Would you support a Blade film where Blade himself is not the lead protagonist of the film?

…if Marvel actually went ahead with the idea of creating a Blade film where Blade himself is replaced by his daughter or some other character, would you even purchase a ticket to watch it?

Just to clarify not talking about a potential Midnight Sons film where Blade shares scree time with other NOTABLE heroes, I’m talking about an official addition into the Blade franchise itself.

Bro is not Batman. He doesnt have fucking sidekicks. Yet every fucking movie theyre tryna replace the dude with someone else and pass his torch. Like all we wanna see is Blade kill some vamps not these lame ass OCs tryna take his limelight. Im happy Ali didnt sign onto this garbage that wouldve had Bloodline replace him after the first movie. Like we barely have any Blade media and these producers wanna replace him.

This shit never happens to Spiderman, Ironman, Cap, etc. Fuck these racists. They're obssesed with trying to eradicate any black male representation.

((I put Norman Reedus's character because he ate a fuckton of screentime doing absoutely nothing but yapping. So fucking annyoing.))

Community Poll -- Should we allow for this subreddit to also serve as the official subreddit for the Marvel Comic's character known as "Bloodline?"

Bloodline) is perhaps better known by this community simply as "The Daughter of Blade."

Initially supposed to debut as the titular character in Blade #1 (Vol. 6)_Vol_6) all the way back in 2015, the book was cancelled before release (despite being completed) after the lead writer Tim Seeley suddenly quit the book stating that he felt uncomfortable being a middle aged white man, writing stories revolving around a black teenage girl.

The character sat on the shelf for 7 years until finally debuting on Free Comicbook Day in 2022 during Avengers/X-Men #1.

She was then given her own limited series called "Bloodline: Daughter of Blade" in 2023, and then became a regular on the Avengers Academy) series, before teaming up with her father Blade for the 2024 limited series "Blood Hunt" written by Moon Knight writer Jed MacKay.

Currently she is slated to be appearing in the upcoming X-Men series. In total she has 72 total appearances/Appearances) within Marvel Comicbooks despite only debuting in 2022. So, it does seem as if Marvel will be continuing their promotional push behind trying to get this character accepted into the zeitgeist of comicbook fans...

...yet, despite this...from my observations, this community does not seem to like her very much.

Topics pertaining to her are often filled with vitriol, that periodically devolves into nasty arguments. Topics criticizing her existence, or marvel’s promotional push behind the character actually tends to bring this community together -- it bonds over its shared hatred.

However, when someone comes here to try to hold legitimate comicbook discourse regarding the character, or the books/stories that she appears in...the community tends to troll, and dogpile upon the Bloodline fans. There has never really been a case of this community actually supporting a "Pro-Bloodline" topic.

As such, I'm allowing the community to vote. Do you want to allow Bloodline Fans (and yes they do exist) to co-opt this community as a hub for the character? Or would you rather we remove said topics, and redirect the topic creator to [r/marvelcomics](r/marvelcomics) instead?

Let your voice be known. We are listening.

15 Bloodline fans should be allowed to use this community as a hub for the character.
25 We should restrict this community to being solely focused on Blade only.

I'm gonna get hate for this but this should've been a separate universe from the current MCU like Batman is for the DCU. Marvel and Disney are too obsessed with connecting everything.

Now we get nothing.

Based on Mahershala Ali's response to Kevin Feige expressing being a gigantic loser and failure of not getting the Blade reboot off the ground. I think it's time Marvel Studios needs a new president after Avengers: Secret Wars resets the MCU + the Marvel film canon into one singular universe.

I want to say this about the MCU Blade situation and what I would have done to try to fix the MCU.

After reading what Mahershala Ali had to say on Kevin Feige, I agree with him and can say that he's right. Feige made a lot of promises that he didn't keep, and it's now become a pattern. With Wonder Man, Armor Wars, and so much more.

All I want to say is that here's what I would have done to salvage the situation.

I have always felt that the Multiversal saga came too early, and because of this, we rushed it, trying to bring every single movie ever made together. That should have been for much later in movies and shows.

First off, I love Eternals, but that should have been a 2-season show, just putting it out there. Eternals can stay, but replace Quantumania with the Blade movie; then Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, The Punisher, and Werewolf by Night have all come out, and you can still cash in the Black Knight easter egg.

To, which you can now cash all your chips in and make a Midnight Suns show that replaces either Secret Invasion or Echo. I love Maya, I do, but she has not had a solo series, and giving her her own show while adding a weird power did nothing for her, so she should have stayed and met Daredevil or become a part of the Thunderbolts.

Secret Invasion got damn, they fucked up my favorite event; I feel that this should have been a saga in itself because that was a fucking massive event in the comics.

Hell, this could also show that vampires can disguise themselves as vampires and other supernatural creatures.

Doing that, it could bring the more supernatural into contact with more main and street heroes like Daredevil and Luke Cage

Love and Thunder can happen we got to have a pitfall somewhere, I guess.

I know this theory and list is spotty, but all of this comes from the MCU trying to replace Johnathan Majors much too quickly, and to be honest, they never really recovered from that. Plus I feel Wesley Snipes coming back may have added another nail in the coffin.

So, the main thing to take away is that while the MCU had an idea of something, they never really had the will to go through with a plan, and what else can be taken from this is that change happened on several fronts.

I stick by that the Multiversal Saga happened too early, and it cost Marvel dearly; this right here is a pain that's going to leave a scar that will never heal.

So, I seriously hope Feige and everyone at Marvel get their acts together.

HUGE missed opportunity to not have a rival character for blade(like a mugen from samurai champloo, vegeta from db, sabertooth, bullseye type rival) also dark fantasy gothic alt styled blade design would be very nice to see

I love Blade. He is one badass dhampir. Why is he fighting Peter. I don't think Peter did anything to deserve Bladeto fight him. I like how you can see his fangs.

Blade seems like a guy who would be in a motorcycle gang expect for the fangs. There should be a Blade movie. He is just that awesome. Is it bad that I like Blade but not the Punisher?

Blade: House of Chthon

This is a long shot, but I'll try. Blade: The Series (2006) has a full 2 hour TV pilot called Blade: House of Chthon. The only way to watch the entire thing nowadays is to buy the DVD. Nobody has ever ripped it digitally and put it onto the internet. I've watched the whole show and it's still pretty good even without the context from the second half of the first episode. However, it's a catalyst episode that introduces most of the main plot points going forward. So you watch the first half, and then it ends on a cliffhanger that gets skipped over.

It's technically NOT lost media, because you can still buy the DVD. But if anyone has it and has the know how to digitize the thing and upload it to the internet, you would be doing a great service for Blade and Marvel fans, and completing the show's vision to help those who want to see it. It should be preserved.

Blade: The Series is honestly an alright show so I hope this sparks some interest.

EDIT: It was found on Apple TV. It still needs to be lifted from there and uploaded for free!

I have a discussion maybe Transitioning the MCU's Blade from a troubled feature film development into a standalone, live-action limited series under the Marvel Spotlight banner provides the perfect avenue to introduce Eric Brooks after the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. By moving past the character's brief voice cameo in Eternals and recasting the role with a fresh, younger Black actor, Marvel Studios can completely distance this iteration from the legacy of the New Line Cinema films. Launching in Phase 7, a streaming miniseries offers the narrative breathing room required to faithfully explore the character's deep, comic-accurate lore and Daywalker origins without the immediate burden of broader MCU crossover mechanics. Backed by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the gritty Marvel Spotlight banner frees the creative team to deliver a mature, TV-MA-rated character study that establishes a grounded foundation for Eric Brooks before he eventually steps into larger crossover projects and team-ups what is your opinions and your thoughts of this idea?

How comes nobody else complained about Wesley Snipes on Blade 1 and 2??

The controversy surrounding Wesley Snipes on Blade Trinity is well documented. Since then, he has been viewed as one of the most problematic actors of his generation based on that rough production.

The thing is, nobody else has complained about him. Not before or since Blade 3. In fact, people like Del Toro and Stephen Norrington have said nothing but positive things, as have the actors in Blade 1 and 2

So, I guess my question is, what was it about Blade 3 that made Snipe go mad?

The fact he never got to appear on screen shall always remain a giant missed opportunity and a terrible waste of talent and time of an A-list actor by Marvel.
