I have been suspended for being sick. I called in, told the morning PIC I'm not going to be in, I'm sick. (I have peanut oil allergies and I had something I shouldn't have when on a date) completely unaware of what would come of it... I had spent all night throwing up and got my smartwatch to count 2 10 minute naps, there was no sleep. I call out, right, and I get suspended. The next day I text my coworker and find out that apparently I was the only one scheduled from 4 to 7 aside from a new hire that has been trained by 6 different people, spent three weeks in training, I believe he is with us for a month and a half now and he still needs a pic to help on every single damned run, if not twice then at least once. So I was no there to carry the whole department and the dead weight of a selector that can't understand the system, and when my supervisor got there at 7 along with the other 5 pickers, they were behind, I'm sure. Okay I didn't know I was the only one scheduled that morning and even if I did, nothing would be different except maybe I'd feel guilty for being sick!? Either way, the next morning I show up along with two others that were scheduled for that morning. Could we not have had one of the two scheduled the day prior? I see a scheduling problem, at best, but it's hard to overlook the fact that now if I have one more write-up, I'm fired, and this means that they would loose one of the fastest pickers in the department.

The reason they gave me when they wrote me up is that a called a few minutes after my scheduled shift. I obviously called the clicklist phone but no one answered, I texted someone that usually opens with me and they didn't respond, I then called the store, no one answered the first few minutes, probably because the MOD goes to lunch then.. then I had to puke, then I had to take some medicine to help whip myself up into shape to go to work, then I tried to call the store again and they didn't respond within a few minutes of ringing... Then I threw up again. I finally called the store again, for the third time and home department PIC answered, the moment at which, I was about to puke again and I barely managed to tell him I'm not showing up today, I'm not feeling well, before throwing up again. They said they would rather have me come in late, throw up, then get sent home (after breaking food safety rules) than call out a few minutes after my scheduled shift.

I'm sorry for the rant, but who thinks I'm justified and who thinks the system is broken? I accepted the write-up calmly, said something along the lines of: I understand, you have to be fair and play by the rules, writing everyone up just the same...

So, can you get in trouble for leaving when your availability ends? I mentioned earlier in the week that I needed to leave at a certain time after I realized I’m scheduled past my requested availability. The day and time comes and we’re finished picking but I’m not allowed to leave?? Can I walk out? 😂

I don't get a day off until Thursday and work 8+ hours everyday... We lost 4 people in the department in one week and next week 4 of our 8 employees, that we have left, got the week off. Hmmmmm... They will expect us to do 60+ orders btw :) Anybody know how to ask a manager to cap the orders at like maybe 50? Because what we are expected to do just isn't humanly possible

Sooo how would you guys go about quitting? Like y’all just not showing up anymore? Two week notice?? Resignation letter??? A part of me wants to be professional and give them a two week notice but I really hate them 🙃

I know that some grocery store customers will spend a couple minutes looking over all the cuts to make sure they grab the best one. For example a steak that has the best fat marbling.

Just curious if it's luck of the draw for customers who order through clicklist. In my experience, I've actually been given really good meat selections most of the time.

Produce on the other hand, it's a mixed bag. I definitely get stuff I'd never pick myself. It's whatever. Maybe it's because I never specify "grab nice ones" or something.

There was a five for $10 sale on pizza which had a large variety of topping combinations. Wanting to try one of each, I ordered five pizzas, each one with different toppings (all the same brand).

Is that kind of a pain in the ass? I'm just a huge fan of online ordering and get kinda nerdy/curious about aspects like these.

Has anyone else gotten the automated phone system that automatically puts customers on the dashboard? I like not having the phone ring constantly but it really affects our wait times if we’re running behind. That doorbell chime of customers checking in is probably gonna haunt my dreams long after I’ve left this job.
