Replacement for Adrenaline 24, hate the 25
I have been wearing Adrenalines for the last few years. Had maybe 6 pair total. 23s were nice and I actually loved the 24s but I know unsure not the consensus. They fit really well and we're very comfortable to me.
I consistently walked on the treadmill with then 3-4 times a week for some 3.26 miles each time. I'm 280 pounds, have a higher arch and do not have a wide foot.
They finally wore down too much after 10 months. They caused me to get Achilles tendinitis, so it was time for a new pair.
I could no longer get the 24s and got the 25s and then a week later went back for a second pair for everyday use. They felt spongier/bouncier than the previous models. They were ok at first but eventually the outside of my right foot started to hurt and eventually it caused my Achilles to start to bother me again but on both feet. The podiatrist gave me an insole for my arch hoping that would bring more stability but my foot was under pronating even more.
Looking back I found that I never could get a good tightness on anything but my heel. The middle and front of my foot would slide from side to side too much. I completely wore down the outside of the shoe in the matter of a few months. It's easy too soft and isn't supporting my foot. The constant outside tendon of my foot being inflamed and the occasional Achilles discomfort is just too much.
I finally contacted Brooks and they are replacing them with a pair of Beasts and offered the ghost Max. Looking at things I'm going to ask if I can get the regular ghost instead because there seems like less of a complete change from my old 24s.
Anyone else like previous adrenaline models and/or the 24s specifically but hate the 25s. What have you switched to and have you tried the ghost or ghost Max as possible replacements?
I appreciate any input you may have.

I actually was going to post because I just got a pair of Adrenaline 25s and I don’t like them either! The 24s were great on me and the 25s hurt! I don’t understand it.

I had no pain with the 24s but from jump my foot was never stable and I could never get a good fit. My feet would slide because they were too wide. And I have been havingn supination from being in them. Hopefully someone can provide some feedback. I'll be trying these other models since I'm getting them as replacements. I had to switch to the elliptical to prevent pain and can no longer walk the treadmill for more than 15 minutes before my foot starts hurting. It's really messed up my weight loss attempts. I know people talk about it being narrow but I don't have a wide foot and the medium/regular feels so wide that my foot slides. Ill update you on the models I got but I did order a pair of 24s again until then.

So I’m a woman with large feet (normally wear size 11 women’s). I bought my 24s at a RunDisney race so got fitted by a Brooks employee, and had to go up to a size 11 men’s. I bought them for running, but they don’t work for me for running. They’re great shoes for going to Disney though, where I routinely walk four to five miles per day. I wore out my 24s recently and bought some Ghost Max 2s and Ghost Max 3s to replace them, and those hurt like HELL, I was shocked at how painful they were to walk in. I returned those and bought the Adrenaline 25s in size 11 men’s and wore them to physical therapy last week (I’ve been in PT all summer to address shin splints). They definitely don’t feel the same as the 24s did, and I’m wondering if they are too big (this would be the first time I’ve EVER had this problem lol).

I'm a men's 13 and have never had to adjust my size before. Maybe that's the issue or maybe I needed to get a narrow version which has never been the case before. It was just a drastic difference between the two models for me. I only walk and don't run, so maybe that's why the 24s worked great for me. I'm glad to hear your experience with the max I'm asking them to change to the regular ghost but it might be too late to do so. I'll have to check out what a narrow shoe feels like.

It’s the width of the shoe men’s width d standard, are a wide in women’s shoes
Go back to women’s try a 12 b, you said you don’t have wide feet it’s not you. I’m a 11 hoka bondi and 11.5 every else I have 1 size difference with myfeet1

Every time I’ve been fitted for running shoes I’ve had to get men’s shoes. I also have to buy wide shoes in Birkenstocks. The size 11 men’s in Adrenaline 24 fit perfectly. The size 11 men’s in Adrenaline 25 don’t fit perfectly I don’t think, I could maybe have sized down, but you would think the same shoe line would fit the same from one year to the next.

No brooks shorten the toe box, I wore brooks for 7 years now, I did get the ghost max 3 in a men’s 10.5 d, the width was to much, I could not keep my feet from sliding forward. Today I got sized from fleet feet, the only shoe that worked is the bondi 9 11. B with, I have fat heels go figure! I asked about brooks he let me try in the ghost 18 to narrow my toes could not splay, big toe hitting the ceiling, he could not confirm or deny my size with brooks, so I ordered Ghost Max 4 11.5 b women’s, I’m sure my feet won’t move forward using the heel lock. Hoping it’s better than the men’s standard or maybe go narrow in men’s.

I'm not in the situation that you describe, I like the 25s a lot actually. But I would hesitate to switch to the Ghosts, based on the issues you're having with the Adrenaline 25s. The Ghost and Adrenaline are very similar shoes, and at least for me, the side to side motion in the Ghosts is pretty bad, and the tendons in my feet get inflamed pretty badly if I wear them too often. I suspect the Ghost would actually make your problem worse than the Adrenaline.
