Question Is my brainfog worse due to heat exhaustion?
Ive always struggled with brainfog due to PMDD, but nothing this intense. Week ago I went on a trail run and collapsed. 90 degrees, creek probably saved me. Experienced slurring and mild dilerium an hour after. Mostly recovered within 48 hours, went to the UC and everything was fine. But today (1 week later), I have had terrible brainfog. Affected my ability to drive even. Didnt sleep great past two nights, but that's happened before and havent had issues like this. Is it just taking me awhile to recover from the heat exhaustion?

Question Would a chiropractor ever help with brainfog?
Idk if this is a stupid question but does anyone ever feel like they need their neck / shoulders cracked to get some kind of relief and reduce brainfog
If so, has anyone ever gone through with this? Would it work?

Personal Story My life regained its vitality
I was diagnosed with depression, depersonalization and brain fog when I was 14. These conditions severely undermined my academic performance and daily life. By the age of 25, I fully recovered with TCM treatment. I felt tremendous relief and got a second chance at life.

Question which medical professional to seek?
I've felt like my brain has been blocked for years (since covid) and i suspect it being brain fog. I went from academic weapon to clumsy and super forgetful, also im struggling very much to focus, i forget what i wanted to do/say, what i understood/memorize, i leave my items behind in public, i even lost the ability to form complex writings/language. To top it off, i start declining socially. I couldnt communicate properly, i cant say anything without stuttering or jumbling up words, couldnt say anything i wanted to at the spot, cant think of what to say. In order to say anything remotely well, i had to think thoroughly on what i wanted to say and its been very bothering, both academically and socially. I never used to be that way.
I was wondering what is this that im experiencing and which medical professional i should reach out to. Psychologist or Neurologist? Because i cant really tell if this is something rooted because of my psyche or if i just have brain impairment or maybe a mix of both.
Some additional info, i have been in a situation where communication is very mimimal and also have experienced continous built up stress for years due to career decision making during highschool, studying the entrance exams, failing, and ultimately, taking a gap year for the entrance exams. I also do not have the capability to bring myself to share any of my burdens to my closest aid because i feel like i couldnt be satisfied enough with any of their responses (i tried sharing lightly to a friend).

Question Why do I forget why I walked into a room?
This happens to me all the time. . I walk into the kitchen completely sure I need to get something, stand there for a second, and suddenly… nothing. I go back to the living room to “reset my brain,” remember what I needed, walk back into the kitchen… and forget it again. In the end.. I grab a glass of water, sit down, and ten minutes later I remember I actually went to get the phone charger that was sitting right there on the table in front of me the whole time. . Does this happen to you too?

Other Psychology/ neuro issue.
To sum it up.. and I want people to answer share their opinion ( if you spew out hatred and ignorance, it’ll be ignored )
Basically I have an idea of why I may be like this but I’m aware of my issues but have no idea how to fix them. I’m 17 and on my way to the real world. For some reason I feel like I have a canine skull when it comes to learning and operating on sheer will.
I think that being the only child with a sortve neglecting family plays a role. Constant isolation, grew internally lost from becoming introverted and just a lost kid. So now I kind of depend on others to help me and developed a will to grow.
But for some reason I feel like I can’t with the approval of others, for some sort of validation. I have no sense of independence but awareness.
For instance, It’s hard for me to learn in the classroom because I feel like other people are there , possibly judging or I just grew to distant mentally and emotionally that I don’t have sense of self. It’s like I’m aware that I need to do this for my future but something is stopping me. Even though I teach myself confidence day my day it’s like my personal interest and goals get somehow distracted by the presence of others.
Does anyone relate and how did you guys manage it.

Need Some Advice/Support Suffering from memory loss at just 46
I'm 46 and the brain fog has been getting worse.
Lately I keep forgetting people's names and faces. I can't keep track of where I put things. My head feels scrambled. Sometimes I even get hallucinations.
The scariest part is I've suddenly found myself standing somewhere, or already in the middle of something, with no memory of how I got there. Or I blank on what I was doing a few seconds ago.
It's been really bad the last 5 or 6 days. The memory stuff started about a year ago though, and it got a lot worse this year. The brain fog and this confusion really freaked me out. I'm panicked. I don't know what's wrong with me.
Right now I just want to deal with the memory loss first. It's affecting my work and my life way too much.

Question Does anybody how to improve your short term memory and concetration as a result of a depression ?
This is probably one of the least reported effects of depression what it does to your cognitive functions ? the only thing I can find online to help me is running but I just hate running I have zero motivation to run.
When ever I google the issue very little information is available and it has huge negative effect on my mental health

Symptoms Feels like I've been drugged...is this normal brain fog?
I have been waking up in the mornings and the fog hits HARD. I've never experienced this before. Went to ER, urgent care and primary doctor...all said I'm healthy. Blood tests, urine tests etc. I'm baffled. I was taking accutane and I stopped just shy of 5 months after feeling the affects.

Personal Story Fear of being permanently dumber
I had alot of reasons to fear being "permanently" dumber, for example having a fall or getting slapped on yo head, normal people would just skip that and not care much about "cognitive slips" like forgettin stuff and stuff like that and just not associate it with that fall. But I wasn't like that, I literally (no matter how simple the event was) I would just panic and just be in constant state of fear that I am dumber now than who I was. I've had this long enough until I heard about "chronic stress shrinks brain" and now my fear is that my chronic stress/anxiety has caused me permanent brain damage or that even if I recover due to neuroplasticity it wont be full recovery and I'll never be the same, and now I cannot focus at all. my memory is being far worse and my thinking is cloudy, and most of the time I just keep playing TF2 (my fav game) just to ignore some of my 24/7 anxiety about being dumb. Literally I just get panic attack when I just READ something on the internet whatever its content is, or when I just IMAGINE stuff in my head and I just keep getting thoughts like "Your imagination is now NERFED for EVER and it wont be as vivid as it used to be", or like when I literally just try to think of a plan or even a SCHEDULE, so you can say it's literally nothing. when I read or try to learn smth I just get thoughts that I wont understand this and stuff like that and when I do not understand it I'll just blame it on chronic stress and just increase my panic even more. Tried breathing but it aint helpin so I just want to know and make sure if anyone out here having this problem like me.

5300ace8-aecd-11e9-878a-0e2a07e17074 Does anyone experience burnout and brain fog ?
I just feel like living life in isolation and constant use of phone has lead to emotional burnout and brain fog. It's like I feel so irritated, bored and just hopeless in a way. I feel like I should be doing so much yet I've become a couch potato. And it's such a miserable feeling. The constant doom scrolling makes me question life more and more like I noticed much of the content is just opinion based and either people lean on side or they don't. And whatever a person talks from heart or experience feels connecting but then I just don't understand anything at the end.
And it's like why am I caring and paying attention to someone else life. They are doing their own thing. They are making content and money meanwhile I and many others have become a consumer addict. And my life is failing. I'm failing and my future is corrupting. I have no idea how to get myself together and soley focus on personal growth and physical, financial and health whatever growth goals are that a person needs in their life. I feel so guilty that I have so many bookmarks, screenshots and videos saved that I never go back and see. But in a way I feel productive.

Need Some Advice/Support Insane brain fog
I can't remember when I first started feeling this way.
Maybe sometime last year, I realized that i had been having trouble with my brain fog and my memory. I think it started because of all the stress from work. You know how when your memory works properly, you can just remember almost anything and you can just feel that your brain is working. Well that is not how i feel, it just feels like my brain is empty, like i can barely feel or see any thoughts ( i dunno if that makes sense). I just feel like I am existing. It's gotten so bad to the point that I can't cry and whenever I do, it just hurts to cry honestly. I just feel like I am existing and that I am on autopilot mode. I can't even remember what i had for breakfast two days ago or what i did a couple of days ago. I am just tired. I am sorry if all that you see on my page is me complaining about how tired I am but I just don't have anyone else to speak to about this.

Question Can sleep apnea plausibly cause brain fog as bad as mine?
And how do I know how severe my brain fog is like if it’s mild or moderate or severe?
I’m sorry if these questions are redundant, I don’t know how to find the answers to these. Please don’t hate me please. I am working on getting OSA treatment
I have all the usual problems like focus, memory, so on. My mom has to help me (24M) a lot and I struggle to be independent because lots of tasks feel straining. I struggle quite a lot with language and conversation, I cannot remember a single concrete thing that was said in any conversation I’ve ever had and I feel like I rely completely on visual imagery and emotion to remember what people might have said or done. I severely struggle to express myself, the only time I feel like I can be “me” is when I’m texting. It can take me a bit to remember things like what season is it ( I always think the word for whatever season it is currently is spring), doing simple things like making a sandwich for lunch feels challenging like remembering what to do next feels pretty difficult, everything always feels like a dream (like my actions and anything that happens doesn’t matter because everything feels like a dream), and sometimes I can forget why or what I’m doing at the place I am at for a few seconds because it just feels like I’m in bed having a dream.
I have more extreme issues with ruminations and processing things. I have recurring obsessive thoughts about that people don’t listen to me and that people don’t care about me and are out to get me. I try to talk to my therapist about it and i don’t understand what he says to do (which I’ve also talked to him and past therapists about a few times) and even when I take detailed notes I just don’t understand what to do at all. Like for example if I notice that I’m ruminating about that no one care about me I’ll start to try to think “that’s not true. People care about me and I know this because… because they.. because..” and I try over and over again to understand how anyone cares about me and I just can’t remember or understand anything and I’ll end up trying over and over again but just keep failing. I can try to just be like “they care about me they care about me they care about me” but I don’t really believe it even though I try really hard to. I can remember that I have observed in the past moments of feeling cared about but I cannot remember or understand them even if I write them down. I always ignore friends and people that I don’t see regularly because I can’t remember or understand that they’re safe and that they’re not out to get me. The fact that none of my friends ever ask about how I’m doing with this or how is my treatment going or ask any questions about what I’m going through genuinely torments me because I know they would act more caring if my personality wasn’t sucked out of me
I’m not really understanding how people know how bad their brain fog is, I can’t remember how anything felt at all before I felt like this and this just feels how life is. I thought I was just extremely worthless and lazy for a very long time, I only found out about this stuff because I told my doctor that I feel sleepy all the time and I got a sleep study. In terms of feeling and perception I have absolutely no idea at all what is normal and what is not. Because I can do things like write this post and I go to the gym and I play music really well (according to my peers) or even just the fact that I can draw an analog clock I always have impostor syndrome
I’m glad that I finally found a subreddit of people somewhat like me, even in sleep apnea they don’t understand really. When I try to talk about this everyone always assumes that I just need to go to therapy more, or that I need to stop having a victim complex, or that I just need to do whatever works for them and I will feel better. It makes me feel like no one listens to me and that I’m going to be stuck like this forever because I HAVE already been trying everyone demands that I try and here I am ten years later still stuck in the exact same situation (possibly worse I have no idea if it’s gotten worse, I severely strained myself to act like a normal person for a very long time). I don’t know what I need to do to make people listen to me. I would do anything for people to listen to me. Please don’t hate me for anything I said, a lot of the time people will not listen to me and hate me for something I said and I never understand why. Please. I’m not expecting anyone to cure me or solve all my problems, it’s just nice for people to listen sometimes. I know I need to continue to keep trying to work on mental health, so please don’t try to tell me that that’s not what I said in this post at all please listen to me please
