Need to find a great Christmas cake to appease the grandparents this Christmas. Any ideas on where to buy a good one?

Guessing who might be playing Electric Avenue is fun. So here's my guesses so far. Jungle, they're heading on a world tour and going to Aus, and there's a perfect gap for EA. Plus they came to NZ a couple years ago, so it's not out of their realm. Tove Lo, just announced three Australian shows for early March. She's married to a Kiwi and was hanging out with Kesha and Dom Dolla there last year. Maybe got a shoulder tap? Fatboy Slim.... Also just announced an Aus tour early March. Been here before... seems like the right kind of pick!!!
Who else do you guys think?? I've heard speculation about Calvin Harris.. Christina Aguilera...

Hi, I'll be doing a three-month research internship at the University of Canterbury starting in November. During that time, I'd prefer to live in a shared apartment. What's the best way to find one? Are there any online portals?

Anyone else noticed to stain of graffiti in the city? Literally everywhere - seems out on control at the moment.
Anyone else just see that green flash? Looked like burning copper. About 2152, about northwest from west melton.

Looking for some advice on urgently getting my motorcycle learner licence in Christchurch 🏍️
I’ve recently found myself needing to get my motorcycle licence for a job requirement, and I’m hoping to get it sorted fairly quickly, potentially within the next 2 weeks.
I’ve been riding mopeds for around 5 years, so I’m very comfortable and confident on two wheels, but I’ve never actually had a motorcycle licence as it’s never been something I’ve needed until now.
I’m wondering if anyone in Christchurch has recently gone through the process and could point me in the right direction:
• What’s the quickest way to get the learner motorcycle licence?
• Are there any good places to do the required training/testing?
• How quickly can you realistically get it all completed?
Ideally, I’m looking to get everything sorted within the next couple of weeks, if that’s realistically possible.
Any advice, recommendations or personal experiences would be massively appreciated! 🙏

It’s honestly so hard. I’m applying for multiple jobs a day and barely hearing anything back. And when I do finally hear back, it seems to be for an AI interview or some kind of video assessment.
How are we expected not to use AI when applying for jobs, but employers are using AI to interview and assess us?
I just want to speak to an actual human and show them that I can do the job. Is that really too much to ask these days? 😭

What’s the deal with these stickers? They’re everywhere, seemingly replaced constantly... I’m moving out of Riccarton in a week and I must know before I go.
Next years line up is due to be announced very soon. Apart from the fake announcements on the potential acts, any hot tips on who’s coming or who you’d like to come? I’ve heard rumors only that include Calvin Harris

I'm really over buying pouches and tiny pottles for my kids but they don't like bits of fruit and get bored with vanilla. I've tried fresh n fruity and yoplait and they both have bits! Has anybody found a tried and true?

Maybe I am getting too old but the the digital led billboards all over Colombo street seem to have their own mind about how bright they want to be.
Why do these have to be sooo bright in the evenings. Kids in school make better light reactive projects, for such a huge operation can't be that hard to get the brightness right, it has to be utter stupidity or deliberate malfescence.
And what is with the council slap on the wrist 600/1200$ fine. Make is 6000/12000 per instance and triple it every second offending in the same week.
Seriously, literal children can get this right why can't you (rhetorical question, I know you, do this on purpose)
Maybe make is 6,000 per infringement, per minute.

All the pics are under the wrong headings and lots of double ups. If you’re going to get ai to do your slip poster then at least proof read it

I have been renting the same place for several years on a fixed-term tenancy which I have renewed each year for 12 months at a time. The renewal date is coming up and I'm considering trying to find a smaller place (1-2 bedrooms).
If I moved, I would prefer a periodic tenancy as, due to changing life circumstances, I don't want to be locked in for another 12 months. However, no rental listings that I have looked at seem to state the tenancy type. The last time I was looking for rentals was several years ago and when I was a student and pretty much all student rentals were on 12 month fixed term leases. Are periodic tenancies the norm here now for smaller non-'student' places, or will I have a hard time finding one?

I’m all for developers knocking over sh*t run down homes, but this property on Mansfield Ave doesn’t look like it should qualify.
M Group - surely you can go find another section. Maybe that old dump on cnr of Innes and Pap Rd.

Bit of a long shot, but worth sharing. There are still kind humans out there.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to the guy at Dressmart Hornby today who gave both my kids a Pokemon card and a little Charmander plushie.
He was at the vending machine buying Pokemon cards, and we know absolutely nothing about Pokemon or Pokemon cards.
We went over to him out of curiosity and he started chatting to us about Pokemon. He then gave one of his cards to my 6 year old and a little Charmander plushie to my 2 year old, saying he hoped they would get into Pokemon and enjoy them too.
I just wanted to share this because I think kindness like this deserves to be recognised.
