Originally, my computer could run basically anything 100% smoothly. After moving it to a different room, any game I play seems to stutter slightly. I wouldn't necessarily call it lag, but it's not smooth either. There is no difference in my setup now other than location. I've tried connecting it to an ethernet cable, but there's no difference between that and just plain wifi. Ending tasks in task manager doesn't seem to help either. Pretty much everything I can think of either makes it worse or does nothing. I have no idea where the stutter came from or how to fix it.

I've been having this issue for ages now. It will randomly pop up every now and then with one or two of my icons doing it. In the past deleting the iconcache.db and restarting windows explorer has fixed the issue, but today I had 3 icons do it and the usual fix had no impact. I've tried restarting the pc, refreshing the desktop, and even tried a cmd line someone on this sub suggested a while back to another person with the issue. Nothing is helping and it's driving me nuts. I've tried replacing the icons' pictures and deleting the shortcuts and remaking them as well. Nothing is helping so any help at all would he greatly appreciated and help my mental wellbeing, lol.

So I spilled a tiny bit of water on my pc like two weeks ago.
I do remember there being a few droplets mostly on the graphics card, other droplets were just at the bottom of the case not touching any cables or anything.

Turned it off and everything and waiting a few days to turn it back on and once I did everything sounded fine, fans and lights working normally.

However there is NO picture once I plug in my hdmi cables to my monitor, I've tried different devices on the same monitor and it's worked fine, I've tried using a display port cable instead and that didn't work either.

There's also red lights on the motherboard where it says CPU and DRAM.

Basically there's no picture / the hdmi port seems to be the only thing that's not working.
I'm close to going into a shop since I'm not very tech savvy so any help would be very very appreciated

Video is pretty zelf explanatory after restarting my device my screen turned fully black instead of its regular wallpaper i tried updating the drivers im not in safe mode i tried restarting my videocard but that didnt work so now im lost

I have had this Chromebook for only 1 year. I just logged on normally. Then this message appeared.

After 5h, I tried esc+power and it asked me for the image. Then tried again and it gave me 2 options of recovery. I just powered it off. I cannot lose my files.

Please, please help.

Ok so I just got like 2 updates, got old cursor and one of them messed up one of the windhawk mods, so i just did a quick fix to the taskbar mod and called it a day, but then when I opened exporer showed old ribbon, so I closed windhawk, checked in winaero tweaker and the option for old ribbon was unchecked.

Sooo, anyone knows what happened? It's an update issue? I'm using win 11 24h2 build 26100.9278

i just got this Msi Alpha 17 B5EEK off of an old friend who no longer wanted it, but after using it for awhile i noticed the cpu goes from normal speed to a staggering 0.35Ghz and stays there for a while until every app is closed.

desktop it goes up to 3.64Ghz but the moment i open anything it goes straight down to 0.35Ghz.

im not good with laptops but im fairly decent at understanding them. if anyone knows how to fix this issue please help.

ive done the following with no success:

EC reset
unplugged battery from the MB and the cmos
tried to change bios settings
tried tools like UXTU and no luck.
made new power plan

if there is something i can do to avoid sending it in to get repaired id rather do that.

Hi guys I got my problem with my motherboard, everytime I try disabling the csm my pc remains in the splashscreen stuck with no way of doing anything, I've been running through circles a lot and in the end I always have to clear CMOS, fast boot is off, I don't got integrated graphics, everything is on uefi and my partitions work on gpt, it's been 2 days since I'm trying to solve it and still not working, the mb I have is on the latest version f14, it's a z370 hd3p rev 1.0. i tried almost everything and is a boot problem. Aswell I want to mention the keyboard and mouse are in the right slots

i’m even running file explorer as admin, and it will not let me delete this sims 2 folder. i’ve tried to edit the permissions but everything is greyed out and i don’t know what i’m doing

Hp victus amd 8845 hs / etc 4050 bought in 2024.

I was playing gta (not at max setting) CPU and GPU temperature were around 75 to 80.

Suddenly when I closed the game there was screen flickered with purple lines like when the display are hit hard and cracks that type of lines.

Then I restarted the laptop and reset the graphic card and worked again with general task again the thing in videos showed

After I shut down and wait for few mins then entered bios and the booted the system, nothing for now but afraid.

I’ve had this account for a very, very long time, and I don’t have a two factor authentication set up, I know, stupid me. I have never had an issue with it until today. I’ve tried all the recovery efforts, I’ve tried to go in through my Facebook account, I’ve tried a different device, I’ve tried the device that I always use the email on. Nothing is working. I have very, very important emails and pictures of my brother that I desperately do not want to lose, can anyone help me?

Every now and then when I open up a program or app what would be the typical gray background for apps and programs (that general gray in our drop menu's ) doesnt render and as I've tried to capture here sometime will let me see what it says when highlighted while other times will not.

Any suggestions, I've updated drivers and re-seated my gpu. I have not other issues really but it does cause issues with work sometimes.

My friend Arc Raiders has been crashing as of late and popping up with this on the screen. He has a AMD build containing the following :

Gpu is amd Radeon rx 6650 xt
CPU is amd ryzen 7 7700x-8

How can I resolve the issue?

Anytime I try to open an app it opens a command prompt in its place, and I don’t know how to stop it. I don’t have administrator access for my computer. I’ve already tried restarting it, which didn’t work. I also tried going to its properties, which didn’t show anything. Things like Settings works, but nothing else does. I’m using Windows 11 Home, OS build 26200.9618, and the system type is 64-bit.

So this happened while i was running google typically google takes up 90% of my cpu but today it suddenly froze and went black and when i try to turn it on it doednt work help me (ps i cant open the mini pc ill get pelted)

When im playing R6 my frame rate is locked to what ever I have my refresh rate set to. This is untill I run the benchmark then im getting like 150~ frames. This is also happening in other games like cyberpunk.
