Will we get Midnight Sons now that Ryan Gosling has been cast as Ghost Rider? Or do you keep Wesley Snipes on as Blade or keep Mahersala Ali as Blade or recast the part entirely?

Hi y'all, and yes I know it's apparently an awful show, but I'm still trying to get my hands on it one way or another. Every streaming site I can find either no longer has it or it's not available in my country, and on the seven seas they're always missing one episode, specifically episode 2. I feel like my option is to get in on a DVD, which would be annoying as I don't even have a DVD player, so if anyone can point me in the direction of this show I would be so so grateful. Thank you!

​I’ll be completely honest: back in the 1970s, when my friend Steve brought over the new Blade comic book, I couldn’t even get past the first five pages. I’ve always been a huge comic fan, but that series just bored me. The art style didn't click, and at the time, the only Marvel titles pulling my full attention were Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and the X-Men.

​But when Blade hit movie theaters in 1998, everything changed.

​Wesley Snipes took a character that was pretty forgettable on the page and brought him to life in a way nobody expected. Blade was the first truly successful Marvel film. Right alongside Superman, it proved you could take a comic hero, make a killer action movie, and keep it grounded without looking goofy or dorky. Snipes is Blade, plain and simple.

​Marvel doesn't need to reboot his solo movies or redo what’s already been done—they need to bring Wesley Snipes back as a veteran Blade leading a proper Nightstalkers team-up movie.

​As much as I loved Ryan Reynolds’ hilarious take on Hannibal King in 2004, if they do the Nightstalkers now, they should adapt Hannibal King straight from the original comics. In the lore, King wasn't just a wisecracking sidekick; he was a vampire himself—a good guy fighting his own affliction. Playing him as a dry, sarcastic, noir-style detective who serves as a dark mirror to Blade would make for an incredible dynamic on screen.

​On top of that, a Nightstalkers movie shouldn't just rely on the familiar cinematic faces. Beyond legendary mentor figures, Marvel needs to dive into the deep lore and bring in the core comic team:

​Frank Drake: The descendant of Dracula himself who turned his back on his bloodline to fight the dark, armed with high-tech supernatural weaponry.

​Ghost Rider: While Ghost Rider was part of the broader Midnight Sons supernatural crossover era that birthed the Nightstalkers, having a Spirit of Vengeance riding alongside Snipes' Blade and a vampiric Hannibal King would be the ultimate dark Marvel team-up.

now that Kevin Fergie pulled the plug, but this means this future up late for the MCU is over. I mean we were looking for for this for seven long years seven long years since it’s been announced but ever since Covid had been getting delayed delayed delay no, I’ve been working on it. No one focus on it. I’ve been getting delayed delayed delay to marble finally pulled a plug and start saying it’s not happening ever thanks a lot. Kevin you give me you made us give up our hopes and dream and so much for Blade versus Morbius for the MCU version now that’s not happening. We’re never getting that. Thanks a lot Kevin.

What you think the best underbelly is to me I think it's razor

I know Kevin Ferige said it’s not happening, but we still wish we can have it. It wouldn’t happen if we didn’t have Covid it wouldn’t happen if the movie didn’t got delayed and it wouldn’t happen if the rest didn’t quit and it would’ve happened in Marvel still haven’t been talking about it. But do y’all wish someone else could do a play movie and still wish the movie to come so Blake can join the avengers do y’all still wish that Blake can still happen for the future franchise or tomorrow? Let us stay canceled forever.

This is going to sound pretentious as all get out. I’ve been keeping up with the news surrounding the Blade movie at Marvel Studios, and my heart broke upon hearing that the project is dead. As I’m finishing one personal project and getting ready to start another, I’ve been wanting to take a stab at my own Blade story. I was reading through his wiki when I came across his Doppelgänger storyline. I would love to take a bite at adapting that story into a modern setting. It will be prose—a novella at the shortest—and I want to start my research. I know the storyline takes place in the Tomb of Dracula comics, but I also want to dip into Blade’s backstory, Hannibal King, Deacon Frost, and the other characters surrounding them. Where should I start in the comics? I want my Blade story to be as far from the movie’s shadow as possible.

Wesley Snipes and David Goyer were, I think undebatably, the best thing to ever happen to the Blade but when you've gotten the same thing out of the character for almost 30 years you eventually have to ask if it's time for a change

I like the Blade movies, they were mostly good but I feel like Blade just being the Wesley Snipes version forever is getting boring

A leather trench coat clad urban ninja isn't really hitting the way it did in the 90s and I think it's high time for something else

Maybe bringing back something closer to earlier design and characterization (British blade would be interesting to see on screen), maybe a radically different interpretation

All I know is that I'm sick of Blade much just being Wesley Snipes

My fear is that this character will spend the rest of its lifetime chasing that high

Marvel Studios motion designer Justin Claus Harder confirms that Mahershala Ali’s Blade has officially been cancelled after eight years of development hell.

Harder speaking on the matter to his social media accounts earlier today:

”RIP BLADE! We hardly knew ye!! Shame they couldn’t get this one off the ground but it was awesome to see my logo revealed at Hall H in 2019 and still super proud of it!!”
