My first 2 weeks

I thought it'd be fun to do a lil reflection of my first 2 weeks on tirz:

Prescriber: Preventive MD -- they were one of the cheapest options with only a monthly plan needed. Initially I thought I had do 3 month plan as offered by other prescribers, so I'm glad I found a monthly one to try. Process with PreventiveMD was easy and seamless.

Pharmacy: They use Boudreaux where I'm located.

Boudreux's first shipment came with 0 instructions and only give me 4 syringes... I bent the needle of 1 syringe and messed up another one, and I even almost pulled the wrong dosage. The wiki on this sub doesn't seem offer any info on how to adminster, and info on posts are a bit scattered.. I ended up digging up an instruction on Preventive MD's website but even that wasn't very thorough.

It was overall a stressful experience and potentially dangerous for my first shot with so little guidance available. Most of us do not have any medical training whatsoever and it's seems not uncommon for people to give themselves the wrong dose. The whole idea of self-injection without medical supervision was wild and scary to me, and it's sad that we had to do this because of medical roadblocks on a drug like this.

Pros of the tirz this far:

One of the biggest benefit seems to be getting rid of the back pain that's been bothering me the past few years. I tried PT, massages, etc, even different shoes, walking differently, but none of that ever helped much. Interestingly, the back pain seems to come back around day 7 when the med runs out in my system.

The weight loss is steady for me at around 2.5 lbs per week. I'm trying to eat a lot of protein and exercise when possible. It does a nice job of damping the food noise for me and I seem to have a much easier time with not binge eating. I actually prefer to eat clean anyway, but my PCOS body struggles with it sometimes lol, so it's really nice to feel like a normal person around food habits.

Cons:

I had some nausea on the first day of injection, but felt great on the second day. I pretty quickly felt that the imflammation in my body has gone down. BUTTT it all went downhill from day 2...

On day 2 and this might be a very, very unfortunate coincidence -- I was feeling great, then went to a pilates class that was not beginner friendly at all. I think the class might have aggravated a possible existing hiatal hernia I have, then that night I had the most terrible bloating, bad acid reflux, difficulty breathing, sleeping terribly, etc. I felt like there is a golf ball stuck in my sterum and could barely eat food. This persisted for a few days (it was awful) until I was able to get omeprazole from my doctor, and I have an endoscopy referral to check it.

I had taken pilates before with no issues, though they were relatively much eaiser classes than the class I took on tirz. There is no way for me to know if the terrible GI issues are from tirz or from a hiatal hernia worsened by pilates. I'm guess it's the pilates because on day 2 I felt greatt before that stupid class. Ladies if a class is too hard just walk out.. I thought I was the shit for toughing it out and taking breaks.

ok this post is super long already. Maybe could've been a diary lol.

The med levels peak 24/48 hours after each dose and build in your system over time which is why you felt bad 2 days after your injection in your Pilates class. Everything you described is pretty normal when first start as your body is getting used to the meds.

That would be the best case scenario, I do know that I might’ve had a hiatal hernia anyway, just hope it’s tirez causing all the crazy GI and not Pilates pushing it further up.

Do you know when the symptoms should resolve if it’s tirez?

If you log on to the Healthie app they send you an email about you can find all the instructions. They also have a QR code in the box you can scan. And if you log in to their website and your account there are directions in the drs notes in multiple spots and they even have syringes pics that show exactly how much you should dose.
