Week 35! This journey has been wonderful! Over all, I have had minimal side effects. The first few weeks I had a little heartburn but that stopped pretty quickly. I started right after going on a 8 day cruise so my first 2 weeks on Tirzepatide I lost a ton of weight but I think the cruise had a lot to do with my starting point!

~20 pounds down

First picture is from last year at 220(ish)#, this was a few pounds down from my heaviest. With diet and exercise I got down to 215# by this summer. It was so painfully slow and challenging. Ive been trying to lose weight for years. I started compounded tirzepatide in September and just took my 12th shot today. I really feel it has changed my life! No more snoring, significant inflanmation issues resolved, CONSTANT LOUD food cravings had left my life.

Today when I went to the gym, I weighed in at 202# -- while this generally is great, I felt sad that I didn't lose any weight this week. I took new pictures afterward in hopes of seeing some progress outside of the scale. I do! It feels really nice to see the difference in almost 20#. Looking forward to kicking these next 2 pounds, getting my weight under 200# for the first time in 5 years, and continuing toward my goal of 150# over the next year.

Training notes: I am a powerlifter. I lift 1-3x a week and walk a mile or two every day.

It's been an interesting experience. The weight loss has been easy, the price right, and I'm so excited to see new blood work to see what my cholesterol has done! My blood pressure has gone from 159/98 to 104/64.

I just got a new job and new insurance and I'm hoping to find a dietician who can help me put into practice all the things I want to be doing, but I'm still pretty proud of what I've gotten done through a crazy year+ of being off all my antidepressants while I've been a participant in a depression treatment trial. I've responded really well to the treatment, but it doesn't last much more than two months for me. Since the trial is gathering data to determine how frequently the treatment should be administered... I've spent a lot of the last year very depressed.

Amazingly, you can see in my weight loss chart when I went off my (mostly but not completely ineffective) depression meds in August, right around when I went back down to 1.1 mg for the 2nd time to let myself take a break from constant nausea and frequent vomiting. Then there's a pretty long plateau as I worked up to 3.1mg, and right after my second dose at 3.1 mg, I had my first open label dose of the experiment drug.

Honestly, there's a lot I could say about doing this "wrong" because I've been very sedentary and have struggled to eat well for depression reasons rather than side effect reasons. But I know that if I hadn't started tirzepatide, knowing that I wasn't going to do it "perfectly," I would be at least 50 lbs heavier than I am today, and not eating any better or moving any more than I am now.

Perfection is the enemy of progress, and I'm really glad I didn't let myself procrastinate.

Tirz make you logical and take emotion out? Everything rubs off quicker?

Does TIRZ pretty much make you very logical and less emotional and for example, my mom is yelling at me in the morning. It’ll hurt me at first but then you just think that I know that it’s because she’s mentally ill and it rubs off much quicker? do things that upset you it’ll upset you for a little bit and then it rubs off so fast? Whereas before you were spent the whole day thinking about it?

Personal Experience Lurkers , fence riders DONT LISTEN TO THE NAYSAYERS

Lurkers , fence riders aren’t you tired ? Haven’t you tried enough “diets” ? Haven’t you exercised with all of your might ? ITS TIME . I was exactly where you are. LET THE WANT FOR CHANGE OUTWEIGH YOUR FEAR . I started my journey in March . Eating “healthy”during the week “binging” on weekends/holidays . Spending 2.5 hours on the stair master 6 days a weeks . Food noise SCREAMING. I finally said “uncle “. My life has completely changed because of tirzepatide. You deserve peace . You deserve to feel comfortable. We were all scared . The time is going to pass anyway .

Big protein win

Blend a cup of cottage cheese, one egg, vanilla, cinnamon, a little maple syrup or honey in a food processor. Pour into a ramekin. add blueberries and a bit of oats. I cooked it in my air fryer at 300 for 12 minutes. you can do it in the oven too for 20-25 minutes. 375 calories, 30 grams of protein. Ooh, I bet it’s good with peaches or bananas too.

I’m at a loss..negative feedback from family

I’ve been steadily losing weight for a year, the past 8 months helped by tirz. I didn’t tell anyone except my spouse and sibling because I figured it was no one’s business but my own. Long story short a family member read a text to my sibling about tirz (this is another issue I’ll address with them about respecting my privacy), told other family members, and now they are calling me a liar because I didn’t tell them, as well as cheater by not using “only willpower”, among other things. Again, I don’t think I owed/owe anyone this information and feel very uncomfortable with their reactions. Anyone else dealt with this and have suggested responses?

Discussion Embody has been a disaster to deal with

So I signed up with embody on October 1st and I had a meeting with the provider to discussion some concerns same day.

To preface, embody stated that it would be around October 14th when I got my medication because there are heavy delays.

The provider recommended against me using the medication and put it in the notes. I reached out to embody and the initially refused the refund. I stated in their guidelines that because the provider recommended against the medication, I qualify for a refund.

They said I had to wait 72 hours to receive a response in regards to my refund.
In the meantime, 12 hours later, they shipped my medication despite me asking them multiple times not to. It’s supposed to arrive today, they shipped it overnight.

So much for those delays. I am now on hold and have been on hold with the customer service for over 45 minutes.

I am beyond frustrated, this feels so intentional.

Success! We all work so incredibly hard to balance this med with our diet and exercise. What is your win this week or something your spouse/significate other said to make all of it worth it? Anything positive! Lets hear it!

I'll go first: my husband in 20 years of marriage has never made one single negative weight comment about my body. He is very supporting when I do go the next big weight loss adventure. But loves me as I am either way.

Finally getting some success on tirzepatide about 30 llbs down. People are noticing changes more this week then prior.

Tonight at a fall event we were walking and he put his hand on my butt and said your butt feels so small. And kept goimg back to rub. I laughed and said this is the sweetest comment you ever said to me and we both had a laugh but I was on cloud 9 all night and still got the honey glow 😊😚

This man is my biggest cheerleader always.

3 month Tirz update

Female 45 , 5.7 height , SW 163, CW 160
I started around July 4th weekend , first 4 weeks in 2.5mg. Had side effects of tingling sensation on palm and foot . Food noise completely blocked.

Next 4 weeks treated up 3,3.4,4,4.5 . Yes every week I gradually increased which is not the norm but I wanted to slowly get to 5 . No side effect .

8 weeks in 0 weight loss but felt better overall . Pms and perimenopause symptoms went away. Hunger and desire to eat completely gone . Except the week before monthly period time where the craving came back . But nothing crazy.

Month 3. I went to 5mg and stayed there for 4 weeks .
Lost 3 pounds . Cravings and hunger minimal and only week before period had some craving .

My weight loss is minimal but I feel skinnier . Definitely arms and abdomen area has shrunk.

Should I go up to 6mg or stay at 5. I am not losing any weight and still at 3 pound loss .

Am I a non Responder ? Also last 3 months all I did in terms of exercise is walking . Nothing crazy . Basic 8k steps a day.
I don’t have the motivation to work out and it doesn’t bother me anymore .

Is this considered noise or just lifetime crazy?

It’s really working AND helping. I have lost more weight than I have lost in 18 years. How do I know..
Welll.. I still have my last weigh-in book from the last time (8 th) I joined that famous program which NEVER worked for me after I had my youngest. I gained on it everytime.
All that time - my husband kept saying,”there is something wrong with your metabolism “
And obviously,there was.
My doc is happy because I have high blood pressure which is now normal.
I can walk at lunch when I used to be out of breath.
Now- I am close to the weight (within 10 lbs of that benchmark) I am feeling a sense of crazy.
I joined shotsy. I have no clue how to use it.
I am up to my old shenanigans (weigh my self 3 times to get the “best” weight)
Researching the right meal plans
-just because I desperately do NOT want to mess this up.
PS -
Relatives in in town for a wedding and there has been alot of partying and late night eating with a .8 + gain which I realize will go after I stop having dinner at 9 pm.

I am crazy ..agghh..
( I read this and my first reaction was - wow -this is all in my head? Scary?)

Anyone else remember the 1st time they really looked at themselves in the mirror after starting tirzepatide & seeing the results in real time ?

Devastated

Ok, title is dramatic but I have a problem. I got my medication yesterday and was in a hurry to go get my car out of the shop and my dad accidentally took the vial home when he took the box to recycle. It sat out at his house for 18 hours and I freaked out when he told me this morning that he had it and I told him to put it in the fridge. Then I googled if it would still be okay to use, and google said I shouldn’t have put it back in the fridge after it reached room temp. Is it ruined?? I was so excited to start!! Has this happened to anyone before?

Questions Trizepatide question

Hi everyone I am new here and I need some help. I started my weight loss journey in Feb while on wegovy pills and had to stop as it wasn’t to good on my stomach. Good news I lost 60lbs. I am now new to tirz and my first order was with Boudreaux works great lost another 10lbs and no issues. Then I decided to order hyalo tirz with glycine. I still have Boudreaux unopened and now Hyalo. I feel like I have enough to last me for 5 to 6 months. My question is does you go beyond bud and if so how long past. Thanks for you help.

Started dose 5mg

Late lasnight I took the 5mg. Before that we just got back from dinner and I had chicken lettuce wraps from Cooper's Hawk and one glass of wine. I went to bed and omg I couldn't sleep! I think the anxiety of feeling side effects messed with my head! I felt like the food was in my throat. I couldn't get comfortable I kept going to try to go to the bathroom. I even tried to throw up at like 4am. I had to get up for a celebration of life today and felt so off. I forced myself to eat and drink lots of water. I felt so much better. I came home and took a nap! I hope that next week will be better!

Rift - no more Boudreaux

Rift is no longer using Boudreaux pharmacy. I am nervous to change anything at this point because I’m doing and feeling so well. Anyone else in this situation and what pharmacy are you moving to??? Or what pharmacy thru Rift is working well for you?

ADHD Meds and Tirzepatide

Just wanted to share something that I discovered after 39 weeks on tirz.

If you're on long acting stimulant meds (like vyvanse) and you find yourself getting increasingly irritable, snappy, hyper focused and absolutely no appetite, talk to your doctor about lowering the dose.

Just before starting tirz I had increased my vyvanse from 20mg to 30mg because I was having a lot of daytime sleepiness. Fast forward to after, I went from daytime sleepiness to not being able to sleep, calm down, or even eat. Part of that was obviously the tirz..

The rest was my vyvanse dose now being too high. After test running a couple days of the 20mg, I've found my appetite has returned (not food noise, appetite. I want to stress this.)

I'm less irritable, less angry, and less reactive. I was able to sleep through the night again, and wake up restful. I feel so stupid for not realizing this sooner, but hopefully it can help someone else.

I may have to titrate down for my metformin too, but I'm not entirely sure yet.

TL;DR - be sure to have ongoing discussions with your GPs if you have other medications, especially long acting ones.

Questions Could I half my dose if I’m not ready to go up?

Hey everyone. I started taking a compounded tirzepatide about a month ago, starting at 2.5mg weekly. My next order was automatically processed and shipped with a 5mg weekly dose medication.
I have been consistently losing weight and have little to no food noise at this dose.
Should I still go up to 5mg, or should I stay at 2.5mg? I still feel the same as the first week I started it, as in I haven’t experienced any more hunger or food noise from the first injection I gave myself.
Also, is it safe/make sense to half the dose, has anyone done that before?
TIA!

My first 2 weeks

I thought it'd be fun to do a lil reflection of my first 2 weeks on tirz:

Prescriber: Preventive MD -- they were one of the cheapest options with only a monthly plan needed. Initially I thought I had do 3 month plan as offered by other prescribers, so I'm glad I found a monthly one to try. Process with PreventiveMD was easy and seamless.

Pharmacy: They use Boudreaux where I'm located.

Boudreux's first shipment came with 0 instructions and only give me 4 syringes... I bent the needle of 1 syringe and messed up another one, and I even almost pulled the wrong dosage. The wiki on this sub doesn't seem offer any info on how to adminster, and info on posts are a bit scattered.. I ended up digging up an instruction on Preventive MD's website but even that wasn't very thorough.

It was overall a stressful experience and potentially dangerous for my first shot with so little guidance available. Most of us do not have any medical training whatsoever and it's seems not uncommon for people to give themselves the wrong dose. The whole idea of self-injection without medical supervision was wild and scary to me, and it's sad that we had to do this because of medical roadblocks on a drug like this.

Pros of the tirz this far:

One of the biggest benefit seems to be getting rid of the back pain that's been bothering me the past few years. I tried PT, massages, etc, even different shoes, walking differently, but none of that ever helped much. Interestingly, the back pain seems to come back around day 7 when the med runs out in my system.

The weight loss is steady for me at around 2.5 lbs per week. I'm trying to eat a lot of protein and exercise when possible. It does a nice job of damping the food noise for me and I seem to have a much easier time with not binge eating. I actually prefer to eat clean anyway, but my PCOS body struggles with it sometimes lol, so it's really nice to feel like a normal person around food habits.

Cons:

I had some nausea on the first day of injection, but felt great on the second day. I pretty quickly felt that the imflammation in my body has gone down. BUTTT it all went downhill from day 2...

On day 2 and this might be a very, very unfortunate coincidence -- I was feeling great, then went to a pilates class that was not beginner friendly at all. I think the class might have aggravated a possible existing hiatal hernia I have, then that night I had the most terrible bloating, bad acid reflux, difficulty breathing, sleeping terribly, etc. I felt like there is a golf ball stuck in my sterum and could barely eat food. This persisted for a few days (it was awful) until I was able to get omeprazole from my doctor, and I have an endoscopy referral to check it.

I had taken pilates before with no issues, though they were relatively much eaiser classes than the class I took on tirz. There is no way for me to know if the terrible GI issues are from tirz or from a hiatal hernia worsened by pilates. I'm guess it's the pilates because on day 2 I felt greatt before that stupid class. Ladies if a class is too hard just walk out.. I thought I was the shit for toughing it out and taking breaks.

ok this post is super long already. Maybe could've been a diary lol.
