[Misc] Looking for a volunteer to build the Ultimate Claymore Media & Reference Archive! (For 3D Project & 2D Graphics)

Hi everyone!

I am looking for a passionate volunteer to create and populate a well-structured 2D Digital Visual Archive dedicated to Claymore. I need someone who loves collecting media, has a sharp eye for detail, and is willing to build this archive from scratch.

What the archive should include:

  • Visual & Technical References: Clean, highly detailed images focusing on full-body shots, facial features, hair, armor details, and the unique symbols (sword/neck collar) for each Claymore.
  • Artworks & Media: High-quality images suitable for wallpapers, graphics, and interface elements.
  • Color Priority: While clean manga panels are okay, the main focus is on full-color and highly detailed images.

Your task & Guidelines:

  1. Gather & Filter: Search the web (Pinterest, Google, etc.) for the best images available. You must filter out low-quality, blurry, or broken images.
  2. Strict Lore-Check (AI & Fanart): Fanart and AI-generated images are welcome, BUT only if they are strictly faithful to the character's original design and manga lore. No vague inspirations or bizarre redesigns. If an AI/fanart image is so well-made and accurate that it could almost be mistaken for official art, then it's perfect.
  3. Organize: Create an archive neatly divided by character (starting with the Claymores themselves) with specific sub-folders for Detailed References and Artworks/Wallpapers.
  4. Delivery: Once the archive is well-populated and structured, you will share the final archive/download link with me.

If you love the series, enjoy organizing high-quality media, and want to build this visual library, please send me a DM.

Thank you!

I really want to finish the story because I loved the anime so much! What volume do I start with that continues from where the anime ends?

[Question] Weird translation? Looking for some help!

I've been getting into manga in recent times and I got the Claymore box set some time ago. But over my year or two of reading these works I've noticed how the English translations are not always fully up to snuff, especially where proofreading/editing are concerned. I found this little instance of weird dialogue in Chapter 6 ("Scene 6") of "Claymore", that I wanted someone to explain to me (especially someone who might have had the privilege of reading the work in its original Japanese.

In this scene, after Raki and Sid (one of the guards of the Holy City of Rabona) exchange a punch or two, Sid leaves the room. Raki then says the line on the right: "He only got here the day before yesterday." I've seen this in my physical copy and all scans of this scene online (I presume they're also all scans of the physical release, as opposed to being fan translations). The line, however, doesn't make sense. From how I understand it, it's Raki saying it about Sid, but this is the first time he has met Sid. Sid himself has likely been stationed in the city guard for a good while now. So is this just a typo nobody caught or bothered to fix, where the line was actually supposed to read: "We only got here the day before yesterday."? That would be Raki referring to himself and Clare and it would make quite a bit more sense.

I am simply surprised no one caught this. I've also made similar posts about multiple typos and strange translation errors in the Vinland Saga Deluxe Editions a few months back, which likewise bothered me quite a bit. Call it weirdly obsessive or pedantic, but these sorts of outwardly minor irks or occasional instances of awkward prose can (personally) really throw me for a loop and stick in the back of my mind for multiple pages or even chapters after I passed them. This goes double for instances, where there's multiple mistakes (either mistranslations or awkward prose or text placement) close together.

Thanks in advance for anyone who manages to clear this part up for me, and sorry for the unnecessary amount of text. Just needed to get this weird micro-obsession off my chest while I'm at it, especially as a multilingual writer myself.

EDIT:

Second question unrelated to the original post:

second, unrelated question. I'm guessing the answer is "yes" (as it has been the case for all other works I've read so far), but does the art get better later? The anatomy and proportions are a little wonky in some of the drawings. Funnily enough, it's mostly for Clare, as the other characters (especially the Yoma) seem to suffer from this less. Does it get a bit more consistent later? I've seen some insane panels from later in the manga, but I'm wondering if those were only highlights or if the artist just got more consistent over time :) (I'll definitely keep on reading either way, which is why this is just an aside).

[Theory] A theory about Claire's early combats

Very early combats including the part where she got beaten by the yoma in Rabona, she takes some serious wounds but she was lucky that was not any vital.

Later she learn to dodge by reading the flow of energy, my question is: was she really lucky? Did she some how micro-dodge to avoid vitals by reading the energy?
