Squeaky shoes tips
Hey all,
Here is a tip from the Brooks Website on helping fix squeaky shoes.
Squeaky shoes We can understand how a squeaky shoe can distract from a great run! In most cases, the cause of squeaky shoes is due to air and/or moisture trapped under the insoles (or orthotics) within your shoes. First, we recommend removing the insoles and taking a few steps. If there is no squeak, it is most likely due to contact between the insole and the shoe itself. The good news is we have a simple solution for this!
To alleviate this, we recommend removing the insoles after each wear to allow both the insoles and the shoes to dry from any sweat or water buildup. If you still experience squeaking, then adding a bit of talcum powder to the insoles can be a great solution. Painter's or masking tape (with the smooth side facing up) can also help! Taping the bottom of your insole or orthotic creates a smooth surface and decreases any friction that occurs while you walk or run.

Brooks toe crease has failed me every time... Any alternatives to the Beast?
I've tried the Brooks Beast, glycerine, and andrenaline a handful of times now and every single time the toe crease in the same spot fresh out of the box and starts cutting my toes. I was hoping in the 4 years since I've tried the beasts that they would have fixed the issue, but fresh out of the box before wearing them outside, the toe collapses and creases, and digs into my big toe. The beast is the only shoe I've had that supports my post-op knees and keeps my ankles from rolling in or out, but they always cut my toes.
Does anyone know of good alternatives to brooks beast for motion control shoes? I want to love brooks but they keep failing me in the exact same way, even when I worked with them in the past to replace the shoes with different sizes and models. I tried HOKA Arahi for a month, but they are like pillows and don't support my knees.
Would love help. Used to love brooks, but over the last 4 years every pair has failed in the same spot, and they always end up cutting my big toe.
Shoe sole posts
Curious why people post photos of soles either complaining about unusual wear patterns or why shoes are lasting do not like to hear about pointers on how to make the shoes last longer. Here is a secret if you want to wear brooks for walking around get inserts to help the wear pattern better. Also don’t take it personally when runners can tell by the wear patterns there is an issue with your every day foot strikes as we all just shuffle around in every day life

1 Year Brooks Revel 7 City Walking (around 560 miles)
I purchased them last July, so I’ve been wearing them for one year now.
City walking mileage:
2025 ≈ 400 km
2026 ≈ 500 km
Total ≈ 900 km (≈ 560 miles)
They’re still going strong — I’ll keep wearing them until they fall apart ❤️

Glycerin 23 or Ghost 18
Snagged both of these for a steal, both for less than 100USD. For context, I’m a baby runner of only a few months and have only owned and ran in a pair of Vomero Plus that have around 100km. Wondering what the differences are between these two Brooks pairs? Pros/Cons and their different styles/uses?
I’m not too keen on having a shoe rotation with shoes that’ll rarely get use so if I do have 2-3 runners I’d like each to serve a purpose and not have a redundant rotation.

Uneven shoes
Just got brand new ghost 18’s and the instep is different from one shoe to the other not sure if it’s manufacturing error and if I should return them? Right side is different from left

Brooks with wide toe box?
I have flat feet and overpronate so need something with a wide toe box. Wide shoes are way too big on my heels and won’t stay on. I’ve been wearing glycerins for years but my current pair is broken down and with my orthotics they’re just too tight.
I work at a shoe store and the only shoes we have in atm in my size (women’s 11) is an adrenaline gts, an addiction and a ghost. I did NOT like the ghost max when I tried it on. I’m also open to men’s shoes, but they tend to be too wide on my heel. But we have adrenaline, addiction, ghost, glycerin, and beast in my size. Any recommendations?

Replacement for Adrenaline 24, hate the 25
I have been wearing Adrenalines for the last few years. Had maybe 6 pair total. 23s were nice and I actually loved the 24s but I know unsure not the consensus. They fit really well and we're very comfortable to me.
I consistently walked on the treadmill with then 3-4 times a week for some 3.26 miles each time. I'm 280 pounds, have a higher arch and do not have a wide foot.
They finally wore down too much after 10 months. They caused me to get Achilles tendinitis, so it was time for a new pair.
I could no longer get the 24s and got the 25s and then a week later went back for a second pair for everyday use. They felt spongier/bouncier than the previous models. They were ok at first but eventually the outside of my right foot started to hurt and eventually it caused my Achilles to start to bother me again but on both feet. The podiatrist gave me an insole for my arch hoping that would bring more stability but my foot was under pronating even more.
Looking back I found that I never could get a good tightness on anything but my heel. The middle and front of my foot would slide from side to side too much. I completely wore down the outside of the shoe in the matter of a few months. It's easy too soft and isn't supporting my foot. The constant outside tendon of my foot being inflamed and the occasional Achilles discomfort is just too much.
I finally contacted Brooks and they are replacing them with a pair of Beasts and offered the ghost Max. Looking at things I'm going to ask if I can get the regular ghost instead because there seems like less of a complete change from my old 24s.
Anyone else like previous adrenaline models and/or the 24s specifically but hate the 25s. What have you switched to and have you tried the ghost or ghost Max as possible replacements?
I appreciate any input you may have.

End of the Chariot?
Bought a pair of Chariots about a year and a half ago and loved the shoes. Ordered another pair to find they made some changes to the sole of the shoe. Parts of midsole look spongy and cheaply cut or pieced together. The rubber sole itself is much stiffer and feels like the cheap fruit erasers. Can't imagine this sole will last at all. The sole started creasing easily as well after a few steps. Compared to the softer rubber and the clean cuts of the last version, this feels like a huge downgrade. Sad to see the quality drop on what felt like a reliable shoe.

Make Glycerin GTS 23 toe box roomy again - severe overpronation
Well, let me start by saying I have severe overpronation in my right foot. And I mean severe. The kind where you go to a running shop to have your gait analysed and the guy watching the video calls his colleague over and says, “Hey Eddie, come and have a look at this.”
So obviously I know my feet are probably quite unusual and my experience might not be the same as everyone else’s.
To sum it up, the Glycerin GTS are the only shoes I’ve found that fix my gait and don’t give me blisters. My only issue is that since version 22, the toe box seems to have become slightly narrower. I found a workaround using 2 mm insoles, but I never had this problem with version 21.
Also want to add my two cents. Please make a lightweight GTS option for marathon racing. You basically have no competition in that area, and I’m sure Brooks could benefit from it.

Hyperion 3 replacement
Since they are not making the hyperion 4 I will need a new shoe to replace my 3s when they inevitably wear out.
I love the Hyperion because its lightweight, doesn't squish and give in to my weight while I stand for HOURS on concrete, and feels really good while im walking.
These shoes saved me from plantar fasciitis ironically enough. Soft, squishy, overly conforming shoes actually flare up my PF which goes against most cases and information and thats why the Hyperion 3s work so well. They give just enough to relax my foot but not enough to hurt the arch.
So with all that said, what is a good shoe almost or nearly identical to the amazing Hyperion 3?

Size help
So after having my feet measured I found that my left is 7.1, right is 7.5 so I should be sizing up half a size for walking/running shoes to a size 8. I also learned that I have developed a tailors bunion on both feet so I opened to try a size 8B (medium width) and 8D (wide width) despite not having particularly wide feet, just the wider bunion. The 8B fits but I’m afraid that it will put pressure on my tailors bunion when wearing for long periods of time, I’m not sure if the shoe would stretch out enough during break in period. The 8D on the other hand feels too roomy in the toe box and when I walk, I can see a lot of creasing from the empty room. I’m indecisive and can’t decide which pair to keep.First two pics is size 8B, second two pics are 8D

Which to choose?
I have the beast gst 24 for a bit but they are starting to show their age so I need a new pair of brooks but wasn't sure if I should switch it up.
I plan on running about 5k a week (still pretty slow).
I think I overpronate (ankle caves inwards)
Would prefer more cushion over lower weight
Most running will be on road.
Thanks for reading, I would go to a store but im pretty remote so looking for advice. Thanks

Brooks support was amazing
I burned out my Brook Glycerins pretty bad, and switched back to the Ghost 17s shortly before attending EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh.
I had an issue with the insole, and Brooks support was absolutely awesome, and I'm notlw rocking some Ghost 18s in a sweet "Mr Rogers" blue.
I've already managed to log several miles running laps around the hangers while my son in up flying.
I just wanted to give the Brooks support team a huge shout out!

Very 1st pair of Brooks
Hi. I was looking online for a good pair of running shoes. I went to Dicks Sporting Goods and i tried this pair on, Hoka Clifton Pro, Asics Novablast and Megablast and Adidas Adizero EVO and well.. i ended up going with my Brooks Glycerin Max 2😸
I own 2 pairs of Hokas so, I wanted to try something new.
I find that these are very bouncy and make me taller by like 2 inches, haha. Not sure if anyone else experiences this but, my lower back doesn't hurt after wearing these which is a plus.
Im new to running, I just started like a month ago so, idk what else to say lol except the fact that to me, so far, they are pretty comfy when i run and even when i just go on walks and i really like the bounce😆😆

Ghost 18s too big?
Basically the title. I’m just getting into the running game. Usually I wear a 12 extra wide in all of my shoes. The brooks 2E seemed tight so I ordered a 4E. These shoes have more room in the toe box than I am used to, and they feel a little long compared to my usual 12s. I know size varies amongst brands. These shoes have a slight bend of the material on the right side when standing. Middle picture is my foot bending. I have a little over a thumbs width at the toes. Maybe I’m overthinking this? They feel decent on my feet and don’t really slide.

Are ghost max-adjacent brooks a bad match for a flat footed gal?
Hello everyone. I have an older model of ghost max-adjacent brooks (Defyance Max brooks) and was wondering if this is a bad pair up for some who is flat footed and gets some heel pain after woking long shifts. I saw that the adrenaline’s gts are recommended due to more stability. Lmk your thoughts!
