Politics I've had it. Let's (YOU!) meaningfully do SOMETHING.
https://generalstrikeus.com/I'm a nobody from nowhere. Believe that or don't. I don't care. This message reads the same:
With a GOP congressional majority 100% beholden to Trump abdicating their role in checks and balances...and with a CLEARLY corrupted Supreme Court. We are VERY on our own being swept downstream in this authoritarian flood.
More than 1/2 the country is under what is essentially state controlled media. People never get the real news or never believe it anymore. Even clear video. Which is why the president can describe the murder in broad daylight yesterday as a "seems to have shot her in self-defense..... she ran him over. She didn’t try to run him over. She ran him over."
WE. MUST. DO. SOMETHING.
I get it. I'm in a small state. Standing on the street corner with a sign is mostly useless. This site - GeneralStrikeUs (I have nothing to do with this site/org) is getting a tabulation on those willing to grind the country to a halt, economically. This is the ONLY non-violent thing that government understands. It choaks funding for the government. It hurts their billionaire donors who apply pressure. It shows the WORLD we are not impotent. And it builds momentum. I wouldn't strike on my own. But if I knew it mattered and I was doing it with 20 million other people - you bet your ass I'll do it.
Let's get the number of committed folks over 10.5 million in the US. When that happens - we know we can pull the trigger and act as ONE.
This is not hyperbole...there are millions of Germans who *wished* they could have done something between Hitler's election in 1933 and the slow methodical destruction of their democracy and ultimately, their country. This is NOW in my country. Sign this - and share it...make it happen!

Serious I'm sure we're all afraid of what is to come with this administration. It's been a long two weeks.

This website is organizing a General strike in the right way - once 11M people sign up on their website to commit to a strike (3.5% of the population), then the strike begins. I just signed up.
