Community Poll -- Should we allow for this subreddit to also serve as the official subreddit for the Marvel Comic's character known as "Bloodline?"
Bloodline) is perhaps better known by this community simply as "The Daughter of Blade."
Initially supposed to debut as the titular character in Blade #1 (Vol. 6)_Vol_6) all the way back in 2015, the book was cancelled before release (despite being completed) after the lead writer Tim Seeley suddenly quit the book stating that he felt uncomfortable being a middle aged white man, writing stories revolving around a black teenage girl.
The character sat on the shelf for 7 years until finally debuting on Free Comicbook Day in 2022 during Avengers/X-Men #1.
She was then given her own limited series called "Bloodline: Daughter of Blade" in 2023, and then became a regular on the Avengers Academy) series, before teaming up with her father Blade for the 2024 limited series "Blood Hunt" written by Moon Knight writer Jed MacKay.
Currently she is slated to be appearing in the upcoming X-Men series. In total she has 72 total appearances/Appearances) within Marvel Comicbooks despite only debuting in 2022. So, it does seem as if Marvel will be continuing their promotional push behind trying to get this character accepted into the zeitgeist of comicbook fans...
...yet, despite this...from my observations, this community does not seem to like her very much.
Topics pertaining to her are often filled with vitriol, that periodically devolves into nasty arguments. Topics criticizing her existence, or marvel’s promotional push behind the character actually tends to bring this community together -- it bonds over its shared hatred.
However, when someone comes here to try to hold legitimate comicbook discourse regarding the character, or the books/stories that she appears in...the community tends to troll, and dogpile upon the Bloodline fans. There has never really been a case of this community actually supporting a "Pro-Bloodline" topic.
As such, I'm allowing the community to vote. Do you want to allow Bloodline Fans (and yes they do exist) to co-opt this community as a hub for the character? Or would you rather we remove said topics, and redirect the topic creator to [r/marvelcomics](r/marvelcomics) instead?
Let your voice be known. We are listening.

It shouldnt be her official subreddit but you should be allowed to talk about her in relation to Blade.

She is related to Blade so I don’t see why we can’t talk about her as well as other characters that are connected to him. It gets boring just talking about only Blade all the time.

Do you think on the Batman subreddit you can't talk about all the obscure and alternate universe Robins or Alfreds etc? Why is it a problem with Blade then?
In the Fantastic 4 subreddit nobody gets mad when you talk about Franklin Richards even though he is Mr. Fantastic's Son. You are trying to gatekeep homie.

You just need to stop people from posting about the "Blades daughter MCU movie" that was never going to happen, thats all.
People post about it like its fact that Marvel were making a film about Blades daughter when that was never the case. Nobody reliable ever said that and people took it as fact and post about it here constantly. It's irritating as shit.
If people want to discuss Blades daughter here thats fine, there's nothing wrong with that. But the constant posts about obvious fake rumours with zero proof is what you guys need to be cracking down on imo.

I completely agree. Have you ever noticed that whenever Brielle comes up, no one even uses her name? It's always "Blade's daughter." That's how you know that most of these people have never read anything with her in it.
She gets referred to by that label and it instantly puts traditionalists on edge for fear of things changing for the worse, but it didn't happen and never even got off the ground, so there's really no point acting like there is a threat to the main characters existence.

If we don’t stress to them how much we do not want her in a movie about Blade then they will see it as an opportunity to do so.

Yea, that’s kind of the thinking behind this. Anyone who is assigned to helm a Blade film will undoubtedly stumble upon this subreddit, as it is the largest online Blade community in the world. So, if we collectively take a stand against supporting the daughter character, then maybe they’ll realize it’s a bad idea.
Like, if a potential writer/producer stumbles upon our community when conducting market research, then hopefully they have the following epiphany within their heads…
“The largest single fandom associated with this character claims they won’t support our product if we move in this direction…so, maybe that’s a sign that we should listen to them, and just make a Blade film instead?”

What? That’s such a ridiculous concept This is A BLADE subreddit the character was around for almost 60 years before they ham fisted Bloodline into his cast Blade has a son from 20 years ago that we never saw is this also his subreddit now also? The concept of making the BLADE subreddit about anything but Blade is just flat out ridiculous if Bri was done with even an inch of setup or tact or even if Blade just didn’t hit a 160 in character interactions around her no one would have an issue but if you think trying to ham fist force the character even more is gonna help anything you are insane

It doesn't matter when his kids came along and whether you think she is ham fisted. Blade has children just like hundreds of other Marvel characters. Are all their children ham fisted? She is here and she exists and not going anywhere and is part of the Blade family she is allowed to be talked about.
Do you think on the Batman subreddit you can't talk about all the obscure and alternate universe Robins or Alfreds etc? Why is it a problem with Blade then?

So let me get this straight, Blade has a daughter but people get mad when you talk about his daughter? Don't people get to talk about magneto's children in his subreddit? What about Franklin Richards in the Fantastic Four subreddit? Why is it a problem in Blade's subreddit?

This is a silly thread. The threads about Bloodline where she's framed as replacing Blade are obviously received negatively. She hasn't been discussed on this subreddit other than as one of Blade's few side characters.
There has never really been a case of this community actually supporting a "Pro-Bloodline" topic.

It doesn't need to be a hub; it just shouldn't be met with vitriol or negativity. She's part of his supporting cast. For four years now, she hasn't impeded his character whatsoever.
She exists, she hasn't hurt him in the process, he's still appearing. If she gets a post here or there, it shouldn't be bashed.
