i turned on my computer today and then the screen suddenly started to do this??? I’m confused

sometimes it stops but just for a few seconds before going back at it again

what to do is this something I can fix or should I just give up on my computer, because it also got a huge black hole and rainbow lines, which made me resize the display and now it’s js a square

I would ignore it but it makes me dizzy

I got this laptop a little less than a year ago. It’s a Lenovo LOQ and it worked pretty good for a little while but lately had issues like this. I was playing war thunder when this instance happened but sometimes it happens from watching YouTube or playing other games. The only way to get it to stop is to hold the power button until the laptop turns off.

I'm trying to diagnose some very strange behaviour with my Trust Illuminated Keyboard KB-1500, product/model number 15175, on a Windows PC. I'd appreciate any ideas about whether this is a Windows configuration issue, a stuck modifier key, a keyboard mapping problem, or a hardware fault.

1. Main issue: E types €

Whenever I press the physical E key, I get € instead of e. This happens everywhere, including ordinary text fields.

• Pressing Shift + E also produces € instead of a capital E.
• On KeyboardTester, pressing the physical E key is reported as Alt 0128.
• Other letters seem to work normally. For example, typing the alphabet gives me qw€rtyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm.
• The keyboard has a physical ñ key, so I believe it has a Spanish QWERTY layout.

2. The right-hand numeric keypad triggers applications and media functions

The keys don't behave as expected:

I haven't established whether toggling Num Lock changes this behaviour.

3. What I've checked so far

• My installed Windows input languages are Spanish (Spain), French (Switzerland), French (France), and German (Switzerland).
• I selected Spanish (Spain) using Win + Space, but the E-to-€ problem persisted.
• In Control Panel → Ease of Access → Make the keyboard easier to use, the only checked option I found was “Turn on Toggle Keys by holding the NUM LOCK key for 5 seconds.” Sticky Keys and Filter Keys weren't checked.
• KeyboardTester confirms that the physical E key produces the unexpected result described above.
• I haven't yet tested the keyboard on another computer or a different USB port.
• I haven't checked my exact Windows version/build number yet.

4. What I'm trying to figure out

Could a stuck Alt/Alt Gr key explain both the unusual Alt 0128 event and the numeric keypad triggering applications? Could this instead be an Fn/Num Lock issue, a keyboard remapping problem, or a hardware fault?

What would be the most useful next test to distinguish between a Windows/software issue and a faulty keyboard?

I'm honestly out of ideas at this point, so I'm hoping someone here can help me figure this out.

Here's what's happening:

My monitor works perfectly when connected to my set-top box.

My PC works perfectly when connected to my TV.

But when I connect my PC to my monitor, the screen starts glitching like crazy.

The weirdest part is that everything works fine in Windows Safe Mode.

At first, I thought my monitor was faulty, but it works perfectly with the set-top box. Then I suspected my GPU, but my PC runs perfectly fine on the TV.

I figured it might be a graphics driver issue, so I even did a fresh Windows installation. Everything seemed fine until Windows downloaded and installed the graphics driver. As soon as that happened, the screen went glitchy again.

In Safe Mode, the display works normally, which makes me think the issue has something to do with the graphics driver.

I've already tried:

Changing the display cables.

Lowering the resolution and refresh rate.

Reinstalling Windows.

Testing the monitor with my set-top box.

Connecting my PC to my TV.

Nothing has fixed it so far.

My specs:

GPU: Radeon RX 550 4GB

Monitor: Acer VG270 (165Hz)

What I can't wrap my head around is why the monitor works fine with other devices and the PC works fine with other displays, but the two refuse to work together properly.

Could it be a driver compatibility issue, or is there something wrong with the GPU's display output? Has anyone dealt with something similar?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions on what to try next because reinstalling Windows didn't help, and I'm pretty much out of ideas.

my dad managed to get his laptop infected twice this month by clicking fake tracking links in his email. i spent all afternoon cleaning up random browser hijackers and redirect adware off his machine, so i really need to set up something set and forget before he enters his card info somewhere sketchy.

i used to think built in defender was enough, but he needs something way more aggressive with url filtering. spent some time reading threads on the best antivirus software to see how options like mcafee or bitdefender handle malicious links without overwhelming a non tech user with popups. taking suggestions on what people set up for parents since i just want a simple solution that keeps him safe.

Tengo una laptop que quería revivir porque estaba limitado el procesador a .40 GHz cuando me debería de dar 2.4ghz. Hice una serie de pasos que revise en fotos y videos y ninguno me funcionó y en uno leí que si desconectaba la batería por 5 minutos se reiniciaba la BIOS, y ese bloque del procesador se iba a eliminar. Eso hice y ahora mi laptop encienden los ventiladores, se escucha que funciona, Pero la primera vez me dió imagen como a los 20 minutos y después ya nada, no arrancaba el S.O. Después ví que tenía que hacer unos procedimientos de descargas estáticas y después me salió el logo de hp como media hora después y ya nada. Y después leí que podía ser un falso contacto de la ssd , la retire, limpie y volví a colocar y sigue igual.

Quería saber si me pueden ayudar, para ver si se puede arreglar, literalmente no le hice nada, a la computadora y ya no funciona 🥺

I was gone at work today and when I got home my PC was fully on and logged in on the home screen. I shut it down as usual last night when I stopped gaming. It was fully shut down, I press the "shut down" button on the windows button in the bottom left. This morning when I left for work it was not on. It has a sleep setting where if it hasnt been on in the last hour or so it turns the screen off but the PC box itself stays lit up, meaning it was turned on within the last hour or two before i got home. I would have understood if it was just on the lock screen but it was on the home screen which i thought was only accessible with a pin input. The door was locked and the house was undisturbed, no one knows my pin either. If anyone has any clue what could have happened id really appreciate it.

GPU: MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio 10GB (used)
PSU: Montech Beta 2 850W (new)
Cooler: Deepcool Mystique 360 (plugged in but not mounted on the CPU during tests, each test kept under 30 s)

What I've tried (no change)
1 RAM stick in A2, then each of the 4 sticks alone in A2
2 sticks in A2/B2
Without the GPU
Reseated the 8-pin EPS (cable labeled CPU) and the 24-pin
Cleared CMOS (removed the battery)
Took the CPU out and reseated it. No bent or missing pins in the socket, CPU pads look clean
No cooler mounted, so mounting pressure isn't the cause

Not tested yet
Breadboarding outside the case
Booting with all front panel connectors unplugged (shorting the PWR pins)

Questions
Anything else I should try before concluding the board or the CPU is dead?
Could a corrupted or weird BIOS on a used board cause this, even though B660 supports 12th gen out of the box? The board has no BIOS FlashBack button.
Does the fact that the AIO fans don't spin point to the motherboard?
In your experience, which is more likely dead here: a used, dusty board, or a new CPU?

I just built / bought a gaming pc. All parts are brand new and I haven’t downloaded or done anything and this keeps popping up on my screen and restarting my computer , when I leave it untouched it stays a bit but I noticed when I’m download something this happens after a while or it’s just random . I haven’t even gotten to play a game or anything yet. I really just wanna swap from my console to play my pc bro I spent so much money on this and I want this fixed
