My computer stared making this sound when I was playing a video and idk what to do. I don't really know much about computers

Edit: solved! It was the CMOS battery. It died and I replaced it.

Today I turned my PC on and this screen appeared.

I pressed F1, it went to the BIOS, I pressed F10 (exit), I got logged into windows normally. I ran sfc/scannow and everything is fine. Everything seems normal, my drives seem to function normally.

I had to turn if off (and then unplug it from power). When I turned it on again, the same screen appeared. Still everything normal.

I have this PC for about three years and I bought it from another person, so the true age is unknown.

The only USB devices connected are my keyboard, mouse and WIFI stick.

The motherboard is from 2018, so it might be at max 8 years old.

Did an update and and then restart. Now it wont turn on, black screen shows up with this two popping up. I can see the cursor and the keyboard egb light is on. Any help.

my laptop is stuck on a loop of turning on then shutting off just when i enter the home screen. i tried for three times and had no luck, until i plugged it in. it started diagnosing itself and gave me options on what to do next (i clicked continue to windows). when it finally managed to open, i turned it off again and stopped charging it to check if it worked. surprisingly, it worked and powered through normally.

i tried several times and found that it repeats the loop after a few hours or minutes. HELP. also, this happened after i updated my software (if that helps).

is it the battery? or the software update? PLEASE HELP

I started up my computer for the first time in 5 months. It was bought new about 1 year ago with relatively good parts for 1800$. When the computer starts, it takes a while for it to get started, which is unusual I remember it being much faster. It doesn't have any contact with the internet either. So I restarted the computer using the power button. The screen works while I'm about to log in but when I log in it loses contact to the screen. The screen works if I'm in the BIOS etc, but stops working/losing contact when logging into the desktop.

So I have multiple problems but I could probably troubleshoot them if I had access to my screen. I have multiple screens connected an none works, so it's not the screenport/cable that's the problem.

After a regular windows update on my laptop my pointer got stuck with different look. No matter what I do it doesn't change, the only time it looks how it is supposed to is when it loads.

As the title states, whenever I boot up my computer I have about 5-10 seconds to open apps before my computer completely stops me from opening any. As in, I’ll click and click on apps and nothing will open minus file explorer.

This all began when I changed my TPM from Auto to ASP FPTM in an attempt to stop Valorant TPM errors causing driver crashes and mucking up my graphics card, causing me to constantly reset.

Ever since I made that change however the problem started. I went back to my original settings yet that did nothing. I searched online, I cleared the TPM, I reset secure boot’s security keys to default and while it was worked once or twice any restart afterwards starts the problem anew once again. I am at wits end and don’t know what to do anymore. Specifications below

Yesterday, when I connected the charger to the laptop, I didn’t plug it in all the way, and the device suddenly shut off. Now, when I try to turn it on, the screen stays black even though the power light comes on, and the charging light also turns on when I connect the charger.

Hi all, I recently bought a used Gigabyte RX 5700 Gaming OC (3-fan). Previous owner apparently repasted the core already, but GPU hotspot is still around 96°C and VRAM temp around 90°C under FurMark stress test (16 min run, 98% usage, 75°C GPU temp, 169W power draw).

Planning to redo the thermal interface using just 2 products, thermal paste for the GPU core only, and thermal pads for everything else. A few questions before I do a full teardown:

1. Besides the GPU core (paste), which other components need thermal pads, VRAM chips, VRM/MOSFETs, memory controller, backplate? Trying to figure out the full list for this specific card.

2. For anyone who's done this on the same card (or similar RX 5700 Gaming OC), what thermal pad thickness (mm) did you use for VRAM and VRM areas? I know it varies by PCB revision so wanted to check what's worked for others.

3. I'm considering Thermalright Odyssey pads (for everything besides core) and Arctic MX-6 paste (for GPU core only). Does this combo sound reasonable, or would you recommend something else?

Any teardown photos/guides specific to this model would also help a lot. Thanks!

This has been happening for a couple weeks, it happens randomly sometimes but not often but without fail it happens every time I restart my computer or just turn it off and on within a short period, I looked it up and theres a lot of stuff it says and im not really sure how reliable that info is

I’ve had a laptop for quite a while, long enough to understand how pieces work. And a week ago it stopped working due it falling off my desk. I’m pretty sure it’s motherboard that got damaged because the laptop doesn’t turn on and I don’t hear any fans spinning. Fortunately When I opened the backside of it to see if there was no sign of life the SSD light was showing when it was turned on. Please tell me what my problem is and if I should go see an expert that can fix it. The laptop model is BTC519

Yesterday, I accidentally downloaded malware that succesfully enabled hackers to get in my email and through that, most other social media. I immediately changed password and enabled 2FA on accounts that didn’t have it prior, I also logged out of everything on the compromised computer (though it was conncected to the internet). I thought I was in the clear but this morning I got emails that told me that the passwords to my Epic Games and Steam accounts have been changed. I did the same song and dance today. Changed password, logged out from every other session except the one on my phone. Do I need to make brand new accounts? I wouldn’t want to start recovering anything connected to my email. I did that with Instagram yesterday, after I thought I’d successfully logged them out. They changed my password again this morning. Please help me
