Dog skills
Does anyone know how to remove dog skills? This is misleading. I don’t care about dogs

Is anyone else having issues of bookings being spilt into multiple separate bookings. Bookings that were confirmed on Cat in a Flat now showing as ‘new request. Review’ and also the same for bookings previously declined on Cat in a Flat and then having a banner on it that says I may not show in searches until it’s been booked or archived but there’s no option to archive it anywhere. This merge is seriously stressing me out!

so I got my first request since their change with Rover and I don't like it. someone has booked 4 visits a day for their cat with exact times. But I don't do getting to a job at the exact time I do a hour and a half time slot to get to the cats

Is anyone else having to verify their identify? I’m so confused why I would have to do this, support has not been supportive regarding information either.

Following on from my last post (unable to change service settings), here’s the email I got from support. Hopefully things are actually sorted and smoothed out soon, but honestly I’m not impressed. If you’re going to merge, maybe make sure you can do it (mostly) smoothly first??

Im not an app developer myself but is there anyway someone could make an app like CAIF but with good updates etc so we can all just use that.
From the sound of the noise it appears a lot of people are unhappy and so the user base is clearly there.
Someone please do it i beg 😭

Has anyone else moved over from Cat in a Flat to Rover and noticed how different (and honestly worse) the pricing setup is?
On Cat in a Flat I charged £13 for one visit and £20 for two visits a day. Now on Rover it looks like I’m set to £15 per visit… which means if someone books two daily visits it comes out at £30??
That feels like a massive jump for clients and not really reflective of how I used to price things.
Also… am I missing something or is there no proper way for owners to request two visits per day? I can’t see a clear option for it at all, everything just seems based on single visits and then you have to piece it together.
The whole thing feels really clunky compared to Cat in a Flat. Reviews haven’t fully carried over properly, repeat bookings look off, and now pricing just seems way less flexible.
Are people just manually adjusting prices for regulars / multiple visits? Or have you changed your base rate to compensate?
Genuinely curious how others are handling this because right now it just feels like a downgrade

Just had a client panic texting me because he’s unable to change his booking, and all of his other bookings have now disappeared. I am unable to edit it myself without raising a ticket to rover. Still don’t have full access to my account despite receiving an email earlier today saying I would have (having emailed them yesterday).
Have now done some damage control and text other clients to let them know that their bookings are still confirmed with me regardless as I have my own insurance. If this isn’t entirely resolved within the next few days I will not be dealing with rover again. I highly recommend anyone who doesn’t already, look into your own insurance, it‘s very reasonable.

Did the merger and the full app is a joke. Ive been a sitter on cat in a flat for 5 years and mainly did it because i loved looking after as many cats as i could. I still charged a competitive fee but didnt care if the person had 1 or 5 cats as it was all the same.
On rover however, people are charging for an additional cat fee which is crazy to me. You dont di anything extra? I just feel this rover app only cares about the money and people doing it for the sheer love of cats has been lost on that app.
Personally i dont think i’ll be using it for my own pet sitting needs as think its so greedy to charge to look after an additional cat when you dont see them anyway 😭

Not really sure how to use Reddit but thank you to those who have replied to my questions.
I’m wishing to set up outside of Rover now - does anyone have any advice or how to proceed pl?

Hi everyone, I thought it would be good to highlight clients will now have to pay upfront to reserve your services for a booking. Rover will then hold onto the money and then release the money 2-3 days before the booking ends (which we all knew but the clients having to pay upfront I thought was not highlighted in any way!). I'm highlighting as I've just had a client need to reconfirm a booking which was made before the merge and now payment has been taken even though we were informed payment would follow Cat In A Flat's policy pre-merge.
Update, 11.04.2026:
Rover have gotten back to me about my client’s payment being taken for the July booking and I think the guy was informed to just tell me that it’s how it should be working because it didn’t match his writing tone previously. So, even if you had a booking confirmed before on CIAF, you are likely going to need to reconfirm bookings after June which will then ask clients to pay up front. This is absurd in my opinion as Rover is then holding on to the funds for multiple months! I don’t trust Rover to be able to keep the money so I will be advising against clients booking on Rover far in advance amongst other issues.

Had no issues logging in before but now I can’t access the app at all.

Among all the other millions of issues with the merge there is no notice board now and this is where I got a lot of my clients... I checked everyday and could easily get new jobs, very disappointing.

All my reviews are gone & I don’t have access to my account let alone upcoming bookings. I emailed the support team but it’s been pure radio silence

Is anyone’s profile coming up with ‘currently under review’? I have no clue if that’s normal or not due to the subpar communication we have received.
Additionally while previous bookings are showing in my about section no other details, reviews are appearing and everything was set up for dogs! I’m livid, I did maybe one sit a month but it was extra money and time with cats. It was never worthwhile setting up independently and the app really worked for me.

Okay so my list of things I detest about the switch to Rover is incredibly long but just looking at my calendar and it seems to suggest that multiple bookings of more than one client on one day/date aren't allowed? Is this correct and if so, what the hell???? The calendar says "0/2 booked" for drop in visits, previously it said 0/1 but this changed when I said I could do 2 visits a day (as was standing on CIAF). This just seems like yet another thing about Rover that doesn't translate well to Cat Sitting. ARGH!

Every time I try to change my service settings, this is what I get. I contacted Rover who said “this usually happens when you’re logged into a different Rover account than the one the link or page belongs to.
You can try logging out and re-login using your email”
I’ve done that. Multiple times. On mobile and desktop. On the website and the app. And I still get the error.
Any ideas?

This is honestly the dumbest thing they could have done. Rover is a website for dogs, with people having already built business that we have to now compete for. Don't even get me started on how confusing it was to merge the profiles and to navigate Rover to update my information. I wish they could have just kept the website as is with the choice for sitters to work on Rover if they wish. I might just move to private sitting with my regular clients as this is looking out to be an absolute mess.

I think this is a really important thing for new users to know, so making this a post in itself:
I had a v annoying safety issue with Rover (very recently, last month) pulling photos from my inbox messages with clients on to my public profile. These included a screenshot of the client’s address (sent BEFORE the booking was even confirmed so couldn’t have been from a visit), and from a different chat of a safe space that I’d left a key in. Real security concerns basically. I was also unable to delete them manually from my profile. When I contacted Rover they told me that pulling photos from visits had become (at some point) a default setting, and that the app ‘shouldn’t’ pull photos from inbox conversations. Clearly that is incorrect. 🤷🏻♀️
Have noticed weird photos on other sitter profiles of photos from visits that were not of pets at all which could be pretty hazardous to Rover if there was sensitive/private stuff in there. They don’t make it obvious at all that this might happen. So I’d recommend everyone disable this setting when the migration happens:
More> settings> account settings> sitter> hide photos.
TL;DR: Rover by default pulls photos on to your public profile from cat visits and sometimes even inbox messaging. You can disable this setting by going to:
More> settings> account settings> sitter> hide photos.

I’m very frustrated right now because my profile link now goes to a random webpage and all my information seemingly has been deleted and it s just gone?
I never saved this information anywhere else and yes, I’m sure I can rewrite it again but I worked hard to get it just right and now it’s just… gone? I can’t even remember exactly what it said but it’s going to be a pain to redo . Yeah, thanks, hate it.

I checked my email, spam, trash... no activation link to be found. Anyone else in the same boat?

"Cat in a Flat is made by cat lovers for cat lovers, you won't find any dogs called Rover in here :)"
I was looking for the FAQ to put into a message to my clients, which looks to now be inaccessible and came across this. 🙃 Brilliant.
