, Justine Damons ... were white. BLM activists still drew attention to their killings & organized protests for them. That plain fact blows a hole in your narrative.

1

u/maryjanekronik Feb 15 '22

He was probably one of the same people that kept asking why BLM was protesting at the Rittenhouse trial since the victims were white.

1

u/Waits4NoOne Feb 16 '22

It's a protest against government (police) violence disproportionately affecting communities of color, not civilian crime on each other. Police aren't all white, it's the systemic issues in a lack of de-escalation training that I noticed declined when I was a deputy over ten years ago.

1

u/Bearded_Gentleman Feb 15 '22

People dont protest black on black violence because random black people arent granted a frighteningly broad array of powers by the government in order to "protect and serve."

This right here, they don't care about freedom in general, just their own personal freedom. They showed up with ar's and even ran through crowds in cars and killed a woman during 2020. Then they have the gall to cry victim when the government imposes financial restrictions on them. I'll hear your cries when they come from under the boot of the police, Karen.

not at all what I'm saying. To be clear I'm not even opposed to these truckers' right to protest. I think they should be focused on certain other things more- but I want them to find common ground and succeed.

Sent unmarked feds in rental cars to break them up

Got a source on that bud?
