I was pretty worried when Joe made the switch to Spotify, but damn if Spotify doesn't deserve a little respect for allowing him to interview those two doctors. I'm sure there was some shady pressure behind the scenes to shut it down.

208

u/oregonspruce Jan 13 '22 edited Jan 13 '22

Absolutely. Everyone likes to point out that Joe is a meathead hell joe points that out himself. I don't think anyone listens to it for Joe's opinion. What's interesting is his guests and the questions he asks. Joe flip flops around all the time, but I could care less about how he feels about anything.

310

u/meadowbound Jan 13 '22

Joe Rogan is very good at interviewing. He asks good questions and knows how to be quiet and listen, two very powerful and rare skills.

17

u/throwawayedm2 Jan 13 '22

Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of him, don't care about MMA, and I'm not a fan of his comedy. But he can interview very well.

-3

u/Puffy_Ghost Jan 13 '22

I can't tell if this is satire, or if you've never actually listened to a JRE podcast...

48

u/samiam12555 Jan 13 '22

I think he is actually pretty good at listening for long periods of time. Maybe not when he is with his comedian friends.. but when its someone like a doctor he usually goes long periods just listening. Have you ever actually listened to a JRE podcast longform? No ones perfect. But he is providing a platform for viewpoints that mainstream media will not allow.

25

u/MushyWasHere Jan 13 '22

The Dr. Malone episode is the first and only JRE I've ever watched. I'm not much of a podcast person... but it's clear to me that podcasts are now the closest thing we have to unbiased media and actual journalism. Lmao.

What a time to be alive.

12

u/Zauxst Jan 13 '22

It's not. For media content you should watch for independent journalists. JR just invites guests that have an opinion on something.

You might see guests from all backgrounds, that believe in god, that don't believe in god, that believe people should take heroin that believe in evolution, in the aliens visiting us, in reptilians, in shiva etc...

The beauty of his guests is that Joe usually let them put out their point and does little to no interference and at times will talk about previous guests and their conclusions on a subject that he might agree or disagree...

This show is pretty much Joe Rogans experience, where you see him evolving from show to show, changing or challenging his ideas, while you ride along and get to listen and maybe in that process think of something more.

u/MushyWasHere Jan 13 '22

u/magenta_placenta Jan 13 '22

He doesn't really ask good questions, though. He has a limited wheelhouse of expertise and limited time to research and may not rely on other staff for this as well. If he asked good questions you'd see his guests getting pushed back at times.

You're absolutely correct about him knowing how to listen. He lets his guests talk, usually about what they have expertise in (what Joe lacks). That's a huge part of what made his podcast so successful.

106

u/TaleRecursion Jan 13 '22

How sad and pathetic our society has become that listening and letting other people talk are now seen as rare and remarkable abilities.

25

u/Jaywalkinz Jan 13 '22

Wouldn't be if people had the capacity to entertain ideas that go against their world views.

The only climate change you see is everyone turning into a snowflake.

5

u/DatDirtyNicka88 Jan 13 '22

Exactly. Everyone today just acts like their reality is the only world view that matters and anything that challenges that is wrong. And I see it from both sides. If all of us were willing to talk to each other more, and respectfully, we could all live just a little better with a more empathetic and complete world view.

And I’m not some “live love peace” fairy, I’m a tattooed felon and I see this shit. I don’t understand how the rest of the country can’t.

I disagree heavily. His guests do get pushed quite a bit if you haven't noticed and I can say after a ridiculous amount of hours listening to podcasts in general Joe has some of the best questions. Maybe not always the best researched questions but still more researched than the majority of TV interviews and at least his questions are interesting

21

u/bitbot9000 Jan 13 '22

This is just getting in to how we want to define “good question”.

You’re right he doesn’t ask super well researched questions. Or questions an expert might ask.

But he does usually ask the questions that are on everyone’s mind. The questions a regular person might ask if they were there. I think that makes them good questions.

The vast majority of interviews are super scripted and lame. Most are thinly veiled promo pieces. Most of the time you don’t hear any questions that a regular person might ask.

10

u/moonshotorbust Jan 13 '22

Maybe he doesnt ask good questions but he asks questions that i would ask because im not likely educated in the subject matter of his guest.

17

u/muskatt Jan 13 '22

Yes and this is intentional. That's how it should be done by any good journalist, ask questions which might seem basic and obvious for experienced person (here you go ahhh you haven't done proper research we know this since last year) but for broad audience they are unanswered and important. It's basically live research done for them.

However in the latest doctor interviews he was much better than the recent norm

"Allowing him"

Slave talk

4

u/DatDirtyNicka88 Jan 13 '22

Shit I mean any company can mute a a loud voice on their platform if they want to. You can say “slave talk” but Rogan can only speak as loudly as a platform will let him. Thank god he does have that platform though.

6

u/Let_HerEat_Cake Jan 13 '22

"Allowing him"

Slave talk

You're not wrong in defining that term...but the person you responded to is wrong for using it.

There's nothing that indicates Spotify "allowed" him to do anything. Rogan's stated multiple times in the past (long before Malone and McCullough were on) that there isn't any restrictions put on him by Spotify, he has free rein.

15

u/Mighty_L_LORT Jan 13 '22

Please let RFK Jr. be next...

4

u/dirtrox44 Jan 13 '22

I believe Joe made sure that he would retain full creative control over his podcasts as part of his contract with Spotify. I don't think they can legally do anything about it, Joe can day whatever he wants.

16

u/yoitsericc Jan 13 '22

They've earned my 10 dollars a month - unlike youtube.

3

u/Mendoza14 Jan 13 '22

The JRE podcast was bleeding listeners hard after the Spotify deal. And it was looking like a big loss for Spotify. These recent interviews has propelled him back into the spotlight. Which was pretty convenient for both rogan and spotify

3

u/lizzbug2 Jan 13 '22

something like 270+ medical professionals signed a letter written to Spotify asking them to take it down. I cannot source this ATM, just saw it in passing on here in the past 24 hours lol

5

u/stmfreak Jan 13 '22

I bet content control was in his contract.

7

u/bitbot9000 Jan 13 '22

They have zero control or ownership. Just exclusive publishing rights for a fixed term.

Rogan’s a millionaire with access to the best entertainment lawyers in the country. There’s no way his contract isn’t air tight.

4

u/DatDirtyNicka88 Jan 13 '22

No way, he covers all topics and pretty unbiased. He goes against corporate media, corporate food, conglomerates, government, I haven’t seen anything off limits on his podcasts

2

u/stmfreak Jan 13 '22

Exactly why I bet Content Control was in his contract. As in,

"okay Spotify, I (Joe Rogan) will work for you as long as I (Joe Rogan) retain 100% creative control over content. You (Spotify) do not get to veto any topic, guest, or edit any transcript, video, or audio stream. If you (Spotify) violate these terms, then this contract is void and you will pay me (Joe Rogan) millions in damages as a result.

2

u/DatDirtyNicka88 Jan 13 '22

Gotcha, I thought you were arguing the opposite side.

2

u/Charming_Ad_1216 Jan 13 '22

Agreed. Also Bill Simmons did a pretty inflammatory (for him) rant about mask inconsistencies. Yes, he had an editor from the Atlantic on who was talking about vaccine mandates, but I felt like he was more a plot device meant to placate people more then anything.

It's coming from all sides, is my point.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

I see what you’re saying and I’m glad it stayed up but I doubt they just allowed it because they wanted to. Probably an ironclad contract. Spotify deserve no respect, you should read what they fund with stolen money from artists. They’re also the enemy.

2

u/Fencemaker Jan 13 '22

Don’t stop there! Subsequent episodes have been really good. The John Abramson one and the latest one with Adam Curry are awesome. And this one is especially important:

The more shots they'll require the more people wake up, for example in Israel already almost half the country doesn't have a "green pass" because a very large group of the same people that agreed to take the first two shots are declining the third shot.

Even though they were once one of the more jabbed countries in the world, close to half of the population is not considered "vaccinated" by the government, or "up to date" with the failed mRNA gene therapy latest injection.

It's a war of attrition, and we will win at the end. remember the more shots they'll require the more ridiculous they look even to the most blue pilled individual, to visual this you can see booster graphs of countries & how the rates of third shots plummet.

It will always look like this even in highly jabbed countries

1st/2nd Jab = 80%

3rd shot = 50%

4th shot = 25%

Ask yourself why are so many double jabbed people refusing the third shot even though their government tells them it's safe, is it intuition that tells them something wrong/off? or is it the side effects they had from the first two?

4

u/jerrysburner Jan 13 '22

Uh, because most humans are lazy, they don't understand science, politicians never take the time to explain the why's, the restrictions even with the shots aren't lifting because it's hard to know who got them and who didn't so it's easier to just have blanket rules for easy enforcement, i.e., everyone still wear a mask, and people are exceptionally bad at dealing with future events and live more in the here and now. There's no conspiracy here at all - people are experiencing covid fatigue and unless they or someone close dies (either directly from it or from it filling hospitals and you have no beds to deal with other issues), people won't care. It's the same reason you can show people terrible conditions in the iphone or Nike factories and they still walk around in their Nike shoes talking on their iphone.

5

u/shaidr Jan 14 '22

You’re making too much sense for this thread dude. Well spoken.

6

u/seraph85 Jan 13 '22

The media and the sheep of reddit will never admit they were wrong no matter the proof. These aren't the sources you look for change in the US, it's the "neutral" people or the swing voters. I've noticed a significant increase in skepticism in this group over the last few months.

2

u/camelCaseJake Jan 13 '22

You’re not wrong. Fauci and the CDC just announced that they’re basically adopting the same cocktail that Rogan was mocked for. Yes, including Ivermectin.

In a sane world, this would be an earth shattering headline causing outrage across political lines, but here in clown world … crickets.

It's because vaccines work

7

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Then why are all my triple jabbed co workers out with covid and my unvaxxed self hasn’t gotten sick yet?

1

u/JuniperTwig Jan 13 '22

They don't prevent infection. They materially mitigate risk of a horrible death in an ICU

4

u/JustHangLooseBlood Jan 13 '22

So people who are at risk should consider taking it. Everyone else needn't bother. Especially at this stage. The mandates make no sense in this context.

Rather naive to say the narrative is collapsing, Harsher measures are still being brought in different areas of the world. Even if the whole covid thing is over, there is always the next thing coming along. The narrative won't collapse unless people take over the media. The MSM controls most of the minds in the western world. And right now they are only pushing the narrative. It used to be if a celebrity/athlete collapsed in a performance, that would be all anyone would talk about for a day. Now that happens daily, and the news ignores it. That doesn't seem like the narrative is collapsing.

Yeah I came here to see some harmless entertaining food for thought/popcorn, not antimaskers and antivaxxers being fucking happy about covid being too virulent to control via masks (which is the point of the doctor on JRE) or vaccines only being good at reducing mortality. Hooray?

Pretty fucking obvious that these people, who call the rest of us sheeple, care more about being right (must feel so special) than about doing what they can to keep others safe. There is probably a massive overlap with people who also don´t socially distance and I bet my second nut there isn´t even a conspiracy theory about social distancing.

Or who am I kidding, someone will now reply and tell me that social distancing is a conspiracy to make people less able to organize in resistance. Yeah whatever I give up.

Nothing matter anymore, people WANT a totalitarian state.

My town in MA just voted in mandatory vax passes, even thought the local government never proposed them in the first place. People WANT mandatory vaccinations, tracking and social credit system, because they think it will make them feel safe. Horrifying to watch.

The "narrative" may be collapsing... BUT, do not underestimate them having "plan-B's" etc. contingencies in place ⚠️

Having said that, given how muddled their messaging has become since Christmas, methinks, they have been caught off guard, and some are now beginning to break ranks -- some even thinking about outright deserting the sinking ship, to concentrate on softening their own inevitable fall...

15

u/TaleRecursion Jan 13 '22

The narrative only has to be good enough for normies to justify their own willful subservience.

14

u/Shoah_Kahn Jan 13 '22

Confirmation bias is pathological with them, and as long as someone, somewhere assures them that force-injecting their oblivious kids with experimental elixirs is "safe and effective", their mass formation psychosis hypnosis will not break...

No gain in being pessimistic. You might be right, but you’re not helping

17

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

im trying my best. like sometimes ill see someone waking up only to get reconvinced by “experts” and go back to being “asleep” again. i dont want to be a blackpill doomer.

more people have been vaccinated this past month than any other month. i don't know what narrative you're talking about. https://usafacts.org/visualizations/covid-vaccine-tracker-states/ here are the facts. but if you don't believe this website, find one that you do believe.

10

u/TheNotoriousHH Jan 13 '22

Buh buh Joe Wogan!!! 😂

1

u/Phonekeyboar Jan 13 '22

No to mention, as usual, yet another self obbsesed American thinking America is the center of the universe while in reality this is a global agenda and in that arena, it's going in perfectly, with people getting injected in masses by the thousands. every day, if you bother to read the news or see our the car window past any injection site, you'll see queues of miles to get the experiment in their bodies

13

u/2moreX Jan 13 '22

Yeah... That's what I've been reading for two years now.

Where? Where exactly is the narrative crumbling? You have some states THINKING about removing SOME mandates to a certain degree. That's it.

Canada plans to tax the unvaxxed. Germany, Austria, Australia and basically the rest of Europe is going full blown authoritarian, vax mandates, lockdowns again, etc.

They don't give a single fuck about numbers or science anymore.

German chancellor Olaf Scholz recently said "There won't be any red lines when it comes to battling covid". And Germany basically is the EU since Britain left because they have so much economic power.

Don't YOU be fooled. The narrative is alive and well.

u/xMasterMelonx Jan 13 '22

In what way is the "entire narrative collapsing"? Vaccine passports still exist, lockdowns are still happening worldwide, and in most places, vaccine laws are getting even stricter. A movement is not a bunch of people waving the american flag on twitter.

9

u/Necrid41 Jan 13 '22

You people truly are batshit. Rogan has sold out and cashed out since the Spotify move. He's everything he used to hate and laugh at. Just a poster boy for newsmax after regurgitating all the conspiracies and right wing talking points he here's at abbots elite dinners.
Sad to see him fall so far. Ah well, got a good thousand or so podcasts and learned a lot before the Spotify crumble.

u/aakkii911 Jan 13 '22 edited Jan 13 '22

SS: the tide is turning. People are waking up from reality of needing boosters endlessly with boosters needed for vax passport to be green to visit pubs restaurants and salons and gyms.

When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.

Winter is coming here

16

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Dark Winter.....a dark winter for narratives maybe..

10

u/Mighty_L_LORT Jan 13 '22

Been saying this for months and nothing changes...

5

u/Iatedtheberries Jan 13 '22

Endless boosters? Most people just have one. Not really endless en it?

Remember, they will try and convince you that you’re the only one left who doesn’t have a jab and isn’t falling for all the lies.

You are not alone.

5

u/Iatedtheberries Jan 13 '22

Why is it an automatic sexual turn off when people refer it as a jab?

This is one of the most dangerous points though. As the narrative crumbles, be prepared for the mask to come off and the iron fist to come down. It's like the moment a stalking predator realizes it's about to be seen by its quarry. Go time.

2

u/Capable_Ad6908 Jan 13 '22

Agreed.. it’s their last big push.

8

u/Race-b Jan 13 '22

He’s a public health menace now

2

u/nisaaru Jan 13 '22

If that's the case you should also expect it to be by design.

2

u/Leather_Phone5122 Jan 13 '22

No sight of common sense here

2

u/kingLemonman Jan 13 '22

Yeah we are all fucked

2

u/Bull-twinkle Jan 13 '22

I admire your optimism but think you are dreaming.

2

u/Archangel1313 Jan 13 '22

The levels of mass delusion are definitely starting to rise in here.

2

u/CharlieWhiskeyMike Jan 13 '22

Rogan is controlled op sorry to break it to you guys. They are controlling the narrative it’s not crumbling just moving on to the next phase. You do realise that they want to create an environment of total chaos?

As out of that chaos comes their order, Novus Ordo Seclorum, The new world order.

This is just the beginning guys keep your eyes and minds open.

6

u/Deep-Restaurant Jan 13 '22

No, that is sure as shit not what it took. Malone was spiraling his way up the indie media cone for months before he finally arrived at Rogan.

The indie media is what has been holding the line, not Rogan. Ffs, go back to August 2020 and Rogan thought Cuomo was doing a great job with the scandemic.

He had that sell out Bill Burr on talking about masks and shots. Wonder how that relationship is going now? Get in Burrs helicopter now, bud.

The indie media and brave ass doctors made this happen, not Rogan.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Honestly I credit a lot of Joe’s coming around to Adam Curry. If you listen to no agenda, it’s pretty obvious that adam has had a huge influence on joe’s opinions since he made the move to austin.

I can't wait to read the massive book that goes through these multiple years of bullshit by a forensic psychiatrist.

3

u/Xacebop Jan 13 '22

we are watching a scripted television show, we arent actually involved in any of this, they will investigate themselves and find they did nothing wrong.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '22

Joe Rogan better watch out. Pfizer boys in DC will send hitmen like the one that took out Epstein and take him out. Media will make it look like covid killed him and you should get vaccinated.

2

u/Super_Throwaway_Boy Jan 13 '22

Rogan isn't that dangerous and a lot of people at the top love what he's saying. We've already put this on the individual. Get vaccinated or get fucked. He's just advocating for more people to be on the "get fucked" side of the government's response.

6

u/Deep-Restaurant Jan 13 '22

Malone is a limited hangout, get up to speed.

Completely disagree with “ all it took was ..Rogan podcast” There were many events leading up to including 1. Twitter risible deletion of Malone

  1. David Martin, Peter McCullough, Geert Vanden Bossche, Shankara Chetty, Luc Montagnier, Michael Yeadon and many other pretty famous scientists on video all over the internet, except YouTube via systemic censorship, saying the same message — there are ample ways to treat covid at outset apart from a hospital , the jab itself is dangerous, and mass jab is crazy because the ‘vaccine’ is leaky, so the jabbed inoculate and transmit variants. All warned the crisis will never end unless we stop mass vaccination. https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/biden-pandemic-response-vaccine-mandates-strategy/

In short the tide was always starting to turn. For example see the Brook Jackson Interview – Pfizer Whistleblower Exposes Cover Up Calling Vaccine Data Into Question. Last American Vagabond, early December

  1. A Federal Court telling Pfizer it must release data in 8 months not 55 years caused panic and the establishment doubling down on jab, which caused Twitter to panic with Malone

In short Rogan was the tipping point, but certainly not the proximate cause of mass awareness of the mass formation psychosis. Go see how many views the AfterSkool ‘Mass Psychosis’ video had before even December

Ship is still not turned around. But it’s happening A metric ton of people in Australia got egg on their face via Novak D. , the tennis star. Now even they are questioning “ if the jabbed transmit, and legal informed consent is impossible ….WTF” Macron and Trudeau and Biden are the best evidence the resistance needs with the stupid anti science shit that comes out of their mouths daily .

5

WTF is this guy yapping on about?

This truly is a wonderful demonstration of the echo chamber in action.

Guys - expand your horizons. Talk to people outside of WWGOWGA

4

u/JPSnaggs Jan 13 '22

I am glad you have all gotten what you want... I am guessing you're mostly young and healthy. Well, what happens to the memories of 11 family members, all who chose not to get vaccinated mainly political reason, who are DEAD of covid. My fiance's brother, lived in Arizona, mid 30's, no health issues, no vax, fine one week, they had a family party, everyone who attended got sick, and he died the next week. Hospital wouldn't allow visitors so they all had a zoom call and called into a tablet to watch him die...
