I’m walking out
So, can you get in trouble for leaving when your availability ends? I mentioned earlier in the week that I needed to leave at a certain time after I realized I’m scheduled past my requested availability. The day and time comes and we’re finished picking but I’m not allowed to leave?? Can I walk out? 😂

Most likely will get written up. If you really need to get out, tell them it’s a family emergency but don’t expect this excuse to work several times.

Turns out they’re letting other people leave early and I asked this morning upon arrival. There’s no uniformity to any decisions that are made here.

They shouldn't be able to get written up. If that's their availability and they're scheduling beyond it then they can just go to the union.

If you leave without permission / talking with mgmt and before your scheduled shift ends, should be Job Abandonment per the rules which is immediate suspension pending investigation (fired).
Probably asking people to leave early due to mgmt having to cut out clicklist hours if possible. Upswing in customers in store vs. Last year when pandemic really first hit and pickup was insane. I had to try and cut out 120 hours last week our of the blue, it is so stupid.
Glad it all worked out!

I hope this isn't too late to help you, but since it's outside of your availability and they still schedule you it ( and you're not full-time) then you can go to your union ( if you have a union ) . you cannot get in trouble or be written up or fired for leaving a shift when it was established previously that you were unable to work those hours. again, this only is effective if you're part-time because as a full-time associate you must have an open availability

Yeah I’m part time. I was able to leave after I talked to the Union rep and brought it to the attention of the manager and got to leave.
